Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Congratulations lil! I'm so pleased for you.

BlackCat better get started on pelvic floor or it might be a long six months ahead!

Kate you will be fine. Have you completed your antenatal classes yet?

maemay · 08/06/2016 08:11

Just popping back to the Fred to say congrats, Lil! Your birth story sounds very straightforward (almost "relaxed", if labour/birth can ever be called that!)
Hope you're adjusting well to life with a mini person. It's the best thing ever! (But not goi g to lie, it's incredibly hard at times! But so so worth it!)
You have come so far on your journey and I'm delighted that you finally have your precious little baby in your arms!
All the love! xxxxxxx

ZylaB · 08/06/2016 08:14

Congratulations lil

YouBastardSockBalls · 08/06/2016 08:42

Congratulations lil!!

I remember when he was just a few cells

So pleased for you Star

CountryGal4 · 08/06/2016 09:05

Ah lil he's here. It's been such a long journey for you so I'm v pleased/happy for you

Drink it in today you are a mummy!

lildottie · 08/06/2016 10:05

Thanks viroids, he is so scrummy. We were discharged 12hrs after delivery once his final blood sugar result came back ok.

Black invest in an epi no! It trains pelvic floor early on then does the perinaeum stretching later on. I'm so glad I did the epi no. I think I'd have a very different vagina now if I hadn't!

Kate focus on healthy not small. Lilbean was estimated at 6lb 1oz just 4days before he was born so he's pretty different to the estimated weight at 6lb 15.

Peenut · 08/06/2016 13:12

Oh congrats Lil! Hooray that LilBean is here safe and well and boy flavoured! LOVELY!!

Sounds like it all came naturally to you and that's good to know, if it doubt SQUAT! Well done you, mummy lady after what sounds like it has been a long road for you!

OMG Kate. I literally can't believe you are next, just yesterday I got a BFP a few weeks after your banana story! :)

I'm not surprised you had a mini meltdown with everything that's been going on and the midwife saying she's expecting you to give birth early! If it helps a midwife (maybe at the same doctors) said that to my friend and she eventually went into labour on her due date, so it's not a done deal he will come and say hello sooner than you thought. If he does I'm sure everything will fall into place and you won't be able to imagine it any other way!

Also, baby brain/baby emotional rollercoaster has a lot to answer for –I find that panic rises from nowhere and sends me into hysteria pretty fast at the mo. Damn hormones.

I don't think we do have the same NCT lady –we've got RB! Tonight is breast feeding night with another tutor – two and a half hours of boob info in a hot room. I'll need an energy drink. DH has nicknamed today Tit Wednesday. Nice.

Sorry Black that made me chuckle too! The pelvic floor goes all floppy pretty fast! (As has everything else!) I peed myself in Asda when I sneezed pretty early on in the pregnancy.

Congrats on boybee flavoured bean Canters!

And a ha! It was Fruit who discovered the mystical Womble Conker! I love that it came to hospital with you.

I'm feeling excited that there are 4 weeks to go ... also crapping myself the baby will come early/I won't finish work until the day before I give birth/I am mentally totally unprepared for this!

Peenut · 08/06/2016 13:17

Oh and is anyone else on here self employed now? I have had a nasty surprise with applying for Maternity Allowance ... apparently there has been a huge mess up with Class 2 Nat Insurance contributions and how the self employed pay them to HMRC, so technically I don't qualify for any mat benefit until I pay contributions for this year, which I haven't filled in a tax return form for yet (and won't do until April 2017 at the earliest)! To do this involves more paper work and waiting around so my payments will likely start later than anticipated. I just hope I do get them as I've been relying on getting something!

Thought I'd mention in case any others want to get up to speed and contact HMRC in advance to sort out paying the Class Two.

5hell · 08/06/2016 15:37

Sorry, I've fallen off the Fred for approx 2 months, but HAD to get my arse in gear to say a MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to lil on the babe Star Grin
so glad to hear your labour was pretty smooth too jealous!
Hope you're enjoying lots & lots of lovely cuddles

I'm not even going to pretend I know what else is going on (sorry), but hope everyone is well, worry-free and happy x

Canters15 · 08/06/2016 20:53

Lil!!! Congrats!!!! Amazing birth story, can I order your birth please?!! Well done you.

honeysucklejasmine · 08/06/2016 21:48

Peenut can you get on the phone to them? I submitted my first return for April 14-15, and have been receiving mat pay since Feb 16. Not done my 15-16 yet, but it's on my to do list. Is 15-16 your first year self employed?

Peenut · 09/06/2016 09:16

Hi 5hell! Hope you are OK!

Hello Honey too! How are you getting on?

I'd called up to say I'd not heard back after sending off my MAT B form. It was the women on the phone who said I should get a letter this week with an official verdict on how much I am eligible for –then she asked how I paid my class two NI because 99% of self employed people now don't have it collected via direct debit, but pay it at self assessment time. Meaning I haven't yet paid anything for the test period! Grrr. If it had said that anywhere on the form I would have rung up and made sure I was paying the old way to avoid the issue. So, basically got to wait for a letter form mat allowance people and for NI people to send me a bill to pay separately. Highly annoying but will chase with more phone calls.

I spoke to my accountant and he kindly said to call him when I've got all the info and he'll help me to sort.

Going shopping for baby bag items later ... bring on the nighties!

SockQueen · 09/06/2016 12:12

Crazy hormonal pregnant lady fail today. Sitting in on pain clinic with a consultant, patient got really angry with us both and stormed out, and I cried! Felt totally lame. The consultant had to send me off for tea to get myself together. Blush

Ain626 · 09/06/2016 23:51

Congratulations Lil !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did fabulously!

All my love. X

Peenut · 10/06/2016 11:45

Oh no Sock ... nobody should be nasty to a pregnant lady! Do so at your own peril! That's nice the consultant sent you off to get a cup of tea. Tut to the patient who had a strop. Take comfort in the fact that we no longer have any control over our emotions, and better out than in!

I had to have a word with myself last night. When people say, as they are now constantly saying, 'oh, you must be so excited, not long now!' –I must stop saying NO! I'm not ready! I've got so much work to do! I can't imagine this bump being a baby! Panic, panic.

It's like some sort of weird defense mechanism, like if I say it to people they can't then judge me when I am completely unprepared when the baby arrives.

PMA, I need to accept that although I do not feel ready, I probably never will so best to chill about it! Baby will turn up whenever he/she fancies so no point stressing. Taking your own advice is tricky though!

lildottie · 11/06/2016 08:24

Morning all. Sorry I didn't come back sooner to say thanks for all the congrats. This baby lark is hard work!

Canter's I honestly think you just have to believe you can do it. Even when he turned back to back I just believed my body would do what it needed to to get him out. I made sure I felt in control and that's where I stayed. So yeah, IMO you can order it 😉 as long as the baby plays ball and doesn't go breech or some shit like that!

I'm currently running a mental list of all the stuff they don't tell you at NCT! Pee I'm.a super organised control freak and even I wasnt ready. You don't have to be ready for there to be a baby, I actively avoided thinking about that part as I never believed it could happen and didn't want to get my hopes up when so much could still go wrong. Just focus in the labour and birth but and the rest falls into place .

FuzzyOwl · 11/06/2016 13:21

So much to catch up on!

Lil, I hope you are both doing really well now. Smile

Oh Sock, glad that the consultant was understanding.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

MyBlackCat · 11/06/2016 14:21

Congrats lil

KateBeckett · 11/06/2016 18:16

lil glad you had a good experience Smile and yes you are right, I need to think about the fact he is healthy above everything else!

pee phew! Glad I'm not the only one having hormonal meltdowns!! We will both be totally fine I'm sure.

How are things going with sorting out your maternity allowance? I can't believe no one mentioned it before now. Fingers crossed it is sorted quickly for you.
We had our last nct this week, and one of the couples missed it... Because they had their baby that morning! He is super cute!

Only one more week left at work, I can't wait. My maternity cover started last Monday too so next week should be fairly easy as I'm handing over for her to do most of the teaching so my class get used to her. And we are doing the planning and marking together which makes the load a bit lighter.

And today has been lovely- had a surprise visit from my uni friends who had got in touch with dp to arrange a mini baby shower/gathering type thing. Just them and their families and some food and things, it was lovely and so sweet of them! They have totally tired me out though hah.

sock what a mean patient. I'm not surprised you got upset, but glad the consultant was looking out for you x

SockQueen · 11/06/2016 23:47

How lovely, Kate! I've got a couple of things planned with various sets of friends before Socklet arrives - no "baby showers" but there's a LOT of afternoon teas involved. Nice of them to arrange a surprise!

Pee your mat pay situation sounds very complicated and frustrating. Wine (imaginary!) Very glad I just have to wrangle with medical staffing - which is challenging enough for me! And I totally get where you're at with not being prepared - I'm not that bothered about labour and birth as I know it's got to happen one way or another, but am increasingly concerned about WTF to do with an actual tiny human in my house.

PiL came round today to help us out with the garden (they have lots of suitable weaponry, we have a pair of secateurs and a trowel!) and have hacked back lots of our hedges that were going wild. I wrestled with some kind of climbing plant for a while before bowing out.

Peenut · 13/06/2016 11:13

You've made me feel better Lil, I guess you can't really prepare yourself for the unknown so better to prepare yourself for the birth! I have started telling the baby that it's fine if they decide to come early, that sort of makes me feel that it will be!

Not long until maternity leave now Kate! Hope you get lots of feet putting up time!

I like that you made a token gesture of pruning a creeping plant before tea and biscuits Sock!

DH has gone from MAN CRISIS levels earlier in the pregnancy that had me questioning why I married him to deciding he's folded some baby clothes away in a draw and is now impatiently ready for the baby to arrive sooner rather than later ... does this man not do happy medium? Still, far better than a woe is me man crisis!

I shared my plans for using an Epi-No with him, a few hours later he said we needed to discuss my 'vaginal widening' plans as he was worried about long lasting results, like I'd submitted a planning application for a new tunnel or something! I had to explain that vaginas are designed to stretch and don't permanently stay like that ... at least I don't think that they flap around in the breeze for the rest of your life post baby?! Wink

lildottie · 14/06/2016 14:21

pee I did epi-no and got to 9cm. I asked dh to check my stitches the other morning and his comment was that it didn't look any different to how it did before the birth down there - now that the swelling has gone at least!

Canters15 · 14/06/2016 21:55

Well today was interesting. Had a midwife appointment during which I started full on ugly crying about everything. Upshot is I'm being referred to another midwife for some counselling and also to the birth choices clinic to discuss C section. I'm relieved its all come out in the open, I think I may have a touch of antenatal depression, I'm definitely not my usual self at the moment.

On a more positive note, dh and I found a lovely house to move to next month. I'm hoping I can get some stuff sorted and the new house can be the start of enjoying my pregnancy.

peenut vaginal widening plans gave me a good giggle!

SockQueen · 15/06/2016 13:33

I did at least make tea for everyone, Pee! Glad your DH is getting a bit more excited, and I hope the enthusiasm continues...

Canters sorry you're feeling so down, but good that the mw was supportive. I hope the birth choices people are helpful too.

So the Mothercare event on Monday was useful, though I did nearly murder DMiL by the end of it. She is lovely and so keen to be helpful, but doesn't seem to realise that a) things have changed in the 30+ years since she was a parent to a newborn and b) although yes, it is possible to waste lots of money on unnecessary stuff, that doesn't mean you have to go to the opposite extreme, barely buy anything and get everything second hand. I'm not splashing the cash on everything, but sometimes it's nice to have some nice things! I thought we'd nearly decided on a travel system we saw there, but the reviews online are very mixed, so now I'm confused again.

Canters15 · 15/06/2016 13:58

Thanks sock. I feel slightly ridiculous- as though being a doctor should provide me with immunity from this kind of thing- but I guess that's not how it works. I wish I could want a natural birth but I just cry whenever I think about it.

What travel system were you thinking of? Personally I think going a bit crazy and buying everything you want is part of the fun, but dh would say I apply that rule to all shopping Blush so maybe don't listen to me.
