Anti D done, was given the choice of bum or arm. She said bum hurts less so opted for that. All fine, slight sting but thats it, for those still to have it.

They do make you hang around in reception for ten mins after to ensure you don't have a reaction

Scottishgal78 · 13/03/2015 16:48

Hi all. Woo hoo it's Friday. Had Anti-D today too. Got told I'm slightly anaemic and been given iron tablets. Hope it doesn't mean I get the dreaded constipation! Had Dermot dancing on since I got home. Strangely watchable and the music'll cheer you right up!

KittyVonCatsington · 13/03/2015 16:55

Feeling do hope you have a lovely bump moon and you too piglet hope you have a lovely weekend!

Do we have the same MiL leanne!? Mine to is getting on my nerves and her family don't pick her up on her rudeness-just say "Oh MiL is just like that" Angry Latest passive aggressive comment was last weekend when I was sitting on my chair eating toast "You don't want to over-eat as you'll get stretch marks"
Grrrrrr!!

I have a head between my legs as opposed to feet so am constantly walking like John Wayne and I am only 32+5!!!

Thank God that jab is done with apple!!!

Haha Kitty Are you my also pregnant SIL?! Ha with my MIL she loves to tell you that she did everything better or first. 'Oh you made lasagne for tea last night? Oh i make it from scratch and make my own pasta and sauce and everything...did you just use the jars did you?' She has always been REALLY busy and her life is hectic....she doesn't work and doesn't drive so sits at home on facebook all day....but she desperately needs a holiday as she is just getting over the stress of Christmas. I Wish i was exaggerating but i am not. I arranged to get my family together for a meal with my partners family and my mum and her husband work full time and sometimes weekends so i had to plan 3 weeks in advance and his mum goes and cancels 3 hours before my mum and her husband were turning up. Fuming. God knows how it will be when their first grandchild arrives in May...'Oh your tired?! Oh well when i was a mum i had two children under 5 and i was practically a single mum because my husband worked nights...' It is always a competition argh.

SmileyScooby · 13/03/2015 20:12

Leanne I know what you mean about the stabby pains, not nice! Thankfully I haven't had any for a few days :)

tori sorry to hear about the weird tastes...although you have now made me think about pink wafers which I haven't had for years!

I'm only just over 31w but I swear bump is lower this evening than was yesterday/this morning...and someone at work said it looked lower...should I be worried? I certainly don't feel as bloated as have been...

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/03/2015 20:34

Argh! This baby does nothing but hiccup! That is all. Confused

Kyz · 13/03/2015 21:24

Evening everyone :)

The sleeping propped up thing kind of worked, I eventually fell asleep, but kept waking up having wriggled down! I gave up at about 3am and just went to sleep normally but found the breathlessness wasn't that bad by then and today hasn't been too bad either so perhaps baby has decided to shifty out of the way

apple any shaving I have done on the bottom half of my body has been done with a prayer and a ruddy good guess. I have never asked dp how it looks and he has the sense not to mention it. Good man!

hope you have a lovely time Feelingblessed

hope you have a lovely weekend away piglet - yes, my emotions are all over the place. My DS has beautiful long hair, but recently keeps saying it's being pulled, and it's becoming a bugger to comb in the morning, but the thought of cutting it all off had me sobbing into my sofa cushions earlier. I try not to care when people assume he's a girl because he has long hair, I wouldn't have it cut just for that, but if it's bugging him that's different. I don't know what to do with it tbh. But it feels like a massive huge thing and I get a lump in my throat every time I think about it now! On the other hand I am very easily filled with 'the rage' and get very pissed off very quickly!! I had one of those phonecalls earlier about having had an accident - which of course I hadn't. The poor fellow on the end of the phone probably really wished he hadn't rang me by the time I had finished my rant Blush

hope the scan goes well on sunday royalsteph

nope apple it's normal to feel that way I think. I remember feeling quite a bit like that once DS was born. I remember literally stomping my feet and crying that it wasn't fair that he could get up and go for a shit for half an hour whenever he fucking well felt like it without saying a word, and yet if I needed to go to the toilet I had to think about the baby/cooking/etc!! glad the anti D is out of the way now too btw :)

glad your anti D is out of the way too scottish :)

wow guys, reading about these MILs makes me extra grateful for mine, she is wonderful (sorry to rub it in!)

tits same here! always with the hiccups!

leanne963 · 13/03/2015 21:39

Smiley I don't think it's anything to worry about, probably just changing position! My bump is usually really firm and while I was in he bath earlier it just went really flat and went squidgy, I was like ahhhhh! Haha

kyz a prayer and a ruddy good guess hahaha that made me giggle!!!

Turquoisetamborine · 14/03/2015 03:45

Awake with heartburn after having an Indian earlier and I have no gaviscon or rennies. I've drank a load of water but now I'll just be up for the toilet loads. Urgh!

Do you all lie on your back for short periods when awake at night? I even feel guilty for that even though I can feel baby move all over at the minute.
Kyz sorry you feel emotional about his hair. I find I get upset about little things at the moment.
Royal hope baby cooperates for your scan, looking forward to seeing the photos.
Leanne your MIL sounds a bloody nightmare. Mine is just very weird. She used to leave her sons at the bottom of the garden every day in their prams for a sleep in all weathers even if they screamed for hours and thinks I should do the same! She rang us at 6.30am yesterday to tell us she had just noticed a missed call from yesterday afternoon. Who rings at that time!?
Nuts.
Going to try to sleep now and be thankful I won't have the hangover my friends who I was at the meal with will have! Night night.

leanne963 · 14/03/2015 03:47

Heya turquoise baby was awake and kicking and I had restless legs so I'm up and awake now lol! might make a cuppa! Havnt suffered from heartburn yet so I'm not looking forward to that one :( hope you manage to get some sleep! Omg 6.30 am? No thank you lol!!

leanne963 · 14/03/2015 03:50

And YES to lying to my back! I was talking to my god mother about the 'no sleeping on back thing' and she had no idea what I was talking about and she has a 12 year old daughter. Seems like all these suggestions in pregnancy are very new, so I am assuming it is safe to sleep how we want. Also, this might be my wired middle of the night brain talking, but at what angle are you lying flat as opposed to sitting upright?! Like what angle determines whether you are suitably propped up enough to be allowed to fall asleep on your back?

KittyVonCatsington · 14/03/2015 05:18

Yep leanne 'same' MiL!!! She retired at 50 (lucky baby boomer) and is now 66 and yet she is always too 'busy' to do anything and her life is so much more important and don't we all just know it!!! DH and I are the 'youngest' in the family (I'm 34) and when we announced pregnancy her first and only comment was "I didn't think you were going to go down that path" just because we didn't get pregnant straight after getting married like the other two SiLs I did try but it took us longer with a couple of losses but I was damned if she was going to know any of that!!!! and we didn't tell her we were TTC. Thankfully DH knows what she is like and is v supportive Grin

Low is fine Smiley means Baby is in good position but I do sympathise as is uncomfortable!!!

I can't sleep either-everything just hurts!!! Got out of bed at 4.30 in the end and am now on sofa Googling. Come on Baby-be nice to Mummy!!!!!

God knows leanne I am just grateful for any position that is comfortable!

SmileyScooby · 14/03/2015 06:54

Morning all, been awake on and off since 3 but got up at 6. No real reason just couldn't really sleep. Think my body is getting me used to having no sleep!!

Turquoise Re lying on back I agree with Leanne and Kitty whichever position is comfortable, I too wake up on my back at times and feel guilty but can still feel him move so I don't worry too much about it. I am sleeping with 2 pillows so head is slightly elevated so am not completely flat.
Hope the heartburn has gone, I know sipping cold milk helps my DH sometimes.

Leanne and Kitty crikey sounds like you have both got a "Woman Hitler" (anagram of mother in law hehe) my MIL is lovely but she does live a little while away, whereas my mum is the fussy one with opinions (although I do love her dearly of course - she's my mum hehe)

applecore0317 · 14/03/2015 07:12

The sleeping on your back thing is just that the uterus can press against a major artery I think, but if it happens you will wake up with a bit of a shock and naturally move yourself anyway, so no one if it happened would sleep through it anyway. Plus I get the impression it only affects a small amount of women as we lie down for midwife appointments, scans etc.

I can't sleep flat on my back anyway, that and sleeping on my stomach will trigger sciatica for me, something that I have managed to get on top of for a couple of years. Although I do seem to roll on it now, but the pillow that I put behind me keeps me slightly titled when I do that.

Sorry to all those with MIL issues, I'm lucky in that mine is lovely, but can be very over sensitive. DH is south african so they live over there :)

Sorry you have heartburn Turquoise I am having to be very choosey about dinners now because of it which sucks

shinyhappyone · 14/03/2015 07:46

Looks like a few of us have had difficult nights sleep. I just got so hot after some bad dreams. Should have come on here to calm myself down!

I'm so that my mil is so supportive, my hubby is one of 7. He's the eldest at 28 and the youngest would be 5 (sadly we lost him at 5 months) so she has been through it all recently and all the highs and lows possible. I was hoping the pregnancy would bring me closer to my mum but sadly she's not been all that interested. Can't win em all I suppose!

Yay to the wknd. Hope everyone has a good one xx

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/03/2015 08:35

I cannot get comfortable, if I sleep on my back or side I get savage heartburn, I generally create a little nest to slump forward over on my knees but even that's not working, I'm catching 10 min naps sitting up atm.

Cannot wait for the 14th now, I'm beginning to feel quite low. Sad

Turquoisetamborine · 14/03/2015 08:45

Omg tits do you have one month to go?? Scary!
I got back to sleep eventually only for son to tip a box of Lego out at 8am which woke me. Every mother loves that sound of Lego being tipped all over the floor!
Shiny have you never been close to your mother? Is this her first grandchild? Mine is very interested but with it being her fourth GC she can't be quite as involved as the first time.
Apple thanks for the advice about lying on my back. I never sleep like that but when I wake in the night i lie on my mobile on my back. I won't worry about that now.
We have a busy day dropping presents off for Mother's Day so I'd better get up. Have a lovely day everyone x

Chookford · 14/03/2015 09:02

Morning ladies

Hope everyone has a lovely day today..

Sorry to hear many of you are suffering with sleeping and MIL's!!!

tits you only gave one month left?! Crap this means this shit is getting real!!! Grin

bradders85 · 14/03/2015 09:16

Hi everyone, joining a few of you after a night of disturbed sleep.....wish I could lie in! Hope those of you who are away for the weekend have a lovely time. Enjoy the weekend ladies :)

longestlurkerever · 14/03/2015 10:06

Kyz re your ds's hair, could you try a trim and a tangle teaser brush rather than a drastic cut? Split ends cause tangles. I am lazy with dd's hair but when I wash it I put conditioner in and get all the knots out with a tangle teaser brush which she complains about much less than a comb. I more or less leave it alone between washes.

tori - could you just be hungry? I vomited the other morning and I think it was because dd woke me up early but I didn't have breakfast straight away. Blood sugar levels have been a bit bizarre and dropped very low yesterday so I've been trying to eat more, but have got the highest post breakfast reading so far this morning. Just want to see consultant now - appointment is on Monday after growth scan - but I am nervous about that part.

Happy weekends everyone. Anyone doing anything for mothers' day? Dh asked dd what she thought I would like to do and she said "maybe the park or swimming?" so I think that's what we're doing lol.

Blondie87 · 14/03/2015 10:06

Morning ladies, not been on the thread for a while so lots to catch up on! Visiting my parents this weekend and they completely surprised me when they showed me what they had done to my old room!
