If you're due in November 2015, well here's your ante natal club! Come and talk about vomit inducing man-scents, cheese roasties you simply cannot do without/or stand, the picked ice cream you must have right now, and the bubbling desire to tell the world but checking dates to restrain yourself!

I also recommend plain hula hoops for nausea!

Mine is a bit less today, though still wanting all the rubbish carbs - I had super noodles and hula hoops for lunch!

Whoever said about waking in the night feeling hungry - my midwife told me at my booking in appointment to eat someone literally just before going to bed, to try and keep your blood sugar up overnight - it might help?

flyingsprocket · 06/04/2015 20:31

TMI Alert- my indigestion/bloating/wind situation has reached a critical point. I may have to be quarantined. Thankfully DP is away tonight otherwise it could prove to be toxic for him Shock Grin

Blueblink · 06/04/2015 20:34

Hello ladies, I hope you've all had good Easters! I'll have a read through what I've missed over the weekend.
I've been feeling pretty rubbish today. I have quite the history of bladder infections due to a pre existing condition and was quite smug in thinking id got to 8wks 3days without suffering from some sort of UTI but I'm pretty sure it's caught me now! :-( I was worried and called 111 and have an emergency appointment with an out of hours Dr at 9.15pm so that's good. When I had my booking in appt the midwife said how common they were, but does anyone have any experience of having UTIs whilst pregnant or taking antibiotics at all? I'm so worried!

ch1134 I'm a teacher too but I work in scotland - I think it's very, very different. I work 4 days and rarely bring work home. Will sometimes/often browse for lesson ideas etc but I refuse to bring marking home (because I never end up doing it Shock)

I had someone TOUCH MY BELLY last night! Granted she's a bit out there anyway. I made her touch DH's tummy and backed awaaay.

ch1134 · 06/04/2015 20:48

I didn't used to bring work home but now I am head of dept and have to pick up my ds from childcare at the end of the day I have to work in the evenings. .. here goes!

roughtyping · 06/04/2015 20:51

Ah that must be a huge difference I bet. Poor you! It's only the last couple of years I've managed to not bring stuff home - I'd really had enough. I have no ambition to move on to SMT - quite happy to stay a teacher Smile

roughtyping · 06/04/2015 20:51

Also just to add - I DO get the marking done Blush just at work!

sophiaslullaby · 06/04/2015 20:56

blueblink I've suffered with UTI's for the past 2 years so was no surprise when i got one when i was 5weeks. They put me on amoxicillan for 5 days which did the job. Doctor said its the drug most commonly used for pregnant women.
You will get it sorted and cleared safely do not worry, i give my sympathies though as its very upsetting and frustrating to have it.

BlueBananas · 06/04/2015 21:44

Blueblink I always get lots of UTI's throughout my pregnancies, I had a really bad one in my first pregnancy at around 30 weeks that was causing contractions and I was hospitalised so definitely better to get it treated early! Thankfully I haven't had one that bad since and I'm 9 weeks into this pregnancy with no UTI's yet, they're easily sorted with anti-biotics though so don't worry

Nothing new to report over here, very mild nausea, sleeping loads, eating loads and impatiently waiting for my booking appt on Wednesday
These first 12 weeks seriously draaaaagggg

Unthoughtknown · 06/04/2015 21:45

The bloating/constipation is getting me as well, two days on the fibogel has done nothing. I actually daydream about having a big poo.

Blueblink · 06/04/2015 21:47

In and out of the out of hours like a shot! They've given me some amoxicillin like you said sophiaslullaby really have my fingers crossed that it works, I've been immune(?) to it in the past! They are terrible at the best of times let alone in early pregnancy! Thanks so much for your advice Annbag I really hope your lung infection clears up, sounds awful!!

SnozzberryPie · 06/04/2015 22:23

Annbag did you know why your ds was premature? Dd was born at 35 weeks, my waters suddenly broke. The drs couldn't find a reason so I've no idea if the same will happen again.

My morning sickness is actually afternoon sickness, I am fine in the morning and hit a wall of exhaustion and nausea at around 3pm. I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow.

Our age gap will be nearly three years, we timed it this way so dd would get her free nursery hours and hopefully be out of nappies. However I am worried that just as we are getting used to a good night's sleep again we'll be back to square one, so in some ways it may be better to get the sleepless nights over and done in one go.

TakesTwoToTango · 07/04/2015 00:12

SnozzberryPie · 07/04/2015 07:36

That sounds scary annbag, fingers crossed we both go to term this time Smile

roughtyping · 07/04/2015 07:59

takestwo was just wondering as a friend's wife is pregnant in Oz - we were talking about maternity leave and he said it's only 14 weeks there?! However I know it's not great in US either

Focusfocus · 07/04/2015 08:15

I've spent the long weekend having the most awful heartburn, gas, indigestion that has been offensive to everyone including DPup. Oh god, it's been so awful. I've been bringing up everything I've eaten, in chunks no lss. Imagine vomiting with heartburn, you're basically vomiting acid.

Got the liquid gaviscon double action yesterday and it seems to work better than the tabs.

I just want to be able to focus on the oregnancy and my work but first trimester joys are getting in the way!

Booking in appointment on Friday when I am exactly 10 weeks and then got a scan on Saturday!

Just popping back in to say hello. Enjoying the Highlands with DH and managed to do a 10 hour strenuous hill walk on Sunday. ARGH! I'm not sure if it's all the food but I definitely have a rounded pot belly - 8+2 - feels good to be past the 8 week marker.
