Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

That's great neha
Can't help with the co-sleeping I'm afraid geneva I've never done it. Although at the moment this little guy doesn't seem to believe in sleeping at night!

bikingintherain · 13/06/2016 16:13

So I just had a quite thorough sweep. And am booked in for another on Wed and Fri. It seems when I said I wanted to do everything possible to get things moving and avoid induction my midwife took me very seriously!

And although I'm royally fed up of pregnancy now I'm at a point where it will definitely only be one more week and there's a clear plan to get things going I definitely don't feel quite so down about it not happening yet.

Hope others are holding in there ok!

lovelilies · 13/06/2016 16:26

Good luck biking.

I've been having quite regular contractions today, especially when lying down Hmm
Not sure they're getting much stronger though.. Called DP back from work just in case. Having my first home birth and want to be prepared! But to be honest, I'd like to get rid of DCs and DP and just be alone! Does that sound odd?

MagicDucky · 13/06/2016 16:33

This is me today.

magicducky omg absolutely!!

lovelilies Keep us posted. Sounds positive though

MindfulBear · 13/06/2016 17:44

Love wanting to be alone sounds like you might be heading into the eye of the storm as it were! I bet you go into full on labour once the kids are in bed!!! (Perhaps send DP to bed early so you can have some on your own time?)

Well I've been cramping all day here. Been awake since 5am so about to go for a lie down and listen to my Hypnobirthing / meditation medleys.

Had reflexology this morning which meant I had a lovely restorative nap! But was still cramping at the end of it.

Then went and had my highlights done. Cramped all the way through that. Now move just made a huge bolognase..... Am wondering if the cramps are getting worse but not sure!

They were all around my pelvic girdle - like a belt - back sides and front! - quite low down! Now it's just at the front. Like period cramping that comes on just before you start/at the start.....

However walking and moving on my ball seem to calm the cramps down so not sure what it is

She was really active yesterday but very quiet today - she was having a proper wriggle yesterday. Was most bizarre.

So really not sure what to make of it. Is this the start? Or is this going to drag on for days?!

Last time I ended up being induced so have no idea!!!! Let's hope I can get through DS bedtime ok. Have sent the au pair off on her own to pick him up from nursery. It's her first time driving on her own here so I hope she is ok!!!! And I hope DS doesn't get worried that she is in her own. He keeps asking when the baby will be ready!

PissPotPourri · 13/06/2016 17:45

Oooh, thinking of you lovelilies

lovelilies · 13/06/2016 17:47

Sound just the same as me mindful!
DD is stropping cos she will be late for climbing because dinner isn't ready and it starts at 6.. I just reminded her that I think labour is starting so her social calendar slipped my mind! Gah- 11 year olds!!!

lovelilies · 13/06/2016 18:27

Just trying to decipher the TENS instructions Confused
DP dropped DD off at climbing but unfortunately DS had a late nap so doubt he'll be in bed soon ..

All you ladies expecting DC 1 enjoy the peace and quiet!!

Eastend2015 · 13/06/2016 18:59

May make you all giggle seeing as I couldn't possibly confess to anyone in RL about this- DH and I were feeling amorous earlier so actually managed a shag (no mean feat!). Afterwards I felt two gushes of liquid- not loads, maybe an eggcup full which seemed more like water than man juice! Anyway, I rang the midwife to be on the safe side and she has told us to go in and be checked in case my waters have gone (I'm sure they haven't). Just got to triage to be told it'll be a 2 hour wait!? DH is both grumpy to be missing the football and a little contrite over causing so much trouble!!

MollieRos · 13/06/2016 19:00

I'm struggling to keep up with this thread now, though I really enjoy reading how everyone's getting on when I get chance. It's so interesting reading everyone's birth stories.

Congratulations to everyone who's had babies!

Mindful sounds like it could be the start of things, fingers crossed it doesn't drag on!

Neha great news! Keep persevering, and hopefully you'll get there- slowly slowly.

We're struggling with feeding still, there was some improvement after we had mini MollieRos's tongue tie released, but he still really struggles to latch. I'm finding the pain quite difficult to manage, but I'm determined to keep going. We've had support from the local breastfeeding support team and have another appointment at the tongue tie clinic this week, so I'm hopeful that we'll get there in the end.

PissPotPourri · 13/06/2016 19:29

Had a x post with mindful earlier...now thinking of you too! Good luck ladies, really hope this is it for you both and everything goes smoothly

strawberrypenguin · 13/06/2016 19:53

Ooh good luck lovelillies and midful hope this is it for both of you and baby's don't keep you waiting for too long.

emma85x · 13/06/2016 21:33

mindful I've booked to get my highlights done in the morning to cheer myself up a bit (39+5 tomorrow) Place your bets now on waters breaking/contractions starting just as she's put all of the foils in my hair 😂 Then off for some reflexology in the afternoon. Really looking forward to tomorrow. I wonder if Sod's law will kick in?!! LOL

dollydaydream84 · 13/06/2016 21:43

Mollie I'm also lost on who has had babies and who hasn't! I haven't yet :D I don't know your exact pain but it took a good 3 weeks for the pain to diminish from feeding, even after that I would have some pain. Are you using a Lansinoh type cream for EVERY feed? I couldn't feed once without cream. It annoys me that the experts say it shouldn't hurt when they feed but nearly everyone I know had some pain for the first few weeks. Have you tried nipple shields? I haven't but have read they are very useful. Good luck xx

Neha - Yay for BF! Sounds like you are making great progress!

Emma - Yep! How long do they take to do?! Could be one glamorous hospital visit :D

My leg went warm in the supermarket earlier and I absolutely panicked thinking my waters had broken mid-shop but turns out it had just randomly gone warm, very weird but very relieved!!

Eastend - that'll make him think twice about getting frisky again when the footy is due on and his partner is v pregnant! Very amusing! Hope all is OK for you!

How are all the potentially labouring ladies doing?!

lovelilies · 13/06/2016 22:33

Thanks for wishes, still not sure if it's a false start or not.. I took myself off to bed in DS room at 7.30 feeling tired and achy. Slept for an hour or so and got woken by noisy kids downstairs... Had some Of DDs birthday cake and gone back to bed letting DP deal with bed time..

Using tens for backache, feels very weird but seems to help (if I switch it off, pain increases) so I'm leaving it on while I try and sleep some more.

Will try and update if anything actually does happen!

iamdivergent · 13/06/2016 22:40

Dolly if you look at the spreadsheet it's fairly up to date Smile no names but usernames, baby birth dates and sex are all there. I haven't updated it since Saturday but unsure if any have arrived since then.

OP posts:
iamdivergent · 13/06/2016 22:41

I am also in quite alot of pain tonight but no change there! Maybe one night they'll turn into something a bit more Grin

OP posts:
dollydaydream84 · 13/06/2016 23:01

Aww thanks divergent I always forget about the spreadsheet - so much so, I'm not on it :D Hope your BH turn into super fast contractions soon :)

GenevaJoey · 13/06/2016 23:19

Thanks for all who has given advice needed on sleeping. Last night wasn't too bad. Not as much sleep as when she was in the bed as stayed awake for feeds, but survivable. Turfed DH out into spare room as he was going back to work and didn't want to worry about him being disturbed. Hoping tonight goes smoothly but my parents are visiting so DH had to stay with us by in our bed. Will be happy if we can make this Chicco cot work but have made bed co sleeping safe anyway.

For those having trouble with painful bleeding cracked nipples, I would be recommend this: www.amazon.co.uk/Silverette-Nursing-Cups-Soothing-Breasts/dp/B00D4MWKNQ mine were very agony the first few days and all but the midwives recommended them here. Not sure if very they're as common in Uk. Anyway it worked magic. Within 24 hours there was significant improvement and no more pain at all now. You put a couple of drops of milk in the cup and wear them on nipples while not feeding. Really recommend.

Eastend2015 · 14/06/2016 07:04

Thanks dolly!! Ended up spending 5 hours in triage. When I finally got seen, they put a monitor on for about 30 mins then was given a very thorough internal examination. Apparently the midwife couldn't find my cervix?! Hmm she then said I'm 2cm dilated and she was amazed I couldn't feel contractions!! Keeping active til the last minute clearly has benefits! Anyway, got home around midnight and I think I've been losing my plug over night- been up and down to the loo and lots of lovely pink snotty discharge. I'm feeling quite uncomfortable (and now tired to boot) but no contractions!!!

bikingintherain · 14/06/2016 07:33

On the bright side eastend if you're having contractions and your cervix is dialating a bit, yet you don't feel it, that's got to be a good thing! I do know someone who dilated up to 9cm and barely felt anything. Everyone's dream labour! But I do hope you can get a bit of rest before it fully kicks off.

I've been having strong BH, boardering on quite painful, but they are very sporadic so am not anticipating an imminent labour yet. As I described to DH, I wasn't experiencing more than I would expect having had my cervix messed about with yesterday.

Eastend2015 · 14/06/2016 08:04

Thanks biking!! Just been kicked out the marital bed for trying to eat toast because DH is "really tired and trying to get some sleep" Angry It's annoying not knowing how long this is going to last now- I was so convinced the baby was going to be late!!

clarish84 · 14/06/2016 09:29

I would like to introduce isaac Michael born 13.6.16 at 5am weighing 8lb 2 41 weeks
After deciding I'd have a pj day he decided he wasn't going to move all day . So at 3pm we went to monitored he was fine but they decided as he still wasn't moving much they would induce me . I was 2cm dilated so the broke my water 6pm . At 8pm nothing was happening so they put me on a drip they kept putting it up because nothing was happening . 3am started with pains 4mins apart then 1min a part it all just went from nothing to everything in a split second. Ii was on gas and are the midwife thought I'd be ready to have him but when examine was only 3cm I was telling her somthing was wrong after I had a shooting pain up the side of my bump but shed given me more drugs and said it was prob just that . They got the consultant because baby heart was up and down I was 5cm when she checked and she decided to take me for an emergency section as baby kept moving up and down . They took me in operating and knocked me out and found when they opened me that my previous section had opened and torn up the side. I lost 2 and half liters of blood .baby was good and I'm doing ok now just took most of yesterday to feel human . Isaac is on neonatal at min being monitored so I've only actually seen him for about 2 hours but they said he should be with me soon x sorry if I upset anyone just thought I'd sure x x
