Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Sorry for the delay viroids! I have indeed done a baby, a massive one!

There was quite a lot of faff getting the induction started - rang at 8am on Thursday, told to come in at 1, but they were super busy so ended up going home for a few more hours. Stayed overnight even though I wasn't sure they would actually do it till morning, but they finally got the Propess in about 2.30am on Friday. I'll do a full birth story at some point, but the edited highlight is that Socklet/DS arrived at 1.41pm on Friday, weighing a whopping 10lb! He is a proper chunky monkey, but unfortunately not great at this breastfeeding thing, so we're still in hospital trying to get that sorted out, but hopefully home tomorrow.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for the support all the way through!

MyBlackCat · 25/09/2016 08:32

Congratulations sock Grin10lb!!! Wow Wink

NameChange30 · 25/09/2016 09:50

Woohoo, congratulations Sock! Grin

Canters15 · 25/09/2016 13:18

Congrats sock! In awe of your 10lber, that's insane! Well done you, hope you're feeling ok post birth and that you can escape the hospital soon.

LondonGirl83 · 25/09/2016 19:59

Congrats sock!

MyBlackCat · 26/09/2016 20:31

Hope everything is ok with you and socklet sock

Ive struggled a lot today, I have just over an hour commute to work each day and that plus work is getting more challenging. I'm just feeling very uncomfortable most of the time. Worked out I have 30 more working days left, I'm on countdown Smile

Also now the weather has changed I'm struggling for clothes, don't want to spend more on maternity clothes as only have a limited time to wear them. However I've only got two pairs of trousers other than my comfy trackies which I wear at home - might need to see what I can get on eBay Shock

AstridT · 27/09/2016 02:00

Hi, could someone please explain what this thread is for? Very confused!

NameChange30 · 27/09/2016 07:56

Hi Astrid, this thread is for women who are pregnant and who posted on the JS (Just Shagging) threads before getting pregnant.

ChatEnOeuf · 27/09/2016 09:00

I have my head fully in the sand about my maternity wardrobe, Black - two summer pregnancies (due June and Sept) mean I quite possibly will have nothing to wear! Except some trousers. Which is all that matters right now, the amount of pasta I've consumed in the last few weeks is frightening Grin Layer it up. I own a babywearing coat which would be good for a winter bump too.

Hi Astrid - it's an antenatal club. First post explains most of it.

Congrats Sock - hope the not-so-little one is getting some use of the newborn clothes and working out the feeding thing :)

Canters15 · 27/09/2016 19:05

chat, I love you- I couldn't work out what I wanted for dinner and now you've mentioned pasta I am gonna get me some carbs! ahem.

I've mainly given up on maternity clothes and am back wearing my leggings and tunics from last winter, which feels like something of a backward step at nearly 33 weeks pregnant. Thankfully I can get away with being a bit casual at current work place.

black I think an hours commute would finish me off. How many weeks will you be when you go on mat leave?

Saw a different midwife today and she predicted i'll have a 6lb baby, but said he might not even make that. I am measuring small but a bit surprised that she expects him to be so small! We may need to buy more newborn clothes if this turns out to be the case...

MyBlackCat · 27/09/2016 19:36

canters I finish at 36 weeks, wish it was sooner Sad I'm lucky in that I get to work from home some of the week, so this week is mon- wed in the office and thur/fri at home. Took me an hour twenty this morning, wasn't happy.

Had a letter from midwife, I'm anaemic so need to get iron prescription, might explain why I've been feeling a bit shit recently, hopefully tablets will help and not clog me up Shock

LondonGirl83 · 27/09/2016 20:20

MyBlackCat sorry you are feeling crap. Hopefully the tablets will help

Chat I'm mostly in denial about maternity clothes as well. I'm still at circa 20 weeks squeezing into my normal clothes. I look awful in them though. I'm just being cheap as I'd look much better if I'd go and get some proper maternity wear. I think I'll do so in a couple of weeks now that the weather is changing and the Autumn / Winter lines are out.

SockQueen · 28/09/2016 19:44

I don't think the newborn clothes will last long, Chat! He seems to be quite long in the body as well as chunky, so some of the vests don't easily do up. Fortunately I've got a lot of 0-3m stuff as well, so we're prepared, and the rest can just go to charity/get passed on to friends if needed.

We're getting on ok. Feeding was slow to get started but he does seem to be getting it - today's challenge is that now my milk has come in, it comes out so fast it makes my nipples all slippery so he keeps slipping off! He got weighed today and has lost 8%, which I guess is the upper limit of acceptable, but he otherwise looks well, is having wet/dirty nappies etc, so I'm trying not to worry and getting him weighed again in a couple of days - does that sound about right Chat?

I managed to get away with a fairly limited maternity wardrobe, thanks to being a bit overweight before pregnancy, so I didn't outgrow normal clothes very quickly, and then for the last weeks I wore lots of jersey dresses with leggings. I definitely need to get more feeding bras though.

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish MyBlackCat, hope the iron supplements help a bit!

FuzzyOwl · 28/09/2016 21:21

Hope the iron tablets help MyBlackCat. They did for me although the additional delightful side effects meant I changed to a gentler type.

My maternity wardrobe has mainly consisted on vest tops, jeans and what were once baggy cardigans. Everything from my last pregnancy was based on working in an office and it being winter. This time round dresses are not really so appropriate although my nightwear is definitely the most comfortable.

In my limited experience that sounds absolutely fine to me Sock and pleased to hear you are getting on ok.

Apart from PGP causing problems, all is ok here. Only two more weeks until I am considered term! Really must pack my bag now.

Canters15 · 29/09/2016 12:00

Glad the feeding is picking up sock. How are you feeling after the birth?

I've come home from work sick today (sodding pelvic pain) and now off for a week before a final week back pre mat leave. Am going to start buying stuff for the hospital bag next week as I keep panicking about going into labour and having nothing ready.

On the subject of clothes, what am I going to want to wear after a c section? Thinking a couple of nursing vests and bras, leggings and some baggy light jumpers I can lift up? Does that sound reasonable? then get more feeding suitable stuff if I carry on with it?

FuzzyOwl · 29/09/2016 12:53

Sorry to hear you had to come home early Canters and I hope resting at home helps. I wore dresses and big granny knickers after my section. You could always get a scarf or poncho to wear over the top whilst feeding.

ChatEnOeuf · 30/09/2016 13:11

Sounds perfect Sock. Up to 10% is fine, and once your milk is there, he should turn the corner pretty quickly. Good work!

Not had a section, Canters but I doubt you'll want anything sitting on or below your waist. Dresses and high waisted/loose trousers are your friend. Remember there will be a little bump for seven days if not weeks, so maternity wear will still come in handy.

MyBlackCat · 01/10/2016 12:31

Hope your ok canters and sock the feeding is picking up.

I'm just plodding along, got my iron tablets and taken 1 with no side effects Grin Just managed another parkrun and felt better than last week, must be that one iron tablet kicking in Wink going to reward myself with a bacon sandwich.

I have 26 working days left, can not come quick enough. I'm getting excited about having a baby to look after now, I'm quite possibly deluded Grin

NameChange30 · 05/10/2016 07:48

How is everyone?

Chat and London, good luck for your scans today!

I'm counting down the days until mine... 9 to go!

SockQueen · 05/10/2016 17:26

Things seem to be going a bit better, I managed my first solo trip out with him today to go to a breastfeeding cafe, which was fab! Then took him into DH's work to meet his colleagues. I think his feeding is improving, and he had gained weight at his check yesterday, though still a fair bit down on birth weight, so fingers crossed...

Might try to sneak a nap while he's sleeping now...

Good luck with the scans, viroids!

MyBlackCat · 05/10/2016 17:49

Hope scans have gone ok today and sock that's great to hear.

I've had an interesting day. Had appointment for flu vaccine this afternoon, however haven't been feeling great, ears block, dizzy just generally a bit odd. Got a callback from GP at lunch time and went to see nurse as planned but not for vaccine. She checked everything, my ears are very blocked so need to drop in some olive oil and go back for syringe next week. Then got passed onto doctor. Potentially have a kidney/urine infection just need some test results to confirm either way and may need antibiotics. A fun day Shock

LondonGirl83 · 05/10/2016 18:16

Hi name my scan went great. Baby is totally healthy (and lazy). Had to jump up and down and walk around for ages to get her to move position.

She is measuring totally normal (actually a bit chubby based on the belly measurement) and has slightly long legs which makes sense as I'm 5 ft 9 inches and all legs and DH is 6ft 3 inches.

I'm relieved as I've not gained much weight (2-3 pounds since I stopped losing, but as I lost 13 pounds from morning sickness, I'm still 10 lbs down). Anyhow, it doesn't seem to be impacting her so I think its true what they say. Your body does what it needs to and you should worry too much.

Also, my low placenta has moved completely out of the way so that worry is gone now too!

NameChange30 · 06/10/2016 07:52

Sock Glad you and your squishy one are doing well Smile

MyBlackCat Sorry you're poorly Sad Hope it clears up soon.

London Yay, glad your scan went well!

Chat Hope your scan went well too x

ChatEnOeuf · 06/10/2016 08:58

Good to hear your scan went well, London. Good scan news here too, 12+6 yesterday and very wriggly. Took a while to get measurements as it was moving so much. EDD 13th April, and the consultant and I had a lovely chat about fetal physiology, placentas, dopplers and the like. Quite an intensive monitoring programme starting at 20 weeks.

Hope you feel better soon, Black

Keep on feeding, Socklet :)

NameChange30 · 06/10/2016 09:15
