thanks me I'm living in the US at the mo so 4D will already be part of this one (already had a glimpse in 4D at 12 weeks!). If I get a scan I don't need it will cost crazy $$$ as medical system is bonkers!

At least we know the sex though so he won't be missing that. Maybe a friend can film it

Aw good luck with yours next week!! It's so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time isn't it!??

IndomitabIe · 05/10/2015 18:51

Rosie and Poppins I've been getting palpitations/ectopics too. I get them occasionally anyway, but I'm getting them quite often as I lay down in bed (post asthma inhalers, sometimes these make it worse).

I haven't been overly worried (though it's a bit concerning at the time), it's something that's always happened and something that I've read/heard is fairly normal. I might mention it to the mw at my 16wk appt this Friday.

I usually hold my nose and blow it (the pressure seems to help settle it sometimes). Not sure if that's recommended or not!

15+5 here and no movement obvs. I've no idea about placenta location (I'm sure they told me last time)

I think I need to join new car club. As well as the exhaust developing a gaping hole, my passenger side wiper has sheared off the mechanism. Should be able to cable tie it, but it didn't work earlier. I think it might be A Sign that the old dude should be retired.

Rosieblossom123 · 05/10/2015 19:32

Me same here my scan isn't until 3:40 and I'll be at work until 2 so I think that day I'm going to be a nervous wreck and not productive at work!!

Poppins and Indomit I think I might have to mention it again to my midwife or gp, I really hope it's nothing serious, I get it from time to time not always.

So today I cried because I couldn't park my car?? Really?? What's happening to me! Damn you hormones!

BeautifulLiar · 05/10/2015 19:37

Indom - it should say where your placenta is on your scan report!

Rosie - I cried too cos I blocked the kitchen sink with hot oil :( I undid the pipes and drenched myself, the insides of the cupboards and the kitchen floor! Worse thing to happen to someone who doesn't own a mop...

JoannaZZ · 05/10/2015 20:53

Rosie, Poppins and Indom I had a week of very bad ectopics (as in once a minute or so, sometimes once every 10 seconds) earlier in the pregnancy, I realised I had been eating a lot of bananas and red meat since I was off a lot of other foods, so I tried to eat more normally and the ectopics went back to a normal regularity. Not sure if it was cause and effect though, could be anything! And because I was fine again when I had my next midwife appointment I didn't mention it to her.

shieldbug · 05/10/2015 20:54

Oh beautiful what a nightmare! Hope all is ok now. I managed to tip cold water out of a pan today that completely missed the sink, soaked ds2 and went into the cupboards. As it was dirty water used to soak off spag bog, cue frantic cleaning up and rewashing of all the tupperware I had managed to contaminate.
Has anybody else found they have suddenly got really clumsy or is it just me?

I've been having definite movements for a while now, but I do have very wriggly babies and this one seems to be no exception (in fact it's jiggling away as I type!).

I'm another one starting to get lovely indigestion (also earlier than I remember before). My stupid remedy is to eat more, thereby delaying the symptoms for a while but ensuring they are worse later on. Rennies usually help, when I can be bothered to locate them.

IndomitabIe · 05/10/2015 21:02

I think I'm being daft, but I think I'm having Braxton Hicks'.

I had them from 20 weeks last time. And I keep getting an odd sensation in my lower abdomen this evening. I can't feel my uterus much to see if it's hardening, it's more a feeling of weird tension at the moment.

It doesn't feel like anything worrisome. Just... weird. And obviously intermittent. It's not possible at 15 weeks, is it?

Thanks Beautiful - I didn't see it on the scan report, but I'll look again.

It's reassuring that others have had the ectopics.

Regarding clumsiness, I'm usually pretty clumsy. I'm much worse when I'm tired. And when pregnant (and tired) I'm downright dangerous.

And I'm starting the yr11 chemistry modules next week. Glassware ahoy!

MyNameIsSuz · 05/10/2015 21:16

I'm clumsier when pregnant too, and I think my carpal tunnel is picking up again too. I had it towards the end of my pregnancy with ds, completely numb hands for the last few weeks, and they said it would happen again. It's much earlier though! I'm not ready, I have plans to crochet the bab a blanket!!

Missikat · 05/10/2015 21:38

Rosie, I cried yesterday because DS bit me on the back of my leg. It did hurt but not enough to make me cry!

Also been having weird and very vivid dreams. Last night it was about going to a random club night that was part performance art show, part fetish club with people involved in beastiality....not a fun way to spend the night!

IndomitabIe · 05/10/2015 21:39

Just watching this fishing thing on channel 4. The poor bloke's seasick. Welcome to pregnancy sickness matey! (Too harsh?)

Me624 · 05/10/2015 22:37

I've been super clumsy the last few weeks too, I said to dh I think it's because my centre of gravity is changing and I'm not used to it so it's throwing me off kilter!

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 10:35

It's really bad I've been so emotional lately. I'm taking my cat to the vets on thursday to get her spayed and I think it's going to be really hard for me, she's my little baby :(

I'm super clumsy at the moment, the other day I was holding a tray and talking to dp and suddenly walked into the fridge and the tray bruised my chest luckily it wasn't my belly!!

Beautiful oh no I hope that's sorted, sounds like a nightmare :( oh I think I know where my placenta is, just above the pubic bone is hard so i'm assuming it's that? haha I might ask in my next scan!

BeautifulLiar · 06/10/2015 10:42

Shieldbug your spag bol water incident sounds horrendous! I've managed to fix my sink, but it did involve me and the kitchen getting soaked again :( I will never throw hot oil down the sink again!

Rosie I'd say that's your uterus. Also really emotional here... i started to well up this morning cos a fire engine had its sirens on and I had to pull over for it Confused

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 10:55

Beautiful haha I littraly don't know! I'm need to ask the midwife to demonstrate next time, completely clueless!! Blush

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 10:55

literally*

BeautifulLiar · 06/10/2015 11:04

I think it will be - don't think you can really feel the placenta?! Don't worry about being clueless!

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 11:21

Thanks Beautiful :) Less than 2 weeks until my 20 week scan, counting down the days!!

julesldn · 06/10/2015 13:06

Just caught up on 4 pages! Some of your stories have really made me giggle and 'im just breeding' definitely needs to be the name of the next thread haha Smile

20 week scan today - im so excited! Didnt realise it was longer either. Does this mean I have to wait even more time before I can go for a wee though?! Argh nightmare!

ThePug · 06/10/2015 13:22

Good luck jules - So exciting we have our first 20 week scan! What time is it at? My letter says it will take about 30 minutes, but I think it all depends upon how cooperative baby is at being in the right position and how much jiggling around / partial bladder emptying you need to do so they can get the right view.

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 13:44

jules good luck, keep us updated! My letter says 30-45 mins and it's at 3:40 so its definitely going to be a late one but at least we get to see baby for longer I guess :)

BeautifulLiar · 06/10/2015 13:50

Good luck jules! Wow I'm sure mine weren't that long but maybe. You shouldn't need a full bladder either!

Definitely "We're just breeding" for thread 6 Wink

Trinpy · 06/10/2015 13:51

Hope all goes well in your 20 week scan jules. Very exciting that we're all (nearly!) at the halfway point now. Then we can happily count down the weeks until mat leave Grin.

I had my 16 week mw appointment yesterday. Baby's heartbeat is still 152 bpm, so we'll have to see in 4 weeks whether the heartbeat theory is right! My mw was quite surprised I'm finding out the sex as apparently I seem like the sort of person who wouldn't want to. No idea why she thought this - maybe I come across as being a lot more patient than I really am Confused.

Me624 · 06/10/2015 14:42

Ah jules that's so exciting yours is today - come back and give us a super detailed update please! A week and a half to go for me, it feels like ages.

So despite having bought a load of maternity dresses for work, I'm still resisting wearing them. Mainly because they make me look HUGE, like at least 7 months pregnant! I think it's the way they're cut. I am still getting away with looser cut non-maternity dresses so going to stick with them for now because I don't really like to flaunt my pregnancy at work!

Rosieblossom123 · 06/10/2015 14:53

Me we haven't got long left don't worry :) what time is yours again?
Reg maternity clothes I'm going through the stage, bought loads of maternity trousers from ASOS and they're massive, I think you're right it's the way they're cut 100%

ThePug · 06/10/2015 14:59

2.5 weeks until my scan and still not felt a thing - aghhh the waiting!

I haven't bought any maternity tops yet but have 2 pairs of jeans and 2 skirts. I've also got 2 coats/jackets but they are huuuuuumungous! Fortunately I work at home most of the time so wear whatever I want. Yesterday I had to meet a client about a potential contract (who I didn't particularly want to know I was pregnant) so I went through 5 dresses which I discounted as I looked either massively fat or obviously pregnant and settled on one of the maternity skirts with a shirt and blazer - think I got away with it!
