Lovely scan pics everyone ???? Mine is in 11 days, seems like forever, I have found the heart beat with my doppler but I am still so worried after having mmc discovered at 12 weeks.

So tired I've fallen asleep on the ferry twice in two days (once I had to be woken by a ferry officer!). I feel terrible for my poor husband, who has been a saint but is having to basically get our move taken care of on his own while I am at work. When I leave home at six and get home at six, it's impossible for me to do much more when I get back other than sit down, put my feet up, and snore! I'm embarrassed...the cooking has gone by the wayside, the cleaning's no better. But fortunately, I have an incredible husband who is sweetly excited about every week of this and wants to know how I am and take care of me every day. Happier and happier to be entering the parenting journey with him.

madsaz76 · 31/07/2015 18:48

Scan done all brilliant. Risk of downs 1 in 1826 and others least than 1 in 20000. Plus bean ridiculous chilled and just lay on his/her back waving and putting hands on nose. :)

Lovely scan pic madsaz.

womb your post is so cute, it made me cry Smile

Rufus200 · 31/07/2015 21:39

Having quite bad cramps this evening. Feels like very intense stretching pains, hopefully will settle down!
Think I overdid it, dishwasher died and I tired to fix it myself pulled it out several times, tipped it up in all directions (wouldn't drain) and undid all the plumbing. Kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off in it. DH came home asked what was for dinner, turned around and has gone to get a takeaway.

StockingFullOfCoal · 31/07/2015 21:46

These dopplers... Do they actually alleviate anxiety or do you find yourself checking loads of times a day? Also whats a decent doppler cost?

With me dropping my meds, anxiety has reared its head quite badly in terms of intrusive, repetitive worst case scenario thoughts.

clumsypots · 31/07/2015 22:00

Had yet another visit with a different consultant today, he is quite worried about the amount of blood thinners j am taking but won't reduce them yet until I have had my scan to check the clot from feb has gone. Feeling a bit nervous about it all now especially as he was concerned I haven't had any scans to check baby yet (it's on Wednesday though) each consultant I see seems to have a different opinion and I can't get a straight answer. H is now very worried about me as it's the 1st appointment he has been to with me and so didn't quite grasp how serious things could be. Feeling a little bit like my head is going to explode especially after the week I have had with the many other things that have happened. Can I just hibernate for the next 6 months?

Lovely scan pics everybody!

madsaz76 · 31/07/2015 22:02

The problem with a doppler is that you have to be in the exact right place to hear a heart beat. So an absence of a heart beat doesn't mean something has happened to baby - but would certainly trigger absolute panic. I can get easy access to a doppler through work, so I have steadfastly made sure I never find out where it is kept just in case I get tempted....

rufus rest up please!

stocking my anxiety has crept back too. My 12 week scan worry has turned into 20 week scan worry (well it's not till end of week 21!) I'm trying to step away from Google and relax but it's proving hard.

clumsy that sounds very annoying to get different opinions from experts. Fingers crossed for you for Wednesday

StockingFullOfCoal · 31/07/2015 23:08

mad That's what I'm thinking, I've seen midwives struggle to find one with a doppler. And they have an idea of where the baby is! Which is what has put me off so far. SIL is a NICU nurse and she's told me not to bother, she thinks it would likely trigger massive panic attacks.

teaandcake2016 · 01/08/2015 00:08

Just to add to the Doppler discussion - I got one from Amazon (£20 roughly I think)- heart the heartbeat once , can't find it again since and gets frustrating trying! I would recommend using the money for something else, eg special baby toy or a treat for yourself. I can see the appeal but was an anticlimax for me!

teaandcake2016 · 01/08/2015 00:09

Heard not heart!

Tiredoftiredness · 01/08/2015 08:24

I borrowed SIL Doppler last time and couldn't find a HB once, happy to admit it may be me being a bit daft with "technology" but I found it frustrating and worry inducing more than anything else!

Boobear1983 · 01/08/2015 08:55

I bought one for £15 from eBay. It says don't use until after 14 weeks so I of course started trying to find a heart beat from 11. After about half an hour of trying I managed to find it but it is so stressful. I suffer from anxiety and found myself using it every day until my 12 week scan. One day I couldn't find a heart beat....cue panic attack and tears until dh came home from work and helped me find it. I find it easy to find a heart beat now, I'm 14 weeks today but I know where baby is lying. I think they're a catch 22, if you're lucky enough to find a heart beat it's great and reassuring but if like most you struggle to find one it can be hugely stressful.

monkerina · 01/08/2015 10:02

I bought a doppler for £15 from Ebay too- one with a separate wand, as they're supposed to be easier to use in early pregnancy than combined units. It says not to use til week 13, but I found a hb that wasn't mine the first time I tried (after 15 mins searching and a couple of youtube vids) at 8+6 and every time since. I use it every couple of days for reassurance, and tell myself that NOT finding a hb won't mean anything... if I don't though, I know it'll worry me!

Lovely pic Saz Smile

StockingFullOfCoal · 01/08/2015 10:05

I feel absolutely grim today. Was awake and staring at the ceiling until 4am. DDs awake at 6am. Major IBS flare up. DH gone to pick up DSS, 3 hour round bus trip. DSSs little brother is very ill in hospital and the Docs don't know whats wrong, cue one very stressed and upset DSS. My heart breaks for him, he's already lost one brother Sad

Downstairs looks like a bombs gone off, I was so focused on swapping the bedrooms over and spring cleaning upstairs that I did nuffink downstairs.

I'm in bed with a hot sweet cuppa watching Mission Impossible with DDs at the side of me reading.

Rufus200 · 01/08/2015 11:37

Also had a bad night, was awake from 5am. Not been to the toilet since Thursday, there are 3 doses of lactulose in my intestines doing absolutely nothing! Just went food shopping with DH, stood up from being in the car and had the most horrible stabbing pain in my left pelvic area, so bad I burst into tears in the car park. Didn't feel central or uterine so I'm really hoping that it is intestines. Then no more pain just the uncomfortableness of constipation.

RattyCatty · 01/08/2015 11:51

stocking that sounds hard - mission impossible in bed sounds wonderful though!

rufus can you call your doc/midwife or pop to chemist for some more advice on how to clear it?
