Really sorry Turquoise hope all gets sorted. Sending hugs Flowers

Scottishgal78 · 14/03/2015 20:00

Aw turquoise rest up! You must've got such a fright! Woman in my work bled quite significantly every couple of weeks in her 2nd pregnancy. Turned out she had a wee polyp (think that's what it's called) that would fill then drain all the time. Just due to increased blood flow but no impact on baby at all.

Blondie87 · 14/03/2015 20:02

Oh no Turquoise what a horrible shock for you. At least it looks like baby is ok. Take care of yourself Flowers

Chookford · 14/03/2015 20:23

turquoise sorry to hear you are back in hospital, but glad you are being looked after... Really hope this stops for you soon

tori sorry to hear you are feeling down, but as others have said this is the time to let others help you and you just need to relax your body is doing so much at the moment it needs to be listened too, hope you feel better soon

Argh! Turquoise Thanks that must have been scary for you, my MIL had a huge 3 day bleed every 28 days (like a regular period) when she was pregnant with 3 of her 4 children. I'm glad your little one doesn't seem to be bothered though. Hang in there, you're in the best place at least.

I have had a rock solid bump all afternoon, it's incredibly uncomfortable but I'll be grateful for that because horrid bleeding has hot to be way worse.

Ds3 fell asleep at 5.30 so I'm likely to be awake very early in the morning.

leanne963 · 14/03/2015 21:31

Aw tori I bet it is hard when you are so independent usually! I feel bad as my partner cleans the entire house and will not let me help, if i try to get the hoover he will tell me to sit down lol

Oh turquoise Thinking of you!!! Praying everything is OK, so so sorry this is happening! How scary! Rest lots and at least you are being looked after! Big hug!!!!

SmileyScooby · 14/03/2015 21:36

blondie love the room

toi sorry to hear you've had a bit of a down day but wow at the gift from sister. We got given a few more new clothing bits today :)

turquoise sorry to hear you are in hospital. Must have been super scary but am pleased to hear baby appears ok. Thinking of you x

SmileyScooby · 15/03/2015 07:43

Grrr am up early again...am I doomed to never have a long sleep until like 9am again at the weekend?! I like my sleep Sad

bradders85 · 15/03/2015 07:50

smiley I share your frustration!! been awake on and off since 4! Sad turquoise hope you are ok and being well looked after x

Justyouwaitandsee · 15/03/2015 08:18

Only just catching up. Turquoise - hope you feel better soon. Hope the new hospital is treating you well. Take care and let us know how you get on.

Tori - please don't be too hard long yourself. 90mins of shopping would take it out of me, and I don't even really have much pelvic pain. Glad you managed to treat yourself a little too. I do understand the frustration though.

We went to our midwife class yesterday. Went very well, particularly for DH. good for him to get an understanding of the basics of labour. I am planning to try and have a natural birth though, so hoping that is the right choice. Our midwives are very encouraging in this - in fact they also really advocate home birth as well. Is that the same in other areas?

I did check about sleep positions, and there were a lot of anxious mums to be in the room. Her advice was while left side is best if poss, to listen to your own body and baby and do whatever feels right and most comfortable for you.

Baby Just had a great time. We were sat at the front of the class and I was wearing a thin top and it was going mad throughout moving and kicking in all directions. A few times the midwife broke off from what she was talking about to point out the movements and check I was ok. Everyone else in the class - right from across the room - said they had been watching too. i think we have a performer on our hands!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 15/03/2015 08:20

Ps. Happy Mother's Day to us all! ( I think that after 7/8 months of up s and downs then we all qualify!) Hope you all have plans for a lovely day FlowersBrewCake xxxx

applecore0317 · 15/03/2015 08:30

Another one that's been awake on and off since four, good thing about days off is that I can doze off again for an hour around seven, hip was sore last night. So have woken up grumpy...

ha ha just that's brilliant :)

Happy Mothers day everyone :) xxx

Chookford · 15/03/2015 08:55

Happy Mother's Day ladies, hope everyone has a lovely day... Flowers

Blondie87 · 15/03/2015 09:30

Sounds like a positive experience Just- your little one clearly agrees! Yes, in my area I was offered and slightly encouraged to have a home birth at my 6 week appointment! Liked the sound of it but have opted for a hospital birth as I'll end up worrying too much about what could go wrong! If I have a second I wouldn't rule to out though. Am doing an NCT class they seem quite pro natural birth which I'm aiming for bit won't feel like a failure if I'm screaming for the epidural! I suppose you have to go into birth flexible with your plans!

I hear you Apple and Smiley, in the 1 and 5 am club!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Not sure if I quite feel like a proper mummy yet but I'm sure that will change in about 8 weeks' time! Due two months' today!

KittyVonCatsington · 15/03/2015 09:38

Happy Mother's Day Flowers Ladies!!

Awesome present Tori!

Extremely scary for you Turquoise -so relieved you and Baby are okay. Yep, will start taking my notes with me.

Sounds like we are all struggling with Bumps/Sleep at the moment-but it does mean we are all on the home stretch!

I have done some reading about hypnobirthing Tori and have some CDs but havent had much time to practice yet. Have you done much prep? I was hoping to concentrate on this once I finish work at 36wks.

As always it brings some comfort to know am not alone with the stupid waking up at stupid times at the weekend!

Just that is great what your little one was doing hehe

Hubby said to me this morning "when's fathers day?" When I told him the answer he said "Woohoo, you've lucked out this year!" He better get me something wonderful next year for mothers day!!

Can't believe only 14 more school days to go until the holidays (D-day is inching ever closer!!)

applecore0317 · 15/03/2015 10:28

Can anyone recommend a good hypnobirthing book and cd, not signing up for the classes as already paid for NCT but am interested in it.

Am the same as most of you I think, keeping the birth and pain relief options open and going to see how it pans out.

Dragging DH to ikea today for no reason other than I fancy going :D

Justyouwaitandsee · 15/03/2015 10:34

aww smiley - I wouldn't let him get away with that! As far as I'm concerned we have already put up with several tough months and definitely already have a baby to look after and think about (just in different ways from when they will join us in the outside world! What are your plans for today? Can he cook, clean or pamper you while you lay back and relax?!

Justyouwaitandsee · 15/03/2015 10:41

apple - I am finding a book and cd combo from Katherine Graves the most useful. I had another one called Mindful Hypnobirthing by sophie fletcher but although it has great reviews it didn't really do it for me. One of the exercises was something like 'one, two, three, relax, relax, relax' and it just made me think of the stereotypical stage hypnotist. I guess you have to find what works best for you though. I think both books give different options. Katherine Graves focuses more on long monologues about how the baby will be safe, and you will be fine and coaches you to think about focusing on your body and what you need to do to get through the birth.

gingerfluffball · 15/03/2015 10:48

Tori, apple & just - I've been reading a bit about hypnobirthing as quite liked the sound of it. There's a UK book and cd combo called Natal Hypnotherapy by Maggie Howell which I downloaded on kindle and then bought the mp3s from the website. It's good, there are obligatory panpipes and dolphins (which dh always mocks mercilessly!) but it's less Americanised and more just about trusting yourself and your body to birth without being afraid and avoiding lots of adrenaline which can slow things down. I've been listening a couple of times a week and feeling much more relaxed about everything so far. Worth a shot I think!

Justyouwaitandsee · 15/03/2015 11:18

I agree Ginger - Katharine Graves is English too, and no panpipes or dolphins! I just looked her up on YouTube and there are quite a few videos explaining her techniques as well as full length versions of all three CDs I mentioned. She runs parent courses in london but they are £297 for a weekend. Might play my DH the YouTube clips though (he is not a reader)
