Thanks haquoi.

Also have been thinking of pagerty. So sorry to hear the sad news and I hope you recover well.

clarabellski · 28/07/2015 14:47

Spanoo I find sucking on mints helps as well with heartburn and trapped wind (if your heartburn is accompanied by that delight)

Thinking of you pagerty Flowers

Still only managing to eat sour stuff mainly sweets and cloudy lemonade and curry.

DNephew and I are watching Home whilst he tells me about his physio session this morning. I can't wait for my DDs to get home on Friday, I am bored.

All prep work for swapping bedrooms over done, DH moving furniture this afternoon.

Hospital letter says a max of 2 people but I have 2 DDs and no sitter for my scan next week... May have to call and clarify if that applies adults and/or children.

Nectarines · 28/07/2015 16:01

So sorry to hear what happened to you Pagerty. X

fififolle · 28/07/2015 16:16

So sorry Pagerty. You have a brilliantly positive outlook. Flowers

Littleoakhorn · 28/07/2015 16:26

Thanks Pagerty. Maybe some Wine Wine Wine too.

Littleoakhorn · 28/07/2015 16:29

On heartburn, my local chemists says that gaviscon is fine. You can get it as sachets that fit nicely into your handbag.

Rufus200 · 28/07/2015 16:44

Spanoo Tums are safe, this link explains what to look for on the label. I find Tums taste better then some others but I don't like all the flavours/colours so is a bit of a waste.

Stocking my hospital doesn't let children in at all so definitely worth checking x

Tiredoftiredness · 28/07/2015 17:29

I wore a maternity bra for the first time today, my breasts feel like they're floating on a cloud of marshmallows, it's brill!

haquoi123 · 28/07/2015 17:49

tired how is it on your stomach? I can barely stand the crop top bra I'm wearing...

jellypi3 · 28/07/2015 17:50

I wore mat tights yesterday. Made the bloat so much more manageable.

What have people found is the best for constipation and bloating?

fififolle · 28/07/2015 17:55

jelly I've found that I'm better if I drink loads of water in the daytime and reduce the amount that I eat in the evening.

Pogmella · 28/07/2015 18:02

Thinking of you Pagerty take care of yourself x

StockingFullOfCoal · 28/07/2015 18:03

Last time I was there they let children in, although I'm going back 5 years now, but it did state on the letter they still have the outdoor play area for children, but that doesn't mean they're still cool with letting them into the actual scan. I'll definitely ring and check however I'm screwed if they don't Sad

NoMontagues · 28/07/2015 18:19

Had my hospital appointment this morning, all is still well thank god.

Had a mini scan and got the go ahead from the consultant to go to the community midwives clinic from now on which is great.

tired where did you get your maternity bra from? I have a couple of mothercare ones that I never got round to wearing last pregnancy. I must dig them out.

haquoi123 · 28/07/2015 18:36

Fab news montagues!
I asked my midwife about something to help with the bloating. She basically said it's all extra fluid and I could try to take something or eat differently but the likelihood is it wouldn't work. After I realised she wasn't just fobbing me off, the anger subsided and it actually was surprisingly comforting. This is just bloating though, not constipation, trapped wind, indigestion or heartburn (what a list!)

Mirabal · 28/07/2015 18:58

for constipation I have found that shredded wheat, more effort at fruit eating, more water and ultimately lactolose from the chemist have worked for me......my meds for puking are making it so much worse but I think I finally have it under control! oh the glamour

Mirabal · 28/07/2015 18:59

I've not had my 12 week scan yet so probably very silly to ask but has anyone found any good skinny maternity jeans? I need some black ones that I intend to live in for work.....

Carltonlives · 28/07/2015 19:24

Evening everyone

stocking my letter says that children can't be brought to the scans, hopefully it's different where you are and you can take them in though.

mirabal I haven't bought anything this time around yet but I found h&m good and reasonable for maternity stuff last time. I lived in their leggings which I found to be much better than others I tried. If you want to spend a bit more, red herring at debenhams do a decent maternity range if you go to a big store with loads of jeans.

My scan is tomorrow morning! So nervous. Does anyone know if I need to bring a wee sample with me? Can't remember from last time. I know they will take blood for the testing too.

Hope everyone is well and good luck to anyone else with scans tomorrow

teaandcake2016 · 28/07/2015 19:51

I didn't need a wee sample. I did go with a full bladder though which they then asked me to 'half empty' - not easy ! Enjoy your scan :)

Boobear1983 · 28/07/2015 19:55

mirabel try next online....they have a sale on. I just ordered 3 pairs, between £10-£15 each. Or new look.

Pogmella · 28/07/2015 19:58

Hi Mirabel- I tried a few and liked ASOS Radley ones. New look ones were more like jeghings, not denim and red herring were not great quality... Heard good things about H&M and Topshop. I love mine- I could sleep in them!

madsaz76 · 28/07/2015 20:00

I have just cooked an outrageously fibre filled curry complete with chickpeas, lentils & veg in the hope of helping with the stubborn bowels. Now reading this (after eating) and slightly worried I am swapping bowels for wind.

Hey ho - it may be suitable revenge on DH ....

Stepawayfromthezebras · 28/07/2015 20:22

mirabel I'm not buying anything till after my scan but gave a (hidden) pinterest board with what I'm planning to buy in terms of maternity clothes and the black jeans on my board are from Zara. Though they are the more grey-denimy type than actual black as my cats and their hair mean my black clothes don't stay black for long...
