Are you taking aspirin tea?

teainbed · 04/11/2016 12:44

Yes. I was advised to take it from 12 to 36 weeks. My BP is always perfect until I stop work. Confused

Adventuregame · 04/11/2016 12:52

'Comfy' jeans just arrived from Seraphine. Not tried them on yet as I'm at work but they feel and look lovely ! Will update after trying. If they fit well I am so happy about being able to wear something nicer than joggers this weekend !

Brightsmoke I'm also going back to work. Staying at home just isn't for me. I know it'll be harder than I imagine putting the baby into childcare full time at six months but going back to work is important to me. Could you go part time?

Brightsmoke · 04/11/2016 13:10

Tea, unfortunately not! As much as I would love to still work.

Rabbity, part time would still be 12 hour shifts, but either days or nights, not both. Maybe it's fate pushing me into a different career.

Yay for a good scan McBaby, it's so lovely isn't it!

Rabbitykins55 · 04/11/2016 13:16

Brightsmoke oh that's a shame. I'm sure it'll all work out in the end. If it's meant to be it's meant to be. Smile

Badgerbird · 04/11/2016 13:21

bright the part time option you mentioned sounds like it could work pretty well no? If you found a good nanny, they may be happy to do 2-3 13 hour shifts a week, esp if that's their only job.... I've been a nanny on and off for 20 yrs :) I'm thinking some of that is night shift too is it? Could be more tricky....

Badgerbird · 04/11/2016 13:24

anne can't be too much longer now is it? Just take deep breaths and try to occupy your mind with whatever you are doing, stay mindful, or think about happy memories :) You'll be fine :)

Flingmoo · 04/11/2016 13:56

Let us know how it goes Gurtie! I'm really excited for mine too.

Talking of dreams I had an odd one last night that I told my Nan in confidence that I was pregnant but didn't want to tell anyone for a couple more weeks until I've had my scan. Then I found out she told literally every single one of my relatives so I had no-one left to announce it too. In the dream I cried and cried! Was nice to wake up and find that was all a dream.

FoxMulder · 04/11/2016 15:29

I told my boss today and it was mega cringe. He just folded his arms and said "right". I said "well I thought I should tell you..." and he didn't say much else. Awkward.

Haven't got a 26wk appointment here yet. I need to make it directly with my midwife but not sure who is supposed to call whom and when.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 04/11/2016 16:06

Fox your boss is an absolute twat.

I'm just back from my scan. They decided I was too early (10+4) for them to do what they needed to do so I'm going to have to go back in a week or so, but I'm so grateful I had this opportunity to see my baby. It was kicking its legs and the little heart was beating. Last time I had a scan I had devastating news so I was lying there with a knot in my stomach and started to cry when I saw her move, and my DP let a tear too. I forget how heartbreaking the miscarriage was for him too. Oooo I could cry again.

Hope all the others having scans today and bringing back happy news.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 04/11/2016 16:07

And for no reason other than hunch I decided that we're having a girl.

MissMooMoo · 04/11/2016 16:18

All well for us too! Baby was bouncing around.
Moved forward 3 days so due the 17th now.
Neck fold was 1.7 and he said that is low risk. Booked our 20 week scan for dec 30 Smile

FoxMulder · 04/11/2016 16:18

Yay Jon great news!

FoxMulder · 04/11/2016 16:19

Yay missmoo. Due date buddy! I was also offered scam for 30th Dec but I'm away over new year!

1004Rise · 04/11/2016 16:22

Yeay! For all the good scans today, starting to get nervous for mine next week!

Fox your boss is an idiot! Maybe next week he'll lighten up a bit!

I've ordered bras from mothercare in 3 different cup sizes, I swear every time I look they've got bigger! I think I'm going to be visiting the post office frequently over the next few months!

Eagerly awaiting the jeans report Adventure!

Adventuregame · 04/11/2016 17:01

1004Rise well......... I did quickly try them on at my lunch break but over tights so couldn't get the proper feel for them but it was looking good. You'll have to wait til I get home tonight I'm afraid and after a commute out of London on Southern Rail train strike day that won't be til after 7.30pm (can't wait for mat leave) !!

Congratulations on your scans mcbaby and missmoo! JonSnow I'm so pleased you got to see the baby and it's good you've got another scan shortly.

Fox that is such a bizarre reaction from your boss.

My boss called me into his office today ( uh oh) but it was because we've had a few posts out for promotion and he was surprised why I hadn't applied for any of them. So I told him I'm planning to apply but I'm pregnant... Luckily he was very good about it and said it wouldn't affect their decision. Clearly wants to eradicate my current role! So now I plan to spill the beans to my colleagues from next week.

RasperryInAMelon · 04/11/2016 18:41

Had such an exhausting day today... we had our final wedding last night, got back to our hotel gone midnight, couldn't sleep properly and have consequently been up since 8am.

DH and I drove back and have trawled Lakeside, Bluewater and IKEA today. Literally cannot wait to get home, have a hot bath and crawl into bed.

Had a stinking headache today and refrained from paracetamol as my GP has advised me against it which has now resulted in me having a near on migraine Sad

Sounds like some of you have had interesting days at work telling your bosses and going to your scans! I'm 11w today and have another 10 days to wait till my next scan but cannot wait!

Badgerbird · 04/11/2016 18:49

Big congrats jonsnow and missy such lovely news Smile

AnneLovesGilbert · 04/11/2016 19:33

So glad people have had happy news, I've been thinking of you all.

Scan didn't go well for us today, a MMC. Baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. Being medically managed, hopefully at home, and as this is my third MC I've been referred to the recurrent MC clinic and some testing so hopefully we can have an easier time if we conceive again.

I'm heartbroken to be leaving you all, it's been a wonderful group and you're a beautiful, brave, kind and supportive bunch of women. I wish you all only the best of luck with healthy, easy pregnancies and gorgeous babies at the end of the journey.

All my love x

PeachIcedT · 04/11/2016 19:42
