I had mine last week at work too Suz. I didn't feel anything afterwards but I did have a very sore arm for a couple of days.

I wonder how Rosie got on today!

BeautifulLiar · 17/10/2015 17:50

Also wondering about Rosie.. i bet she's shopping!! Did you go and get some boyish clothes Me?

Paperblank · 17/10/2015 18:03

Had my Flu jab at the beginning of the month - I did wonder if that was what triggered this chest infection but I decided it was unlikely.

Marmite don't wobble hun - you're growing a human!! Having said that I did feel very fat and frumpy last Saturday until I got some lovely comments on the bump.

Rosie will be shopping till they throw her our of mothercare. I can't believe that she's not come and told us what flavour baby she's having.

I mean it's not like we're a random bunch of strangers! oh...hang on Grin

Yes Beautiful I spent a small fortune on 3 babygrows, a matching hat for one of them, some little shoes and some muslins!

Missdee2014 · 17/10/2015 18:14

Paper I feel your pain with the decorating - our whole house is still upside down from moving last weekend and our bedroom is in the middle of being decorated too! Bedroom should be finished tomorrow though so might attempt to restore some normality tomorrow night before I go back to work on Monday.

Jealous of you all with your scans already! Ours isn't until a week on Tuesday (27th). Any scan buddies? Flu jag on Monday and the consultant for my BP later in the week so hopefully time will fly until my scan now Smile

Paperblank · 17/10/2015 19:11

MissDee I take my hat off to you. Moving is stressful enough as it is without being pregnant.

As long as you know where your clean knickers and your toothbrush are then that's all you need Grin

I'm crocheting like a mad woman at the moment. Have made bump two cardies and a hat to match his blanket. Just need to put the buttons on the second cardie then need to find a new project, eyeing up a pram suit patten I saw the other day but also need to attempt the new dress dd wants which is a bit more complicated. Dd's dollies are all getting clothes to match bump's, she's delighted with them and is desprate to show anyone who walks through the door. Just as well as dd has come down with a stinking cold and just wants to lie next to me all day.

suz I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago, usually get some sort of raction, but suprisingly this time seemed to chase the lingering cough and stuffy nose I had away. Hope you feel better soon.

missdee topsy and tim makes me sob like a loon at the moment and I do find myself randomly welling up at the strangest of things. The sound of the town's matching band a couple of days ago!

My nan seems to have really perked up since her big scare on wednesday night. Brighter than she's been in a couple of months. My mum told her we're having a boy and she wants to see her great grandson before she's willing to give up. Hoping to have a time frame for her prognosis in the next few days so can get dd up to see her atleast once more.

My dad arrived safely in Uganda and is already having an amazing time. Having to avoid looking at facebook and his pictures make me long for a hot trip away too, especailly as we're just starting to use the winter wollies again. But he has promised to try and hunt me down some form of wrap to use with bump, it would be lovely for next summer.

TheMshipIsBack · 17/10/2015 21:02

Had a bad scare last night. Woke up around 1am with bad lower back pain coming in waves. I thought for sure I was beginning to miscarry and tried to just relax, checked but no bleeding. Toughed it out till about 2:30 when DS woke needing a wee, and had to wake DH to deal with it, after which I told him what was going on. DH calmed me down, made me some tea and got some paracetemol. Spent some time walking back and forth, which helped and eventually dozed a bit on the couch. By morning it was mostly gone, and I've felt plenty of movement through the day, so I don't know what the hell it was. Mild recurrence this evening, just a bit achy. DM (former nurse) thought it might have been a muscle spasm brought on by ligament loosening or the baby shifting position to put pressure on my back. If the pain comes back that badly again I'll phone the hospital and see if I can get seen tomorrow. Has anyone else had anything remotely like that?

Congratulations on all the happy scans!

RhubarbAndMustard · 18/10/2015 06:23

Mship you poor thing! I've not experienced that but must have been scary for you at the time. I would call your midwife/hospital unit at the very least just in case they have any advice for you. I'm sure everything is fine, but it will put your mind at rest. When I had spotting my midwife said I should have called in 'because that is what they are there for'.

Me624 · 18/10/2015 08:17

Mship hope you are ok this morning. Agree with Rhubarb definitely phone the midwife if it happens again and you're concerned - that is what they're there for.

Rosieblossom123 · 18/10/2015 08:56

Sorry for not updating you girls we went over to our inlaws and phone was dead! I wish I was shopping haha this baby has a serious attitude it's unreal so we couldn't find out AGAIN!!! Angry
Baby this time was upside down and wouldn't stop moving, I had to run up and down the stains, jump up and down, sit on a birthing ball, go on all fours and wiggle my bum we done everything and baby had its legs shut and kept doing roli polies haha rebooked again for Wednesday as a free session the woman could not stop laughing! She said stubborn babies are normally girls so we'll see! Baby please behave on Wednesday pleaseeeee!!!

IndomitabIe · 18/10/2015 09:08

Oh no Rosie!

Just to throw a spanner in that theory, DS is the most stubborn child I've ever known apart from myself and he's a DS. (Though his stubbornness wasn't apparent until after birth).

TheMshipIsBack · 18/10/2015 09:24

Thanks everyone. I'm ok this morning, just stiff and a little achy so I'm really leaning to the idea that it was my back muscles affected in some way. Baby's been moving plenty and the only abdominal discomfort is the all too common constipation. Going to have another long walk today as that's always helped my back in the past and I've got ~20 weeks where it's only going to be more at risk with the increasing size up front. So back to daily marching!

IndomitabIe · 18/10/2015 09:33

TheMship do you have other children? Just to let you know that DS wriggled around all the way through labour. So wriggles show the baby is probably OK, it might have no bearing on what your cervix/uterus is doing.

Hope it is just back spasms though (well, I hope it's nothing, but you know what I mean!) Rest up.

Me624 · 18/10/2015 09:39

Oh Rosie can't believe your little monkey wouldn't let you see AGAIN! Fingers crossed for Wednesday, at least it means you get to see him/her again!

BeautifulLiar · 18/10/2015 09:41

Mship hope you're ok!

Rosie that is unbelievable! Remember how stubborn mine was and she's a girl so maybe! My last DD wouldn't let us find out at the scan either.

I'm having a horrible morning, pretty upset and can't stop crying so now I feel really guilty for the baby.

DH seems to have a real issue with mornings, and I can honestly say right now I hate him for it. He's usually working away and so of course I'm always the one getting up with the kids but that can't really be helped. But he's had the weekend off and promised "I would get my lie in". Well yesterday he had a lie in at his parent's house and didn't even get to mine until 10:40, then this morning despite me asking/joking/pleading he didn't get up until half 9, and not without a fight so now I feel like shit. I know this must all sound so immature but I'm pretty emotional right now and I don't know how much longer I can keep doing everything by myself and keeping a smile on my face..

Rosieblossom123 · 18/10/2015 09:43

I know right so shocked but at the same time I'm looking at the bright side that I get to see my baby again just really hope we find out on Wednesday because I don't think dp will want to spend more money and having no guarantee Sad even though his parents paid this time but baby is just too wriggly I really do hope we find out on Wednesday, it's a 5:45 too so the end of the day haha

IndomitabIe · 18/10/2015 09:51

Beaut I'd feel the same. Now he's up, can you take yourself back to bed, or in the bath for a couple of hours but. Some time for yourself. Thanks

I say this having accidentally found myself back in bed after heading up with the intention of going in the shower!

BeautifulLiar · 18/10/2015 09:59

I'm still in bed, but as far from relaxed as you can get! He looked at me crying as he got dressed, and just walked downstairs. Sorry to put a downer on our gorgeous thread! There's so much to do in the house, there's mould in the bathroom, school tops to wash, bits of frigging fish fingers on the floor, my bedroom is a tip, the next to me crib is still up...! But he's just watching tv/playing on his phone. I could bloody strangle him. He's so amazing in so many ways, then just fucks it up cos he cba to get out of bed!

MyNameIsSuz · 18/10/2015 10:29

I feel your pain Beautiful, my dh is the same. We do live together but I get up every day as I start work earlier and Sunday is supposed to be my lie in, if it happens he either sticks the tv on and comes back to bed or is extra grumpy with ds, both of which mean ds comes to talk to me in bed. It's not restful! I'm so tired, I think I might have to go for a nap later.

sherazade · 18/10/2015 10:31

hey everyone again.. beautiful sorry to hear you're having a rough morning.. hope you get some rest and help soon.
me624 you asked if my gut feeling told me it was a boy-- no!! My gut feeling for every pregnancy has always been wrong. Was sure another girl this time and thought my previous dds were boys! Baby would not move at all and I had to be tilted so I was practically on my head throughout the scan.. hope he stays lazy like that for me!
Weirdly enough I was desperate to buy baby clothes before the scan but now that I know I'm having a boy I'm holding off because once I start I wont stop!
Just survived ofsted at our school last week too.. my head told me to cancel my scan when she knew oftsed were coming and I refused but everything ofsted wise went well thankfully.

IndomitabIe · 18/10/2015 10:37

Sympathy Beaut. My DH is amazing compared to a lot of them, but he has form for that kind of thing too.

Sher well done with OFSTED (I had it at this point when pg with DS too). And good on you for sticking to your guns re: scan. You can't really rearrange these things and surely OFSTED would be less impressed with schools ignoring the legal entitlement for time off for antenatal care. Hmm

We're expecting them at any time too. Hopefully after Easter! Wink

Just been looking for unisex multicoloured sleepsuits after checking DSs old ones and finding they're mothercare from 2010. There's literally no nice rainbow/multicoloured ones out there. All boring grey and white. Boring.

Me624 · 18/10/2015 11:47

sher that's funny your gut feelings are always wrong! Mine was right this time, but all the old wives tales (the ring thing, the Chinese gender prediction calendar thing etc) said girl so they were all wrong. The heartbeat thing was right though for anyone who is interested - my midwife didn't say anything about the speed at my appointment but I noticed yesterday that she'd written it in my notes and it was 130, which fits with the theory!

Beautiful sorry your dh is being such a pain! I'd be tempted to go out for the day and leave him in charge of the DC!

Paperblank · 18/10/2015 13:54

Thought you'd all love these....
