Well done you, Damson. Sounds like a great plan and keeping busy will make the wait not seem as long.

I'm still feeling a bit sicky to be honest. Kind of resembling a hangover today, just without the headache.

Hope everyone else is good!

MrsBobDylan · 10/11/2016 18:44

It's good you've got your Mum's support Damson. She must have lots of knowledge to be able to advise you too which is great.

Hi to new joiners!

FiFiP89 · 10/11/2016 19:18

Good luck Damson - thinking of you.

Hadn't put earlier: this will be DC1 and EDD is 5th July (If my memory of last cycle serves me right)

Is anyone having big changes in what they are wanting to eat already? I am usually a very healthy eater and am slim (currently) but at the moment wanting to eat carbohydrates as though they may be removed from the world shortly. I usually eat low carb high protein with loads of veg but am having to force myself to eat any protein and veg at the moment. Today for example I have eaten 6 slices of rye bread, brown rice porridge and a bowl of qunioa and have just popped some potatoes in the oven.... Don't know if I am listening to my body or listening to my head telling me I can eat whatever now I have an excuse.

In terms of early scans - what are thoughts on when is too early, 6 weeks too early? As this was very unexpected I feel as though it would help on some levels, at the moment. Any experience appreciated

I know someone mentioned on an earlier post night sweats - I am having awful night sweats and getting really really dehydrated through the night, I have actually asked my DH to wake me and force me to drink 1/2 litre in the middle of the night which has helped - if not in the morning I feel hideous. Guessing this is normal though.....

fluffandsnuff · 10/11/2016 20:03

FiFi that sounds really healthy to me! my diet today:
Sausages (of course 😂)
3 Turkey dinosaurs.
Some random casserole bag bake --so have eaten veg today even if it is potato.
4 Terry's orange segments (it would have been more but I ran out).

On a serious note, I was so sick with DS I'm just grateful I can eat right now. In a week or so the idea of wanting to eat might be a distant memory.

I guess it depends on what you want the early scan for- if you're worried I think you can book in at 6 weeks but IMO you won't see much and might end up worrying more. I'm thinking 9- 10 weeks if my scan date comes after Christmas. That's what we did last time and it worked well staring at 9 week scan of DS getting a bit gooey

Sasspop · 10/11/2016 20:21

Fifi, before I knew I was pregnant I randomly decided I would try a cheese and onion sandwich as hubby was having one (I hate cheese sandwiches) I absolutely loved it and have had 4of them since!!! (In just over a week) whilst cooking spag Bol today all I could think about was having a cheese and onion sandwich after dinner Confused

Sasspop · 10/11/2016 20:23

Oh and the day before I found out I was pregnant I went to the chip shop, at lunch time for chips and gravy on my own, something else I have never ever done.. Strange the things can happen isn't it. Pregnancy is an amazing thing Halo

glasshalfsomething · 10/11/2016 20:51

Hi ladies

May I join?

Feel like a fraud to be honest - conception was via IVF, I've always avoided these boards and hung about the infertility area; almost feel like I'm tempting fate by moving over here.

  1. One chemical pregnancy on chlomid in Jan, 1 round of IVF and approx 5 weeks pregnant. Due date; 10 July 2016

Oh, and have spent last eight weeks worrying - will the meds work, with the sacs grow, will the egg stick, are the (6) tests really right, when will the cramping stop and so on...

I'm really loving finally seeing ladies with the same worries, symptoms and stresses!
X

purplebella · 10/11/2016 21:16

Damson I really feel for youFlowers and I really hope everything's ok.
In the last 2 days I've eaten 4 chicken and mushroom slices and a whole shepherd's pie!! I have got decaff coffee today though! I'm taking my preg vits so that makes me feel better

purplebella · 10/11/2016 21:20

Hi glass I've just seen your post, so sorry I missed it!? Good luck, it's all so stressful! I was so happy yesterday, then today I've been really scared it won't lastConfused

MrsBobDylan · 10/11/2016 22:02

I just want to eat cheese, pickle and anything salty. I am eating alot of chicken soup with barley. I think it's because I make it quite salty!

Seahawk80 · 10/11/2016 22:20

Hello to everyone new!

I'm eating all the carbs and I never normally do! I told my boss today as we don't normally work in the same office but I was over there today and I need to come in late after the scan on tuesday. The canteen at head office do the most carby greasy lunches and I always used to moan about them but I was joking with her that I might transfer back for the rest of the pregnancy!

Damson - glad you're staying positive, another day down! I'm feeling fairly positive, mainly as I feel like I have an awful hangover all the time so hopefully that means something is happening!

wildone81 · 11/11/2016 11:13

So no one told me about middle of the night sickness...... not impressed!

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 11/11/2016 11:22

Hey seahawk It sounds wrong to say it but I'm glad you're feeling rotten 😂 I woke up this morning and my nipples were on fire, think I'm going to have to start wearing a stretchy bra/crop top thingy to bed now.
wildone my first pregnancy symptom was vomiting at 4am, it's not fun is it!

Notyetthere · 11/11/2016 13:36

OohNoDooEy · 11/11/2016 13:48

Wow, look at all those! Can't believe we're up to the 19th already!

I was thinking today that you usually start to get positive results on 10 DPO so I probably ovulated on 3rd October and 38 weeks from then is 3rd July so will see what the scan says.

Only a week and a half until the booking appointment. I'm trying to work out when to tell work. I have no leave left until next year so can't take any holiday for the booking appt and 12 week scan. I think I'm going to go off sick for the booking appt though as it feels very early to tell them.

rhodes2015 · 11/11/2016 14:32

Oohnoo, My booking in appointment is a week and a half away too. Feel like I'm wishing my life away just to get to 12 week scan!!

Congratulations all the new Bfps!
And hope everyone is doing well!!!

Sasspop · 11/11/2016 16:02

Same here Rhodes I just want that 12 week scan to know it's all okay and share the news and then time can slow down again haha!

Notyetthere its first pregnancy for me don't know what DC stands for tho x

Seahawk80 · 11/11/2016 17:29

Ha ha thanks Damson! I know what you mean! I haven't been sick yet but constantly on the edge and don't really fancy any food. When I do eat though beige and carbs are all I can stomach. I find smoothies / juice ok so trying to have one a day to at least get some vitamins.

Oohno my dr said there is no obligation to tell your employer yet. My work has terrible sick pay and you lose overtime you have accrued if you come in late so I told them as I wanted to be paid and also it's very client facing so if I do get bad news I want them to know that I need to take a bit of a step back for a few days. if it wasn't for those issues I'd just have told them after the scan.

MrsBobDylan · 11/11/2016 18:48

Had a scan today to check it had landed in the right place, rather than residing in a fallopian tube and it looks good on that score. I'm only 5+1 according to my calculations and it is too small to see anything other than a tiny little blob.

I've been so worried about lots of things since I got my bfp that I've sort of forgotton to be excited. It felt good today to see that there was actually something there! Am going back when I'll be 7+4 so am keeping my fingers crossed it'll all be good.

Hope you guys are coping with feeling sicky, sore boobs etc and all the worries that come with early pregnancy.

Notyetthere · 11/11/2016 19:25

Sass - DC stands for dear child, so if this is going to be your 2nd child then DC2. I will update the list when I get home.

wildone81 · 11/11/2016 20:48

I should update then...will be DC1 for us. Means we have nothing to compare with though so it's all just terrifying Confused

Any tips from someone who's done it before about getting to first scan with sanity intact?

purplebella · 11/11/2016 21:06

I'm sorry wildone but this is my 3rd and I'm still freaking out and worrying it won't be a sticky bean!

MrsBobDylan · 11/11/2016 21:38

wildone I think how we feel is determined by how we are normally. My normal way of coping with life is to switch off to everything I'm worried about then have sudden panics which arrive without warning. I'm exactly the same in pregnancy which means most of the time I don't think about the bad things which can happen, until I do and then I have to ring dh to talk me back down!

Sorry, not terribly helpful!

wildone81 · 11/11/2016 22:05

You could be right though.... I'm trying very hard to be positive but I'm naturally more on the 'glass half empty' side! Can't stop myself having a wee google at prams though!

LuciBee231015 · 11/11/2016 22:18

Midwife called me today and booked me in for my booking appointment on 2nd December, seems ages away!!
