If you're due in November 2015, well here's your ante natal club! Come and talk about vomit inducing man-scents, cheese roasties you simply cannot do without/or stand, the picked ice cream you must have right now, and the bubbling desire to tell the world but checking dates to restrain yourself!

I look like I did at 20 weeks! Its more flab I think but there's a definite bump shape higher up. I'm living in baggy jumpers, so glad I'm still on mat leave as everyone at work would know by now. Think I'm going to take weekly bump pics once I've had my scan, because I'm big anyway I just looked fatter than normal until about 30 weeks and didn't take many photos at all, then a few weeks after DD was born I saw a video on Instagram of a baby kicking in my friends tummy and I was gutted that I didn't capture my own.

mrswishywashy · 31/03/2015 21:50

Wow, this thread has moved fast.

I have booking in appointment on Thursday with midwife, will be 8w5ds and then going camping for the weekend. If it rains or is cold I am going to find a hotel. My very small set of symptoms has gone I do have tiredness but last night was up all night with a three week old who would not sleep (he is my charge). Am hoping for better sleep tonight but he's slept all day so who knows if he will sleep tonight. I'm still pondering a private scan before the nhs one as I just don't feel pregnant.

mrscatmad31 · 31/03/2015 21:52

cryingbaby I had a pain on my side for a couple of weeks and i was worried, but it's completely gone now and now worrying because it's gone... sigh!

halestone · 31/03/2015 22:23

eurghh Nausea go away, i'm too tired to be up because of it.

Dp is worried as my spotting is increasing in volume. I am staying zen about it, i am having a scan on Thursday anyway so what will be will be. No point worrying till i'm on my way to the hospital then i worry till i know whats happening

tootsroots · 31/03/2015 22:32

Ladies with Ms - I have found a few spoons of Cheerios helps me!!!! Well today it did. I wake up with atarving tummy at 2/3am- anyone else?

the gas situation is dire , it is increasing my walking speed by propelling me like a jet engine

SnozzberryPie · 31/03/2015 23:00

Another one who is eating EVERYTHING. I don't have any nausea yet and everything smells so good. I spent the whole day at work eating and going for wees, someone must have noticed!

My dd's birth was a mixed bag; the actual birth itself was OK but I had an awful experience afterwards of being in a lot of pain and stuck on the postnatal ward from hell. I'm hoping for a home birth this time Smile. I would highly recommend natal hypnotherapy to anyone who is worried; I ended up with a forceps delivery in theatre and it really helped me to stay calm.

mrsscarlettbutler · 31/03/2015 23:06

Oh I'm so glad others are stuffing their faces as well. I have come to realise that the only thing that keeps the nausea manageable is eating. Constantly. I am so bloated by the end of the day that I look definitely pregnant, but it is absolutely not baby, it's air. Blush

All I want is potatoes, bread, cheddar cheese, marmite, butter - in lots of different combinations. I can sometimes manage peas, sweetcorn, apples (but ONLY golden delicious) and raw spinach so i'm trying to get those in as much as possible but essentially all I am eating is white carbs and cheese. I am feeling enormous.

I've just been to a work event where there were lots of lovely canapés on offer and I kept taking ones that I thought i fancied and then having to slyly hide them under a napkin when I realised that, nope, that's not going down well. All the while clutching a very full (and warm!) glass of prosecco and pretending to take sips from it. I am exhausted from all the sneaking about!

Have come home aching from head to toe, got straight into bed and DH has made me my current favourite of toasted white pita bread, cut open and each half slathered with butter, marmite and shavings of cheddar.

I hope everyone is ok and those who are waiting for scans/answers get their minds put to rest soon Flowers

ch1134 · 01/04/2015 07:01

Still no symptoms whatsoever but only 6 and a bit weeks so not worried. Sailed through my last pregnancy too, and not prone to panic, so kind of hoping I'll be let of lightly again. Staying with my parents this week though, and think my mum might've guessed as she offered me decaf tea the other night!

ninjabeer · 01/04/2015 07:17

Woke up yesterday with the lurgy. Am gutted as I was just getting over bronchitis and now I have a full on head cold. Feeling a bit sorry for myself and drinking lots of honey, lemon and ginger. Would normally dose up with full strength cold and flu but will have to make do with paracetamol.

Good grief what a moaner sorry ladies! On the plus side 7 weeks today and eccles cake for breakfast Whoop!

ch1134 · 01/04/2015 07:19

Just quickly read through this thread and ann... I get it. After a traumatic birth I found comments like 'our bodies are designed for it' really patronising and unhelpful. My body was designed to he active and doing things other than birth every day for decades. Birth is not an every day event for any woman. My body did not 'just know what to do' with a back to back baby, and no amount of positivity or visualisation was going to help shift him after 24 hours of established labour. I had set in my mind that I shouldn't accept pain relief, and afterwards I felt betrayed by womankind! Someone should've told me that sometimes, no matter how brave, positive, or well prepared you are, birth might just be absolutely awful. Accept help and necessary interventions. All this 'women have been delivering babies for millenia' stuff is rubbish too. Women died in childbirth, and suffered lifelong injuries. We don't have to!
I'm hoping for a straightforward birth this time, and for all of you too. The fact is, some of us will get that and some won't, and preparation might help to some degree, but there will be many variables beyond our control. No-one should make us feel that we could've done better.

ch1134 · 01/04/2015 07:35

And well said takestwo!

Lauramum23 · 01/04/2015 07:45

If a lot of you ladies are on second babies I can honestly say mine was completely different to the first birth. First was 19 hours, second 2.5 and so much easier .third was slightly longer labour bout 4 hours but he came out with about 2 pushes!!! He was a bit shocked tho!!
I think with your first you need to go in with an open mind to pain relief you just don't know how you are gonna feel I had an epidural with the first but I've not had one with the other two as I wanted to get on with it quickly Grin but hey I might need one this time who knows??

HeirToTheIronThrone · 01/04/2015 08:14

MrsScarlett your pitta/marmite/cheese combo sounds awesome [drools] I'm another one eating all the things to stave off sickness, I already pretty much need my maternity jeans!!

cryingbabymess · 01/04/2015 08:17

Ok I thought I already posted this morning! Confused

Thanks ladies for all your help with my "stitch" if it doesn't get better then I'll maybe phone. I'm more panicked about it now as my sore boobs have gone!!!Shock

Usually in the morning when I get up and gravity takes over they're agony but today.....nothing!! ShockHmmConfused

No1 said being pregnant would be this much of an emotional rollercoaster!!! ConfusedConfused

BowiesJumper · 01/04/2015 10:01

crying is the stitch low in your abdomen or higher up on your side, like a stitch when running? I'm sure it's ok but if you're worried, talk to your GP.

Morning all. I hope you're not all suffering too much!

Karmanna13 · 01/04/2015 10:06

Morning all!

So I had my early scan today and it was twins (2 sacks) but one of the twins hasn't developed properly and doctor said it probably won't. The other one looked fine and had a good, strong heart beat and most importantly was growing in the right place! Need to go back for another scan next month to see what is happening with the other one. Feeling a bit overwhelmed.

SnozzberryPie · 01/04/2015 10:22

I've been getting a stitch too!

In my last pregnancy I had so many random aches and pains, I think you just end up ignoring them unless they are severe, especially towards the end.

SnozzberryPie · 01/04/2015 10:24

Karmanna, just saw your post. That's great news that one of the babies is fine but I'm sorry to hear about the other one Flowers

SnozzberryPie · 01/04/2015 10:26

Ps I just called the Drs and my booking appointment is in two weeks when I'll be seven weeks

Mamama31 · 01/04/2015 10:29

Karmanna wow that is overwhelming for you. Do you have twins in your family? I'm sure you have mixed emotions as that is good news but sad news if the other one isn't developing...hoping for a miracle for you though.

I had my scan this morning, it's so early there was not much to see just a sac and it was not an internal scan so the nurse said that is normal at just over 5 weeks. I have another appointment next week to check it is developing. Feel a bit reassured but still a bit in limbo until next week when I find out if it is growing and developing as it should. Just some very very light brown spotting today mixed with cm, so not too concerned and hoping for positive news next week!

cryingbabymess · 01/04/2015 10:40

Bowies yes it's exactly like a stitch you would get from running or in my case doing any exercise Wink lol. It's coming and going today and after speaking to you guys I'm not too worried!

First day back to work today after being off from Thursday last week on annual leave!

halestone · 01/04/2015 10:49

Karmanna, brilliant news about the heartbeat in one of the twins. I am so sorry about the other twinThanks I can't imagine the emotions you are going through now Thanks

Mama at my 5 week scan they could see about the same. At the 7 week scan a lovely strong heartbeat. FX for you.

I know i said i wasn't worried last night, but my spotting is bright red and i have quite a bad backache today. So i am a little worried, i was exactly the same when i was pregnant with Dd so i am holding on to that.

BowiesJumper · 01/04/2015 10:49

Karmanna sorry to hear one of the twins might not make it, but congratulations on the positive scan for the other one! Must be mixed emotions eh?

Mama that sounds positive! I wonder why they didn't do an internal scan? But seems good news at this stage! Spotting like that isn't too much to worry about I don't think. I was just told to come back to EPU if it got heavier (ie like a full flow period).

crying I reckon a stitch up on your side isn't anything too bad, probably just things stretching about!

Mamama31 · 01/04/2015 10:55

Thanks halestone and Bowies. I know, I just worry with the spotting as I always have pre af spotting that leads to bleeding and I get convinced that's what's happening. Did a cb digi today as well just to check it's going up and it has gone up to 3+ so that's good.

Halestone would you not get checked out again just to be on the safe side?

Karmanna13 · 01/04/2015 11:06

Thanks everyone. We are obviously over the moon that there seems to be one healthy baby in there and in the right place. Doctor said in very rare cases the other twin could catch up with growth (scan put me at 6+4 so very early days), but the most likely scenario is that that twin stops growing and the sack will come out as a bleed in the next few weeks. Scan in May will confirm it either way.

Mamama, glad you're feeling a bit reassured, fx for next week!

Halestone, hoping your bleed is nothing to worry about if you had it in your last pregnancy too, but could you perhaps be seen again just for some peace of mind?
