callie-happy belated birthday.glad things are looking up after jordi's x-rays,hope everything is fine when the specialist has a look.

3rdTriMossTer · 31/01/2007 16:54

Diva I haven't had any BH yet but I have sore norks too, I think they're on the grow again.

Pmsl at your dp's ringtone although perhaps in some quarters it might not be appreciated!!

Piffle · 31/01/2007 17:29

CAllie just wanted to say I'm glad nothing obvious showed up in todays xrays and hope further investigations give you the same answer
Thre is nothing quite as worrying as worrying about a newborn. We went to hell and back with dd and it is such a load to carry.
Good luck with your continued feeding efforts, sounds like he is doing really well
Thx for the updates too xx

foxabout2pop · 31/01/2007 19:16

Diva - My norks are sore too in a kind of PMT way but with very tender nips added in.

Callie what a lovely surprise from your friends It must've given you a boost and a bit of relief from all the intense worry - the news so far sounds quite encouraging though.

Mossy/Rosy - I never saw Cazenova either - clearly I missed out greatly. Will have to try and get it on DVD - have seen a whole new aspect to DT today!

Rosylily · 31/01/2007 19:45

Diva I liked your dream it sounds like fun! Lets do it!!!!

Callie belated happy birthday! Sounds like a lovely party you had. I am so pleased to hear that so far things seem ok and I continue to think about you guys and keep everything crossed. It's also lovely to hear about the bath and the feeding.

Fox you have probably got sore boobs cuz you are in early labour Or maybe its all the excitement of DT
Actually mine feel a bit heavy... is it a full moon soon?? Actually don't women go into labour around the full moon, where did I hear that labour wards are busier then? Everyone take it easy! No currys, or nipple twiddling until the next full moon!!!

Moss your DH sounds a scream. In future he'll be sending you mad scenarios involving your children and your pets!

Amie I'm going to ask my mw tomorrow what happens here about strep B.

TheBlonde · 31/01/2007 19:50

Full moon is 2nd Feb I think
(also I've heard rumours that mumsnet goes a bit mad when it's a full moon )

divastrop · 31/01/2007 19:59

i'll happilly go into laboutr on the next full moon

fox-you're allowed to go into labour soon, arent you?are you going to start helping things along or are you going to leave everything alone??

sazzybee · 31/01/2007 20:03

Aargh - my parents flight got delayed because of fog.

So I have had to ring the doctor and change my dad's appointment, ring my nan and tell her (cue 2 hour phone conversation) and ring the hospital about something else.

I mean, it's not a huge deal but I'm very pregnant, still working full time with a 45 minute commute each way and single. I'm so tired when I get home I want to cry.

I have two sisters - both married. One only works part time and the other had the day off to compete in a riding competition thingy.

Why bloody ring me?

Sorry for the whinge. Just had to get that off my chest.

DollyPopsOut · 31/01/2007 20:06

Hello ladies

Got my CS booked for 19th March. Really lovely dr, had a good chat then wrote in my notes "first labour slightly traumatic". I asked him what had to happen for him to consider it just traumatic and he said a placental abruption ! Still, he said he thought a CS was a good idea in the circs and he hoped he'd be on duty to do it himself.

I then went into work and had one of the most awful days I've had in the 9 years I've worked there. Am seriously tempted to say eff the money and sod off on leave now, just to leave them in a hole. I won't, of course, as we can't afford it but it's soooo tempting. And DD is giving me the run around as well this evening, DH polished off the last glass of wine last night so there is none for me and as a result I am mighty fed up. Sorry I can't reply to veryone. Good news about Jordi, Callie.

I'll be back later once I've got my sense of humour back .

Rosylily · 31/01/2007 20:18

That's great you got the result you wanted from the dr. Shame you had a hard day, you need a nice easy evening!

Sazzy your family must think of you as co-ordinator. Maybe go on strike a bit, so they get the message that you need looking after for a while!

divastrop · 31/01/2007 20:42

sazzy-you sound like you have the same role in your family as my mother has.my mum is a widow and works about 600 hours a week, and doesnt drive, but her brother and sister still expect her to run round after my nan, taking her for hospital appts etc(shes being treated for lung cancer atm).my uncle rarely goes into work and has tons of money, him+his wife go on holiday about 8 times a year.
are you the eldest?

dolly-glad you have your cs booked.how many weeks will you be then?

sazzybee · 31/01/2007 20:57

Thanks for the sympathy

No I'm not the eldest, diva, but I do seem to fulfil that sort of role. I'm the middle one - my older sister was a bit of a wild child and I was always the dependable one.

I think my family have just got used to me not having my own family and so being able to help out a lot. I'm usually happy to do it but right now I'm just about coping looking after myself - I don't have much left over for anyone else.

You're right rosylily - I do need to go on strike

Anyway - enough moaning. So glad to hear that things are looking a bit more positive for Jordi. Fingers xed it continues.

Ooh dolly - you've got a date booked! That's so exciting

ps I watched Casanova twice. It's fantastic. I highly recommend it

eidsvold · 31/01/2007 21:25

dolly - glad to hear you got a date. Welcome to the club - mine is the 23rd. Anything hints I can give you to make it go smoother/easier - jsut let me know ( this will be my 3rd).

For me - some essentials

granny knickers - to go over the wound - cheap ones you can chuck.

tea tree oil for bathing wound.... warm water and a few drops of tea tree oil, pat on your wound and then pat dry with paper towels( I used to keep a roll in the bathroom ready)

arnica tablets - to help with healing.

boomerang pillow - for feeding to protect wound

Callie glad to hear you have some good news

well you may laugh about the stripping down to knickers - not a pleasant sight with my huge bump. Always fear someone will choose that moment to pop in and see me.

today is a cooler day - thank goodness and no where near the humidity we have been having.

sazzybee · 31/01/2007 21:35

btw - I wasn't trying to say that life is a bed of roses if you have a dp - I know it isn't

spongecake · 31/01/2007 22:48

hi all-another new thread! can't beleive how fast its all going now.

rosy-haven't had any more bh since I posted, so am trying to get my head around coping better when i get the next one

am trying to rest loads and can't wait to stop work and have a lie in, siesta in the afternoon, just rest lots really.

hpe you all sleep well

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 06:14

Hi Sponge

Dolly - sorry you had such a crap day yesterday Just think, in a few weeks, you'll have forgotten all about work!

Sazzy - your family must know you are the reliable one. That's a big compliment isn't it? Mine also don't realise how busy I am - one sister doesn't work, the other works but is single with no kids. Yet I get comments all the time like "Oh, your sister is so busy" and "Whenever I call, you're never there to answer the phone, so I have to leave a message".....doh?

Anyway, perhaps just keep making the point to them about how tired you are etc. Hopefully the new born will open their eyes a bit so they'll see you in a new role.

Slept from 8pm - 5.30am - 9.5 hours sleep just sitting here enjoying my three favourite things after David Tennant:

Cup of decaff PG tips
Cadbury's chocolate
Mumsnet

Have a tour tonight of Queen Charlottes active birth centre - going to inspect the disco balls and lava lamps!

When I booked the midwife said, "how many weeks are you".

I said 36+2

She said "What??? Is this your second baby?"

"No 3rd"

She started laughing and said:

"You can tell the first time Mums, as they tour the centre once they get to 12 weeks pregnant. With the 3rd time Mum's, they tour the centre about a week before their EDD!"

Going off to get dressed now

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 06:44

Morning all!

Sazzybee could you go on strike for a few days, just to make them realise how much you do? It does sound really unfair making you run around. To use my favourite phrase, "you shouldn't be doing that in your condition"!

Foxy hope the disco balls and lava lamps were in good working order. I have my tour booked for the 21st Feb, I don't know if they have disco balls but I believe you get your own room with a bath, that'll do me!

And I am enjoying one of my favourite things. In fact I'm actually having alcohol in the morning! No before you panic, it's a baileys chocolate bar... mmmmmm!

Dolly glad you got your date but sorry you're having such a crappy time at work, when do you go off on your mat leave again? Is there any way you could go sooner?

Eids I must admit atm I'm partial to walking round the house in nothing but bra and undies, and I just know one day one of our neighbours will just pop round. I'm gonna have to start locking the front door!!

Rosy I'll stay away from sex, curry, nipple tweaking and raspberry tea until the full moon's well and truly gone!

Btw has anyone ever tried that rasberry tea thing or is it just an old wives' tale?

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 07:25

Morning,
Dolly glad you've got your date sorted but sorry you had a rotton day

Boo, great that you have got the mat cover sorted

Callie that's good news so far, lets hope you get a difinitive answer today

I'm very of all you ladies who are looking forward to a rest.

My friend who is due in a couple of weeks and has the lovely husband who gave me a big hug the other day, went off with her hubby to spend the evening and night in a posh hotel in Brighton (nudge, nudge, wink, wink ). I thought that was lovely and told dp, his attitude was " What's the point in doing that she can't get pissed up?"
I had to point out to him that there were other ways of enjoying oneself and I'm sure they would find many ways to amuse themselves. He didn't get it. Silly fart.

LunarSea · 01/02/2007 08:15

Moss - I have to work for about an hour in the morning before taking ds to school, and usually end up tumbling out of bed and heading downstairs to my PC in just my dressing gown. Have been caught like that by early Parcel deliveriy poeple more than once.

Leoladyofleisure · 01/02/2007 09:22

hi all,
Callie that's really positive news about Jordi! Keeping hope for you that the news stays positive. Great about him feeding from you as well, its a really good start. what a great little guy he must be, with a fantastic mum !
It was also my birthday on Saturday.... I was 35!

Lol at your email convs with your DHs!

SOrry the talk about David Tennant is lost on me, I have absolutely no idea who he is !

By the way, my waters broke with ds around full moon. The hospital was mad during my stay there! You should also stay off pineapple, I love it and didn't realise, until someone told me, that I was getting really strong BHs after eating it.

Sazzy, I think you need to learn to say no and realise that the only person at the moment that matters is you!
Similar but different with my family, my mum is a retired nurse but absolutely skint so still working ("well in those days we relied on our husbands pensions so didn't bother with our own"), my brothers and sisters who all earn well quite happily take £100 off her each (and money for each of their children) for christmas and birthdays. Makes me MAD !

More painful contractions last night but it seems to be quieter during the day, struggling to walk now, very painful and exhausting. I have to lift my belly when I turn over a night if not it gets left behind!

Rosylily · 01/02/2007 09:23

Kitty my sister and her dp are leaving the kids with the inlaws and heading off over valentines just the two of them. The whole idea is on a different planet to me at the moment! So much so that I'm not even envious! I'd like to deposit the children and the bump with dh and head off on my own in fact.

Spongecake glad it wasn't labour yet! It is hard to rest and take it easy but that is probably what we should all be doing in an ideal world.

My two little ones have taken to carrying baby dolls around, cuddling them at night and generally being cute and excited about babies!

Rosylily · 01/02/2007 09:27

Leo belated happy birthday!

Leoladyofleisure · 01/02/2007 09:27

Rosy, my MIL has got ds a doll, he loves it, cuddle it, feeds it, gives it milk, puts it under the babygym, sings it to sleep doen't have the patience to change its clothes though. I think/hope it all helps with the acceptance of the arrival of the new ones.

Leoladyofleisure · 01/02/2007 09:28

Thanks, it was a bit of a non-event this year!

LunarSea · 01/02/2007 09:29

Leo - I love fresh pineapple, but am keeping off it for the next few weeks as with ds I'd bought one but had only managed to eat half of it before my waters went. Will be having them every day once it's time for this one to pop out though - that's if they don't decide that 40 weeks is going to be too long. Growth rate is still looking like s/he is going to be big - so I've got to have a growth scan at 36 weeks, and if that confirms it things could have to happen earlier rather than later.
