Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Little Piggie - I had my appt at 8wks, and will have scan at 12-13wks. Their policy here is 1st appt 8-10wks. I think the scan should be done 12-14 weeks tho for the Nuchal transluency and also more accurate dating - so I would look at your dates and ring the GP about getting one even if you don't have your mW appt till after. Tho some areas don't do scans till 21 wks apparently.

Hope everyone's had a good relaxing weekend. I've had a lovely time with my DH (who's been away all week) DS and sister who normally lives in NZ but is back in UK for a while. Feeling quite chilled for a change!

But now that I'm going to bed I'm thinking about our scan on Tues (I'll be thinking of you giulia - what time is your's?) and starting to get into worrying overdrive again. Doesn't help that sis is a doc and looks at me with concerned eyes and a "well, it could go either way and you know it and I'm just being realistic" kind of expression. Grrr. Why don't docs have all the answers?! And good ones at that. I even made her a lovely dinner, the least she could do is sort out a teeny weeny heartbeat. How very rude!

Trying to keep positive Good sticky luck for all of us this week.

abgirl · 27/11/2006 08:40

Hi All

Sorry to hear your news Mumpbump .

Hope everyone else had a good weekend. I seemed to spend most of it asleep. MS seems a bit better over the last few days though, which is good.

Chooster · 27/11/2006 09:19

So sorry Mumpbump - I hope you are looking after yourself. It would be nice to hear how you are doing, but make sure you avoid these ante-natal threads if you think it will be upsetting. Take care xx

Good luck to all those with scans coming up - there seem to be quite a few of you. Mine is not for another couple of weeks but am already nervous.

Littlepiggie - I'd push to get an earlier appt as you dont want to be get lost in the admin loop and then not get your scan until 15 weeks. When PG with my DS I got my dates wrong and when I went for my 12 week scan I was actually 15 weeks and they couldn't do the nuchal fold test as it was too late.

Bodkin - Sorry, but your post about the scandanavian woman did make me smile. Your face must have been a picture My DH works for British Airways and sometimes when we come off flights we end up chatting with all these perfectly coiffured / manicured BA cabin crew / staff while I'm looking an absolute heap - especially if DS has been travelling with us.

Hope all those with MS are feeling ok - its started a wee bit for me, but not as bad as last time - fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse.

emmyb · 27/11/2006 09:36

Well Ive given in and had the day off work. I felt awful over the weekend I literally couldnt move so I slept and palmed DD off with family. DH is working all weekend at the mo so Im finding it hard. Dont feel as bad today but DH would not let me go to work and who am I to argue. I'm finding the constant feeling ill very hard to deal with. I cant even do normal things like wash up or go to the shop.
I suppose its just my body telling me to take it easy so I am. I would feel awful if I didnt slow down and something happened.

Its not helping that I cant eat proper meals and am living off crisps and preggie pops, mum sent me a meal (she lives down the road) last night because I fancied what she was having for tea. That helped!

Anyway back to watching daytime tv and relaxing. Hope everyone is ok. Has anyone else had to have time off?

Groveregg · 27/11/2006 09:46

Ooh that sounds lovely emmyb, I would love the chance to catch up on daytime tv - and some sleep. I am so tired but can't seem to get to sleep for ages at night. I tried an afternoon nap yesterday but after 10 minutes the phone rang... I think the hormones are kicking in now -I am so irritable and horrible. Just shouted at ds twice this morning just because he was moaning over his breakfast so am feeling bad now. I had forgotten that horrible permanent pmt feeling from last time.

I am quietly envious of everyone having scans; here I won't get one for ages unless we pay for a private one at 11-12 weeks. Good luck to everyone!

lynneclynne · 27/11/2006 10:06

emmyb, enjoy your day of relaxing, i hope you feel better soon! I too took the day off as its my b/day so just going shopping with dh and out for some lunch.
I hope everyones feeling ok!

Dophus · 27/11/2006 10:17

Hello everyone,

I am 9.5 weeks and due end of June beginning of July (30 June) but thought I'd join in here!

Feeling dreadful - really really tired and struggling to cope with full time job, 22 month DS1 etc. He really doesn't understand 'Mummy's tired' and I feel awful plonking him in front of the telly after nursery (no tv rules disappeared over the last couple of weeks, it is now actively encouraged!).

Also waiting for date of my scan and haven't yet seent he midwife. As you all do, I really want to know all is OK before X-mas.

My waistline is expanding rapidly. Not helped by my desire (and inability) to eat nothing but fat and carbs. The thought of anything healthy makes me wretch!

Cyee · 27/11/2006 10:39

Really, really sorry Mumpbump - sad news. Take care of yourself.

Emmyb - I had 2-3 days off last week. Felt hideous. Still feeling bad now, but am now into a puke-shower-breakfast routine which works a lot of the time (sorry TMI!). I'm really lucky that my work is being great. I had to tell them last week as I felt a) there was no way they'd believe a tummy bug lasted so long and b) I felt like I was never going to recover, hence better be open. They've been fab and are taking the view 'there's nothing you can do about it, take it easy and let's hope it eases by 12 weeks'. I have to say I was pretty surprised at the reaction.

Scanwise - I'll be 12 weeks on Christmas eve and hope to hear about the appointment this week.

Best wishes to all you fellow ms sufferers... and to those lucky people who are feeling ok.

Try to have a good day everyone

Well i didnt manage to get online all weekend - and what a busy lot you all have been. Honestly, if you miss a couple of days on here theres so much to read up on !
Went to a party on saturday - could only find 1 top that fitted . Luckily no one asked if id put on weight - so either they didnt notice or they were thinking to themselves "god she's let herself go/is she pregnant? but cant be rude and ask!") Have another week off work this week - am very grateful - had 11 hrs sleep last night!!
Bought some cream this weekend to start rubbing in to avoid stretch marks - so am really getting into the swing of things - BUT - had a horrible dream last night about MC and holding this tiny baby in my hand........not very nice - has any one else had similar dreams?

no, hopefully its just 4 today and ill forget about it - but after 4 mcs myself, nearly every minute of every day I am thinking about this pregnancy and keeping ev thing crossed!

dewmeadow · 27/11/2006 15:48

Hello to all!! [waving emoticon]

What a busy bunch you all are when I miss a couple of days! And of course having a pregnanthead means that whatever I read I wont remember!!

Dont think lack of symptoms means anything at all. I am having quite strong symptoms, especially compared to my first two, and Im still worried. I had a mc between my two and I had symptoms with that pregnancy too and then they just stopped, and I sort of knew but didnt want to believe it.

Still wrecked and therefore cant be talked to (as they say here) Im that crotchety! Poor dh!

Hi all - gosh don't we all feel like old hands now there is a due in August thread!

Chooster - I've started getting a bit nauseous now too, not unbearable, but waves of it when I suddenly can't face eating what I was craving a minute before. Mind you, had fish finger sandwich for lunch and that went down an absolute treat! Am planning a trip to a well known high street fast food emporium tomorrow as have been craving a big mac for the past week now. Didn't have this with first preg at all - ate really healthily. Now I just want white bread and salty crap! Am managing to force the odd green item down me everyday though.

Have docs appointment booked for next week now, so that should get the ball rolling and make it all feel a bit more real.

lynneclynne · 27/11/2006 17:55

Hi ladies! I hope you are all well! Its been v busy in here!
justbeme, i had a similar dream to own on Sunday, had to get up at 5am as i couldnt get back to sleep because of it, i hope i get my app v soon as my mind is working overtime about mc, especially with no symptoms in sight yet, apart from peeing a bit more than usual. I hope things get better for us soon!
Take care everyone and good luck with the scans!

beartime · 27/11/2006 19:29

justbeme - i hope this pg goes OK for you. 4 m/cs must be really hard. I had awful dreams with ds, but it was around his birth time, and I dreamed I dropped things on him, or gave him to people tohold and came back and he was cut in half or naked on the floor or they'd eaten him! So I then became extremely overprotective and have never let anyone go anywhere with him apart from DH!

littlepiggie · 27/11/2006 19:48

phoned gp today, have an appointment for thursday, the lady i spoke to said i needed to be seen as soon as possible as i am nearly 8 weeks, so have no idea where the first one got after christmas from.

Feel a bit better now, i just dont feel pg though, with ds i knew before af was due, this time i only did a test as had not had af for nearly 7 weeks, did not think i was pg, put it down to bf, was not even going to bother doing a test.

Had a few yicky feeling days, been tired, and the pulling feeling around hips that i got with ds, but maybe it has still not sunk in, but i dont feel pg.
(only found out tuesday, not planed at all as still bf a 7 month old)

cazzybabs · 27/11/2006 21:21

Guess I shouldn't complain but I still have no symptons...well i am a litle tired but then I keep waking up the night worring about work stuff and just to moan I have a relaly sore infected in growing toenail and my excema has come bak after not having any for about 10 years so its scratch scratch scratch - its driving me mad!!!!! Anway hopefully when I have time to visit the doctor I can tell her/him I have one good thing and several bad things wrong/right with me....hum ho.

And I am worring all those lack of symtoms means 1 thing - mc! oh well I guess I'll just have to wait and see - my punsihment for not wanting a summer baby.

Anway on a less moany note - anyone else have tons of work parties - am slightly worried about explainnign my lack of drinking. Lots of people know I am desperete for another baby...so I think not drinking will be a big clue! Also as we don't have a car can't blame that one either.

justbeme · 27/11/2006 21:42

Its nice to know that Im not alone with my thoughts and previous experiences - so thanks you lot!!
At the party I went to on saturday - I managed to fool people by helping myself to drinks in a wine glass - i had apple juice which looked like white wine and cranberry juice which looked like red!! So maybe lemonade could be vodka and lemonade etc or you could come down with a terrible ear ache and be on the antibiotics!

cazzybabs · 27/11/2006 21:56

Yes - that is what I will have to do...although the 3 parties are all at resturants and some overlap of people...oh well I guess it is lucky I am pregnant with all those dinners!!!!!! Baby or too much yummy food???

LieselVonTrapp · 27/11/2006 22:35
