Insufficiently, I managed to drive away from my in-laws' house last week without my handbag. Remembered after 5 miles; DH was not impressed. Then the following day we went to the gym together, and I was in the changing room before I realised I hadn't brought my trainers. DH thinks it is nature's way of preparing him for having to look after an incapable little person!!!

Vickie and Cheery, really sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages. I had kind of been thinking of 10 weeks as a milestone because I think the risk drops to 2%, but of course if you are in the 2% that means nothing. I am now even more desperate for that 12 week scan!

Wanting, I think you are very sensible to get your MIL to have your son for a couple of nights. You are under a lot of stress, and it will be much more fun for him to be with granny than to be dragged around looking at accommodation! So actually I think you are being a very lovely mum.

All those with ovarian cysts, I thought they were fairly common during pregnancy? So try not to worry. I need to ask at my scan for my kidneys to be checked, as there is a strong family history of adult polycystic kidney disease, and I have a 50% chance of having inherited. I did get scanned three years ago and there was nothing, so I am hoping the same will apply this time.

My colleagues sat me down last night and told me I ought to think about trying to get pregnant before our school goes academy and the maternity pay changes. Little do they know!!! How I kept a straight face I'm not sure...

Well done for keeping a straight face bluebell ! That's funny think my face would have gave the game away X bet can't wait to break the news when the time comes ! X

Bluebell20 · 05/12/2015 09:55

Well to be honest Gx, I was wondering if they had already guessed and were trying to get a reaction out of me! Think I played it cool enough though. I have fantastic colleagues - they are great fun - and they are also terrible wind-up merchants, so they are very bloody good at keeping straight faces themselves! I am really looking forward to telling them and seeing if they are surprised or not! I think I'm going to wait till the start of the new term in January though, because I am 12 weeks the day after we break up for Christmas.

Cheery1 · 05/12/2015 10:08

Morning ladies,

Cookies - I'm on lemon, ginger and honey and actually that's working. Feeling quite a bit better after a big sleep but going to take it easy to today. Will definitely buy some paracetamol

Mel - I 'm taking my Godmother to see Dawn French tonight so I'm really excited. GM has had a really tough year so she deserves a treat! Not sure how I'll be being out past 10pm but hey ho!

Happy Saturday all Xmas Smile x

MissClarke86 · 05/12/2015 10:12

Hi ladies,

I had a bit of pink spotting and a tiny red clot (literally about 2mm long) last night and am quite worried. I think I'm about 6+4 and I haven't even had my GP appointment yet (it's Tuesday). I'm not sure what to do...it's not heavy and has stopped again now. It seems to be just the tiny clot that has created the pink tinge (sorry TMI!).

My instinct is to just wait for GP appointment and see what they say. I've got no cramping and haven't had any symptoms really apart from a very slight dull ache like a much milder form of period pain. But barely anything.

Any advice? I'm in Nottingham and I think my EPU is referral only.

wantingno2 · 05/12/2015 10:23

Thanks everyone for your kind words I think it will do him good anyway to get used to being away from me as I'm going to start him in nursery 2 days a week after the new year I want him to get used to being at nursery befor the new baby is born so he doesn't think we're packing him off because there is a new baby I'm just thinking to much into everything at the moment and I think he's picking up on the stress to mil is picking him up tomorrow and he's staying at hers for 2 nights she lives nearly 80 miles away but he loves her to bits he always gets really excited when she comes to stay with us xx

Vickie360 · 05/12/2015 10:24

Hi Missclarke if your concerned try a and e they should be able to refer you it's proberly nothing but worrying about it till Tuesday will be awful x

PoppieD · 05/12/2015 10:27

Hi all just wanted to say hello- 1st baby for me so this is all new (and scary at times!) so looking forward to sharing ups and downs with everyone as an sure I'm driving family, friends and colleagues mad!!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/12/2015 10:41

Wanting you will find a great house I'm sure. We panicked when we had to leave a house at Christmas time but found an even better and cheaper house so it can be done.

I'm struggling with my two year old as well. He's really grumpy at the moment.

Missclark if you are concerned call out of hours for advice. Fx everything is ok for you. Quite a few ladies on here have had bleeding and it's turned out to be nothing of concern.

I got my scan date through. It's the 30th December. I'm a bit disappointed as I wanted to tell the family at Christmas. I was going to book a private scan but it's £60 and I might as well just wait considering it's only a week later. I'm not sure how to announce it yet. I should get away with not drinking as we are on our own Christmas Day. Boxing Day MIL and DHs grandparents are over but I'll just pretend to drink. I'm not sure how to announce it now as we were doing Christmas cards.

Morning all,

Not been feeling great past few days, feel like I have flu, trying to eat and drink regularly. Hope it passes

I'm 7+ 3

Wish my energy would come back

mascaraisamust · 05/12/2015 13:49

Hi all, had my flu jab. Not been sick at all since that one episode, no real symptoms at all now! The waiting game continues 12 days until my early scan. It's like the tww all over again! Only 7 weeks today, mc at 7+5 last time so a rather anxious week ahead I reckon.

mascaraisamust · 05/12/2015 13:51

Beautician maybe a nice New Years surprise announcement?

mascaraisamust · 05/12/2015 16:54

Jo speaking of energy, ive been in bed 3-5! Just had to lay down, feel so lethargic.

Jo6526 · 05/12/2015 18:33

Mascaraisamust can't work out if it's pregnancy or thee weather just want to stay tucked up in doors x

pulpi · 05/12/2015 19:09

I bring you ladies words of wisdom from my Spanish MIL:

Morning sickness is 90% mental.
Morning sickness only happens in the first month. After 6 weeks it's done.
Pregnant women cannot help lift anything. Ever.
Serrano ham is fine to eat when pregnant.

I'm doing a lot of smiling and nodding today.

Also, the nausea has hit (or I'm just imagining it). Am 6+4 today.

Hey ladies hope ur having a nice wkend I have been suffering from a horrible taste in my mouth for 2 days now and seems to be getting worse ! Goes away while I eat but then comes back shortly after Sad ends up making me feel really sick so have bought lots of sucky sweets that seem to help keep it away - so afraid this is my life until 14 weeks or so .... Anyone else having this ? Need help it's making me cry !! And I think will ruin my Christmas ! X

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/12/2015 21:35

I'm in pain this evening. Anyone else had really bad cramp. I can hardly move and my tummy is rock hard and popped out all of a sudden. I've tried going to the loo but don't feel the need to go. Could it be wind?? I really don't know what to do.

Gx91 · 05/12/2015 22:19

Beautician - could b bad wind or constipation , think u can get really bagged up and it hurts like hell ! X try eating a few oranges and always fart when u need to , it gets worse if u hold back ! Lol xxx

Loki17 · 05/12/2015 22:24

I had that on Thursday, Beautician. It was trapped wind. 24 hours later it dissipated. Scary though. My mum asked me today if I'd had any luck with getting pregnant. I shook my head but feel so guilty fibbing to her. She is going to be mad at me! Not a lot, but will tell me off for fibbing!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/12/2015 22:26

Gx91 thanks for the reply. This is my fourth baby and you would think I would know by now. I have had severe cramping all night since about 7pm. I mean I have been doubled up and hardly able to move. My tummy went rock hard & huge. I have never experienced this in pregnancy before. I've come to bed under DHs orders as he could see the pain I was in. Turns out it was severe gas and I feel fine now that I've released it lol. I wasn't holding it in.

Just thought I would post this as reference for others because I've just had a few hours of panic.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/12/2015 22:28

Thank you Loki I knew it was you that posted earlier in the week but this mobile app is rubbish. Every time I come on it misses out loads of posts. Right now it's showing me today's posts and then it skips right back to 25/11

Kajamite · 05/12/2015 23:19

Sorry I've been so useless at replying!

I'm due on 21st July, got my booking appointment next week :)

I'm taking it really easy due to a recent mc but it just means that I get to lie down while DH does more housework Wink

Cheery1 · 06/12/2015 08:22

Morning ladies Smile

G - I've had a horrible metallic taste a few times on and off so I can imagine what that's like all the time you poor thing. I found pukka mint and liquorice tea helped - liquorice being strong enough a taste to do something. Also helps with nausea. Hope you feel better soon! Xx

Kajamite - I'm in the same boat. Trying to take it easy because of recent mc. Hoping and praying all is well this time, thinking positive and counting says to private scan booked on 19th. Don't have a booing in apt or NHS scan date and my due date is 11th July!

That would be 'counting days' - stupid predictive text!
