Thought I'd start a new thread as the other one's about to run out.

kittyschristmascrackers · 29/11/2006 13:56

Muppet that's lovely about the robins, I reckon it's def a sign

Good foxy, haven't had a contentious thread in a while and I'm feeling extra tired and irritable today

harktheheraldfoxessing · 29/11/2006 14:11

I reckon its a sign from her Mum to say "hello, I'm OK"

Kitty - I thought it was just me. I lurked on the MMR one the other day but couldn't be "bovvered" to participate. JimJams is a real star

Have just been scrabblig around in cupboards trying to find my fave materniy top - last worn 3 years ago. It is soft black jersey, with long pretty bell sleeves and a scoop neck, with a very fetching velvet tie under the bust. I can't find it and am annoyed with myself as I just know that as soon as I have given birth and no longer need it, it will miraculously "appear".

Found plenty of dodgy looking trousers though

kittyschristmascrackers · 29/11/2006 14:33

My midwife asked me today igf i was eating enough
"yes" I replied "My normal preg knickers are already too tight"
"good" she said" you were a skinny old bint"!
. Oi, less of the "old" mrs midwife and I was never skinny, just petit

callieco · 29/11/2006 14:36

Hello again

Am feeling very depressed today. After lovely holiday, am now back in dark, messy house under grey skies feeling tired and like crying. I know it's pathetic, apologies in advance for moaning. I've got to go away again tomorrow for something DP's doing and I really don't want to, just want to stay at home and start clearing out small room for nursery, which DP doesn't seem to think is a priority at all, despite the fact this is my only time off work between now and maternity leave. Don't think he quite appreciates I'm going to get bigger, less mobile and more tired... That's a bit unfair actually because as I sit here typing
he's making me lunch. I'm probably just hungry!

Muppet, the robins are a lovely symbol!

Have a hot sandwich and a pickled onion (mmmmmmm) at my side and feel a lot better now.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 29/11/2006 14:53

Kitty - your midwife sounds lovely I'd do anything to be called skinny right now. Well, anything except eat less and excercise more that is.

Callie - You have that nesting feeling don't you? I have it really strongly too and resent having to go to work when I want to stay home and nest. Its horrible coming back from holiday, specially in the winter and the UK is so cold and grey. Just think though, it'll be Christmas soon Why don't you tell your DP that you really don't feel up to going?

kittyschristmascrackers · 29/11/2006 16:18

Coming back from holiday is rubbish, it always depressed the hell out of me. Actually that was a pointless thing to say because I haven't been on holiday in years and nor am I likely to in the distant future .
Anyway, I remember that it was horrible coming back to grey skies.

AmieR · 29/11/2006 16:26

ooh holiday... I had one earlier this year, september infact... I was about 15 weeks pregnant at the time and though we had a lovely time, I was knackered!

very beautiful country though, Slovenia... check it out... here

obviously my DH at the mini golf isn't the highlights on Slovenia!

Booboobedoo · 29/11/2006 16:28

Hello girls.

We got the £31,000 back! Thank gawd for that! Can feel my blood-pressure normalising as I type.

Muppet - that robin story is lovely. You should use it at the funeral. They're such funny little birds: really cheeky.

Piffle: so glad you're on the mend.

Rainbow: good on your Mum for taking DD for a bit. Sounds like you needed that kind of practical support.

Kitty: your midwife sounds hilarious. Whatever happened to 'tell pregnant women they're beautiful'? My friend was called fat the other day by a male friend. She gave birth 6 weeks ago fgs. Now she's worried about dieting. (The bloke who said it must weigh about 20 stone btw).

Foxy: hope you find your top.

Callie: buy some satsumas and light a fire (gas or real: doesn't matter). Then read some Dickens. Helps you to appreciate the dark evenings.

Lunar: sounds like a nightmare at work. My DH is in a similar situation, but he doesn't have pregnancy to deal with on top of it all. I hope you manage to resolve the situation asap.

Dolly: we can have a 'who's gained the most weight' competition when you come over (for cake). How's DD? Do you think it's chickenpox?

What a relief for you Boo!

MossletoeAndWine · 29/11/2006 16:38

Have only been on a foreign holiday twice in my life I'm afraid, but both times I was looking forward to coming back home to grey skies:

First time I went with my parents and sister when I was a teen - they took us to Israel to see all the biblical sites. (I'm sure there's enough info on "my parents aren't in my life any more etc" threads to work out why I wanted to come back from that one!)

The second time was with dh, well, dp then. Went to Tunisia. Nearly split up. So glad to get back!

But I know what you mean, it's horrible if you've had some time off to get dumped back into the maelstrom of it all!

Oh Muppet how lovely about the robins! Are you going to put some bird food out for them?

MossletoeAndWine · 29/11/2006 16:39

that's the problem with mning in work - you go away for a minute to do something, post a message, and find out you've missed several posts in the interim

harktheheraldfoxessing · 29/11/2006 18:59

Foreign holidays - I luv 'em - just that feeling of taking off and leaving, its really good for the soul. We book them 18 months in advance to get all the free child places think we may do Cornwall next year instead though, so I can throw the steriliser in the car

We're trying to sort our mortgage out atm as our fixed rate ends in Feb. There are literally thousands of deals, its so confusing!

Boo glad you got your £31K back !!!! what a relief.

Kitty - can I e-mail you what my fave doula said? I'm not asking you to do anything, I just want to share it with someone and none of my friends know what a Doula is LOL She costs more than the others but sounds amazing.

Laidback - DS has got a whole new load of Dr Who doubles now!!! I was telling DH earlier about his swaps with your DS and he said, "yes, but is it a real ten year old?" We were joking that your DS is probably sixty with a bald head and a Dr Who fetish!! LOL

Actually I am..(joke)

kittyschristmascrackers · 29/11/2006 19:02

Corwalls' lovely, always rainingthough

Of course you can email, you've still got the address haven't you ?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 29/11/2006 19:07

I think its on my mobile...

callieco · 29/11/2006 19:44

Boo, you must be so relieved. I've had a few satsumas btw, a walk into town and after looking at the Christmas lights am now feeling back in the swing of winter. I actually like this bit of the year running up to Christmas, I think it was the house and that feeling of 'oh my god there's so much sorting out to do' that overwhelmed me earlier.

Although having said that, have not even thought about Christmas pressies etc, too busy wondering what to get for nursery and most importantly, which pram to buy.... Oh well.

Foxy, have to go with DP, it's something related to his mum's death last year and we're staying with his dad who I haven't seen since the summer. It's ok, I'm calmer about everything now.

zombiebridepenny · 29/11/2006 20:23

Hi everyone!
Great to be back, See you all have christmas names and I am still stuck in my halloween disguse.
How's everybody been doing?
I have been working hard trying to get our kids book out to retailers for Christmas, what a nightmare... Still on the good side it does'nt seem to hard troubled bump who is now kicking me to bits as I type. Its a Weird feeling being woken up by a bump fighting for his share of the bed! and Satsumas you say? Yes loads of them.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 29/11/2006 21:12

Penny - welcome back - seems like ages!! What is the book and what age is it for? It sounds very ineresting and its a good time to get it marketed B4 Christmas.

Callie - I'm starting to feel very seasonal too and can't wait to get the decorations up this weekend. I like turning all the main lights off and just having the sparkly Christmas ones on, it makes the house look a lot better and with a glass of wine, its almost as good as going out

Kity - have e-mailed you the disco doula info

divastrop · 29/11/2006 21:26

hello all.

hi penny, nice to see you back.

now i know why i used to read this thread at least 3 times a day...its impossible to keep up otherwise

i havent had a chance to come on here during the day as ds2 has been off nursery as he puked up a few times last night and this morning.he is not a typical male when it comes to illness,he just carries on being his normal nutty self ,occasionally stopping to throw up

kitty-all my children have blue eyes!help!this one will have brown eyes im sure.

muppet-that was lovely about the robins.i believe loved ones send signs etc to comfort us when they have passed on.

fox-i know what you mean about coping with things at the time then finding they hit you later on when things are calm.i keep having dreams about when dd2 was in hospital, and seeing all the christmas stuff everywhere is taking me back to last year and its like'oh my god, last christmas my 2 week old baby was seriously ill and i was 250 miles away from home in a strange city '.i keep looking at her being cheeky and pulling all the videos off the shelves etc and thinking how lucky i am to have her.
well, people will be singing her name soon

25 weeks(girl)

eidsvold · 29/11/2006 21:30

all well here - had a good weekend away as you can see

here

and
here

fab weather - girls spent ages in the pool did not want to get out.

just busy trying to get christmas shopping finished before dd1 breaks up for summer holidays. Lots of little things to get for teacher's, therapists etc and then the family.

Belly seems to look bigger and bigger every day - seem to be popping out ....

off to a concert tonight with dh but am so tired hope I stay awake... see a guy called Paul Kelly - great aussie singer/songwriter - concert has had brilliant reviews.

kittyschristmascrackers · 29/11/2006 22:31

Eidsvold, they are lovely pics and I am very at the sunshine and lovely looking beach.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 30/11/2006 08:38

Eids - what a great life your kids have in Aus. Were you born and brought up there or did you migrate? I'm sure you must have told us but my brain is like mush.

Eids - what happened to your DD last Christmas which resulted in her being so ill in hospital?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 30/11/2006 08:40

Morning everyone else

26+4 already!! (baby boy)

Is it acceptable to call ourselves "heavily pregnant" now??? I love that term

harktheheraldfoxessing · 30/11/2006 08:42

Aime - Slovenia's next to Italy isn't it? We nearly popped over there a few years back when we were in Venice. What are the weather and food like in Slovi?

AmieR · 30/11/2006 08:45

the weather looks beautiful eids... won't share what it looks like here this morning!

Fox- the weather was beautiful, it was mid 20's and we were there from the 9th of september. Food is good too, very much influenced my the italians, whihc is always a good thing in my book, beer was nice too, so my DH liked to inform me with every one he had!

Off to London today, with my Mother, she's taking me to see Les Miserables... its her favourite thing and she's said she'd always like to take me, so today is the day! Just hope we get a few bits of rest in.. don't want to fall asleep during the performance!

Rosydingdongmerrily · 30/11/2006 09:06

Its nice to see the holiday snaps! Amie it looks amazing and your dh looks like a nice kinda guy. Eidsvold your girls are so cute and just how I imagined them.

Muppet the robin story is lovely. my exhusbands mum died recently. She used to feed the birds every day and the day after she died someone put the bread out as she would have, but the birds didn't eat it!

I had an awful day yesterday. Dd didn't cope well with me being ill. She played up on me the worst ever all day. By bed time she was throwing a massive tantrum. I rang dh and he had to do some long distance parenting by phone to help calm her down. I felt so tired and depressed and can't cope. Am going to have to sort out practical help. At the moment I'm washing dishes as I need them and stepping carefully over everything as I walk! Argh.

ds2 is shaking my leg saying 'get off the putor I want milk'....
