Congrats Thom!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 19/06/2016 16:55

I've made a document with all the stats. Let me know if it works or if I've got anything wrong. We can add the new arrivals then.

Congratulations Thom I hope you get newborn snuggles soon and feel better. I'm sure you will be home before you know it. Enjoy the rest in hospital while you can.

Rubytuesday2980 · 19/06/2016 17:08

Oh, wow, what a busy weekend!

Huge congratulations to Speak and Thom Flowers Flowers , hope you are both doing well. Great name Speak :) Thom I hope you are both being well looked after and you get to spend some more time together very soon.

SpeakNoWords · 19/06/2016 17:13

Wow, Thom, it was an exciting day yesterday :-) congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. 4lbs seems like a good weight for 34 weeks, and hopefully you'll be able to have a cuddle soon.

I'm doing ok so far, had one little wobble this morning when it was a bit overwhelming, but the midwives were very kind and sorted me out. I think I've finally finished all the blood tests and other invasive procedures, so I'm starting to feel a bit more back to normal. I'd forgotten exactly how sore it is after a c section! Pain killers are definitely the way forward :-)

HopesAndDreams15 · 19/06/2016 17:19

Congratulations Speak and Thom!! Flowers

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the July babies arriving over the weeks ahead!...and it's made me think that I must pack my hospital bag!

Hope the preggo's are all still bearing up...I seriously can't wait for baby to arrive!! Just been out for a carvery for Father's Day for DH, didn't overdo it but I'm seriously wondering if it's possible to literally explode! Confused

AnnaT45 · 19/06/2016 17:44

Ahhhh thom congrats! What a gorgeous girl you have! I bet it was a big shock but she's safe now and sounds like being well looked after. I hope you get cuddles soon. Take it really easy on yourself to recover. A few of us have had c sections so happy to help on advice if you need it.

I also encourage all the mums to post lots of newborn pics. I'll never tire of them Grin

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/06/2016 17:45

I wish this baby would get a flipping move on. I'm so fed up! I keep getting pains and twinges, but they don't lead to anything. I just feel generally sore and grumpy.

pulpi · 19/06/2016 18:03

Has anyone dropped yet? If so, around which week did you drop? Spent another few hours on the ball today and I thought he dropped because I suddenly felt pressure, but turned out I just had to pee. Again.

Ellizardo · 19/06/2016 18:21

thom - what a beauty! congratulations! i am just so thrilled she's here and ok. can't wait for more pics and a cuddle update! 4lbs ain't bad for 34 weeks.

speak - Corin is clearly a legend already. what a fab name. no pressure thom on coming up with something equally amazing.

youandme - you did make me laugh, after reading all these 'congrats!!' posts to find yours: mega pissed off and wanting it all to be over. i feel your pain, especially as we had the in laws over this weekend and Teddy decided he'd start wheezing and snot-bagging everywhere.

beaut - niiiiice spreadsheet. all i would add is that i'm due a ELCS on 6 July but not sure that qualifies as a spreadsheet amend? am i supposed to go in and amend...? i am such a technotwat.

cookies - how's the corn pox coming along? (anna - that could really take off!) hopefully you've had it as a kid. i certainly still bear the scars!

hope everyone had good father's days ... though it felt far more a mother's day weekend for this thread!

I have a lot of catching up to do!!!

Congratulations thom what a whirlwind!!! Your baby girl is gorgeous. Let me know if you want any advice on the NICU. Luca's corrected age is now 34 weeks (pretty sure we were due date buddies). I recognise some of the equipment on your little girl. Here are some birth / now pics which will hopefully inspire you that your little girl will be off machines and in your arms soon!

Going to read through rest of thread in bath tonight and catch up (my first time in the tub since c section!!!!)

Cookiesandcoffee · 19/06/2016 18:51

Wow!! congratulations thom !! Good going indeed for 34 weeks, we really are on a roll now with the babies! Beautiful baby girl and hope she goes from strength to strength. Excited to hear her name :)

fifi very happy for you on your bath! How is little Luca doing?

beaut that's very professional on the stats front! Wow!!

Happy for mine to arrive any time now that's for sure. So ridiculously big and uncomfortable. 38 weeks tomorrow. Struggling to fit behind the steering wheel of the car- anyone else?!

the corn pox (haha anna ) becoming more and more apparent. She's fine in herself though, thanks ladies. Luckily I've had it, but DD was born at 38 1/2 weeks so this one could in theory arrive any day. And her sister probably is infected by now but not showing signs. I don't know how much immunity babies have at birth?! Also really selfish of me to think she now has to have a week or so off school?! Hmm and I have an antenatal appointment that clearly I can't take her to as it's in the DAU this week.

Happy Father's Day to the dads who have become dads this weekend! And all those eagerly awaiting to be made one

dats · 19/06/2016 18:58

Massive congrats, Thom, she's beautiful!

beckslovestimmy · 19/06/2016 19:31

Cookies and You I feel your pain!! 39+ 5 here. DD born at 38+1 so I'm already feeling overdue. DH had to ring work and cancel his paternity leave for next week. He's been off on a rest week this week and I was so sure baby would have made an arrival by now!! Busy day here, Father's Day, DH birthday and our wedding anniversary!!

AnnaT45 · 19/06/2016 19:36

I went to 40+12 with DD and she was dragged out lol! Horrendous! Hang on in there, it will be over soon- then there will be days when you wish they were back inside Grin

FiFi Luca is a babe!!!! You must be head over heels. Bath sounds lovely. I hope you're feeling ok? X

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/06/2016 19:37

To cap off what has already been a pretty crappy day (really not feeling Father's Day given that my dad died so recently) the tumble dryer has just packed up spectacularly. We cannot manage without one: we live in a flat with limited indoor and absolutely no outdoor drying space. Couldn't be worse timing. New one coming on Wednesday. I suppose I will go into labour on Tuesday night now...

photographerlady · 19/06/2016 20:11

speak congratulations what a lovely setup for the fathers day weekend and so agree with you on the lack of movement. They never mind someone coming in to get checked out and so glad its all worked out so well for you.

Cookiesandcoffee sorry to hear about the pox, I never had them and didn’t really worry about them til this pregnancy as a few expecting mums I know have had concerns.

Thom80 congrats! hope you and the little one are doing okay today

HopesAndDreams15 being full and pregnant can be pretty tough. I have had my moments this weekend.

FifiRebel hows the little one doing? Enjoy that bath!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut sorry to hear it was such a hard day :(

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 19/06/2016 21:01

Hopes get that bag packed. You are brave leaving it. I get stressed out over things like that. I keep moaning at DH that I need the baby bath out of the loft now. Because of course it can't possibly wait until I have an actual baby to put in it Grin

You don't wish it away try to enjoy these last few days/ weeks. It so full on once they are here.

Pulpi I can never tell when I've dropped. I rely on the midwife to tell me. I definitely have that constant urge for a wee though which is usually a sign of the head engaging for me.

Eliz I will update it. I'm not very good with technology but thought it was about time we had a sheet as all the other threads do it.

Fifi thanks for the update he is gorgeous. What a difference in such a short space of time. Have they given you any indication of when you may be home.

Cookies I'm getting to the stage where I don't mind if baby come early now as I am uncomfortable but there are also things I want/need to do before his arrival. My roots need doing, eyelashes and a pedi. Plus I want the house spotless.
I was going to post about driving the other day. Only 5ft 2 so short arms and legs and really struggling to fit behind the wheel. So much so I'm only driving if completely necessary as I'm a bit worried in case of an emergency stop.
Not sure about babies chicken pox immunity after birth. I would ask the midwife.

Becks happy Wedding Anniversary. Have you done anything nice to celebrate your three in one occasions.

Those of you with children already. What are you doing childcare wise over the school holidays. Obviously we will all be in maternity leave. But I just wondered will you still be sending toddlers for a bit of a break or keep them home all holiday?

37+2

Cookiesandcoffee · 19/06/2016 21:19

Same beautician as I timed things to need doing at 39 weeks to keep me busy/ some thing to look forward to. I said the same to DH earlier about an emergency stop, as post dinner my belly was actually pushed slightly against the wheel. I'm also 5ft 2. I think baby has nowhere else to go when you're short! Re childcare I've had to take my youngest out of nursery for the holidays, mostly for cost reasons, as her nursery is expensive and with maternity I just can't justify it given I won't be working. I'm under no illusion it's going to be easy.

Crumbs anna I hadn't considered I might go that overdue. It sounds horrendous indeed.

becks I can't believe you're nearly 40 weeks. That's crazy. My dd2 was a week and a half later than dd1 and everyone told me she would be early too. It adds to the fed-up-ness in my experience, so I feel your pain. Sounds like you've had a very busy day today I hope it's been enjoyable. Happy Anniversary! Rubbish about paternity leave, does it not just kick in for him once baby comes? Would be one crazy day if baby had come today!

youandme that does sound crappy I'm really sorry to hear of your rotten luck. Not fair at all. Don't panic though!

MrsRolly · 19/06/2016 21:50

Congratulations Thom she's beautiful.

Fifi amazing pics of Luca he is so cute! Agree about the pics keep sharing :)

I have just finished writing my handover document for work and DH just had 2 beers watching the football so paranoid I may go into labour ha ha boy has deffo dropped down today I can poke actual room between my ribs now!! Is anyone else just bump his movements are actually quite painful I am sure I had more fluid last time but not sure if I am just over reacting seems a silly thing to call the midwife about!

We finished the nursery this weekend but had to order new Moses basket mattress and car seat as the one we had didn't work in our bongo so had to buy a seat that stays in and will use the base and joie in the other car thank heavens for Amazon!!

I am feeling so huge now I am really getting to the stage of being ready for him to be born now but could be weeks off I really hope he follows DD and is born at 37 weeks I feel massive like I've been pumped up over this last week.

36 weeks tomorrow and last week of work thinking if it all goes wrong on Thursday and we wake up to a leave vote at least I will have last day of work to look forward to even wth dire referendum results. But hopefully it will be a doubly joyful day!!

birchybaby2 · 19/06/2016 21:59

Congratulations Thom and speak. Very impressed with the spread sheet too. The babies are starting to arrive. Xx

dats · 19/06/2016 22:18

Fifi Luca looks great - what a cutie! Hope you're both doing well!

Beaut please can I be added to the doc?
dats, age 43, DC2, location Sussex, EDD 17 July. In terms of childcare, once the new one has arrived and things have settled a bit, we'll drop DD down to 2 days a week at nursery (currently 3). It'll be a stretch, financially but if we can manage it, I think it would be good for her and for me.

dats 36w today Confused

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 20/06/2016 06:56

Felt so rotten last night at bed time that I thought things were kicking off: my back was killing me and I'm sure I had a few contractions. Put the TENS machine on and everything! But it trailed off. This stop start thing is tiring. I think a tiny bit of mucus plug (TMI, sorry!) has started to come away this morning so maybe it won't be much longer. Starting to feel the fear now! Funny how it feels like pregnancy is book ended by knicker checking: looked obsessively for bleeding in the first few weeks and now in the last few weeks I'm always looking for the plug!
