Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Congrats to all new bfps sorry I am sporadic with posting and get far behind!

Hope we are all having a lovely weekend. I am very excited as after much research over the last few months I am venturing back into our much loved hot tub tonight... With the temperature turned well down to below body temperature. I do know the advice is not to use them but that is based on poorly temperature regulated tubs in spas, ours has been turned down for two weeks and we have been checking the temperature multiple times a day to check it is accurate. Will be ten very enjoyable minutes I hope!

BunchOfBobs · 26/03/2016 18:07

Nev I've just got back from a spa break where I used the various steam rooms and sauna. I made sure not to get hot in myself and didn't even stay in each room for 5 mins at a time and cooled fully down in between. I wouldn't be concerned about the hot tub. Enjoy yourself and listen to your body. If you feel yourself getting too hot then get out Smile

Nevlet · 26/03/2016 18:14

Thanks for the support bunch am glad others approach with the same reasonable caution- we know our bodies and know if we are too hot! Your spa break sounded amazing by the way especially your Hopi treatment- am thinking of booking a mum to be package at our local spa hotel soon as a present to myself haha!

BunchOfBobs · 26/03/2016 18:51

Do it Nev! It was truly amazing, I came out more tired than when I went in due to relaxation and weighing 1kg more Blush Clearly it was good for the baby growth. I had a facial, mum to be massage and the Hopi candles. Pure bliss.

Planeteer · 26/03/2016 19:27

I've just spent ages getting lost in sling tying vids! They look like they might be a faff to start with but a total godsend once you get the hang of them. Will definitely be adding one to my wish list (currently liking the look of the Papoozle... Bunch, any experience with this brand?)

Have also convinced DH to go to a baby and toddler show in a few weeks to see if we can get some good deals on buggies and the like. Have a feeling we might be joining the cossato crew, their designs are so pretty!

Jamjar12 · 26/03/2016 19:34

My friend has a cossato and it's brilliant. Even I'm able to fold it down into the boot lol. She's also addicted to slings and takes her everywhere possible in it. I'm definitely thinking of getting a sling!

Runner05 · 26/03/2016 19:38

Planet do! They are gorgeous! And really good value for money. I love mine and can't wait to use it.

If you get the Giggle make sure it's the Giggle 2 as the original had some folding issues. The Woop is cheaper but it doesn't have the carry cot attachment which is better for getting out and about with the baby in the early days and is lovely and snugly. I may have to go on walks just to get the enjoyment of it Grin

Plan I've never come across it but it looks great re: ergonomics. Tots bots are a really reputable brand for nappies so can't imagine it'd be rubbish. I can't get my head round the design though as its not just a wrap it also has structure involved.
I've got a moby and boba stretchy wrap- both great for newborns. Then I have a Calin bleu gauze wrap- apparently great for summer as a really lightweight fabric and finally I have a little frog woven wrap which will do until walking and beyond and apparently a great brand for newbies to woven wraps. I'm a completely newbie to this but I've been researching wraps since TTC. I can massively imagine it will be a huge money burner when you look at all the gorgeous designs out there. Just like cloth nappies!!

Planeteer · 26/03/2016 20:00

Bunch I am someone who already owns an alarming number of drapy floaty pashmina style scarves. I imagine wraps and slings will be my post pregnancy equivalent #hellobankruptcy.

The giggle 2 is what I've currently got my eye on Runner. Looks like it ticks all the boxes and the designs are so lovely! Fingers crossed we can bag ourselves a bit of a bargain at the show (in Sandown in mid April - anyone SE based and thinking of going?)

BelliniButterfly · 26/03/2016 20:12

Had my early scan today at 7+6 and it was amazing, so reassuring after all the worrying I've done. I measured at 7+1 but the sonographer told me not to worry about that as the measurements at this stage are so inaccurate. The main thing is we have a baby in the right place with a strong heartbeat. Would recommend to anyone worrying as much as I have!

Jamjar12 · 26/03/2016 20:28

Aww Bellini, how lovely! Great news :)

Has anyone bought a heartrate monitor to use at home? My friends have had them- can't remember how early they used them. Anyone know what's the earliest you could hear the heart beat at home??

StarkyTheDirewolf · 26/03/2016 22:08

Oh Lord, this is so uncomfortable! Pharmacist couldnt wouldn't give me anything to help. I have to go to the GP...so that'll be Tuesday before I can even ring, I haven't even notified them of my pregnant status yet, I was waiting till I got to 6 weeks or so.

Pharmacist suggested a salt rinse, so I might try that, and will definitely try and get some corsodyl mouthwash tomorrow, thanks for that suggestion!

Did my first CB Digi today and got a 3+ Smile

Need to properly catch up on the thread now!

ImpYCelyn · 26/03/2016 23:13

Runner it's looking like 6th December.

Starky that's so frustrating. Corsodyl is great though.

Bunch you can definitely get to walking. When I had two under 18 months I only had a single pram and always carried one. Sometimes the baby, sometimes the toddler.

Aw thanks guys. We are really excited. Starky you've inspired me to buy a cb digi asap.

I am also thinking of booking an early scan Bellini, 12 weeks seems like forever away!

Runner you looked gorgeous in your bump pic and not fat at all! Flowers

Runner05 · 27/03/2016 08:18

Lol Elle, I know it's all baby related weight but I still struggle to get up if I sit on the floor and have to roll out of bed... So a fat seal is exactly how I feel Grin

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 27/03/2016 08:25

Runner I'm totally feeling you with the rolling out of bed malarkey, and getting up off the floor is getting to be a mission. Then again I have moments where I completely forget and try and bend over to pick something up and am surprised by my sudden stop as I have a bump in the way.

Mileymoocow · 27/03/2016 09:02

bellini I'm glad you can relax a little now! Smile

I'm also happy to hear others have used a hot tub. I've booked a log cabin spa break with a hot tub for OHs 30th in may and was wondering wether I could dip in if only for a few minutes!

Good news this morning - didn't vomit the minute I woke up and am having a bowl of muesli and almost enjoying it.

ImpYCelyn · 27/03/2016 09:17

Happy Easter all! I hope you're now chocolate rich (if you can eat it lol)

Miley that's good news! FX it lasts Smile

Mileymoocow · 27/03/2016 09:20

Never mind...spoke too soon! Muesli round 2!

Nevlet · 27/03/2016 09:30

Miley we turned ours down to 34 but after a fee mins in that outside I was cold so turning up to 36 so still a degree below body temperature. Have had no prblems with it so far and was lovely on my back to just float around and feel weightless. I say go for it!

shelbTa · 27/03/2016 09:35

Morning ladies, happy Easter!

Hearing you runner - I'm so bloated this morning I'm like a floatation device!

Any 17+weekers notice they have become more irritable recently?! I'm having mood swings!

X

LaraG13 · 27/03/2016 10:37

Happy Easter!!

Wishing you all a morning sickness, thrush, indigestion and uti free (or relatively symptomless) day!

Just think, next Easter we'll have our beautiful babies to celebrate with.

Mileymoocow · 27/03/2016 11:36

Happy easter. Hope everyone is enjoying their treats!!

Miley I'd swap my chocolate for your hummus and carrot sticks. DH has banned me from eating hummus because apparently it makes me smell Easter Angry
