Hello and sorry to pop up again after my long absence from here. I was finding the sickness difficult to deal with and sort of been keeping my head down for the last few weeks as I found my addiction to this site was making time drag slower.

Lex, I am so very sorry to hear your sad news. My heart goes out to you. Sending lots of love and hugs your way xxxxxxx

jbiscuits · 01/12/2015 06:36

Congrats Jelly! Good luck tomorrow Gnomette.

I'm Friday and can't stand the waiting, just want this week to disappear! Oddly I feel ok today after one of my worst sickness days yesterday.

BiffleRoo · 01/12/2015 14:35

I'm so sorry to hear this lex hope you have the support you need and stay strong.

I'm Friday too rose and am getting so impatient. I have days when I feel that second trimester buzz and days like today where I can't eat, can't move and can't stop crying.

Violet88 · 01/12/2015 14:45

Great news jelly and clarish!

Rose are you me?! I also had a horrendous day yesterday and feel loads better today. I even kept my breakfast down, which hasn't happened in a while!

I was wondering whether people are thinking of doing NCT antenatal classes? Or if you experienced lot have done them before. The only one near us is running as a weekend course, and is 3 weeks before my due date. Not sure if this seems like quite close to when I'm due?! Loads of people have said that it's worth doing NCT just for the social side of things, it just seems like a lot of money (£221). The only other antenatal classes are offered through local childrens centres. My job involves working with children and families and I work quite closely with all the local childrens centres, so I feel a bit strange about going to antenatal classes there with families I'll potentially already have worked with or could be working with in the future in a professional capacity (as in, it won't really be a situation either I or they will likely to feel like we can be very relaxed/open in!!). The advantage of the NCT class is that it's over a wider geographical area and the catchment area includes lots of places which aren't on my "patch". But a lot of money. Worth it?

iamdivergent · 01/12/2015 17:58

Lovely picture clarish I would love to be more forward but knowing my luck I will go back!

emma85x · 01/12/2015 17:58

Congratulations clarish. Being moved forward a whole week is amazing!!

amysmummy12345 · 01/12/2015 18:07

Congrats Clarish xxxx

mrsmugoo · 01/12/2015 18:09

I didn't do NCT first time round. As luck would have it there were a group of about 10 of my close friends that were pregnant at the same time so I had a ready made support group of new mum friends.

As it happens I didn't really spend as much time with after we had our babies as I thought I would - I found the relentless poo/ milk/boob/sleep chat endlessly dull and preferred to get away from it and chat about "real life" with my non parent friends.

iamdivergent · 01/12/2015 18:39

I didn't do nct (too £££) but went to pretty much every baby group going in my town, we did swimming, massage, baby play and messy play - I had a fab support network of about 10 ladies, I'm still really good friends with about 4 of them now.

I'll be doing the same this time around as I found having babies very isolating and lonely at times.

PrincessPunzie · 01/12/2015 18:41

I'm not going to do NCT - I was appalled at the cost and friends who did them recently confirmed that they're more about making mummy friends than anything else. I don't want new mummy friends! In fact I'm terrified of other mothers! And I figure my child will make its own friends of a similar age when it goes to nursery.
