Hello Mums to be. I hope you can help. I am searching for a family who may be interested in sharing the experience of their baby with me. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist currently undertaking an Infant Observation Course as part of my further professional development. For those interested, details of the course can be found here www.thesap.org.uk/training/post-qual-programmes/infant-observation I would hope to meet a mother and father, in the late stages of pregnancy and begin observing soon after birth, for one hour a week, within his or her family. The object for me is to learn about normal infant development and parenting rather than from studying theory. The baby can be the first child or have siblings, and the timing would be arranged to suit the family. I realise that agreeing to such a commitment requires considerably generosity of the part of prospective parents, however most women find the experience rewarding and enjoy the consistent adult presence that the visits offer. A previous mum has said "It was lovely to have someone observing which encouraged me to notice what I would otherwise have missed". I am looking for a family based in the SWHerts / NW London area. If you wish further information, with no commitment, I can email more information or arrange to talk. Many thanks, Julie. [email protected] www.juliehardingtherapy.com
