Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Hi everyone,

Typhoon Im with you, im not letting dh any where near me till ive had my 12week scan. This is because last time we had sex when I was pg, i started to bleed the next day and then I lost it, si theres no way im taking any risks this time.

Dont want to put people off though, with my dd we had sex all the way through. I think if youve had a m/c its wise to be cautious thats all.

Does anyone else have terrible wind? Im so jealous of the ones who say they have no symptoms. I feel sick and weak most of the time, and in the evening just cant stop doing the most smelliest farts ever, honest its horrid.

Dh will probably divorce me soon , poor bloke. No sex and a stinky wife.

flopflip · 19/11/2006 11:34

I feel exactly the same, I think once bitten twice shy, had m/c before so I want to like typhoonsmum want to giv ethe little thing every chance then if something does happen, I can't blame myself.

Hope everybody is well.

typhoonsmum · 19/11/2006 12:09

I am getting my threads confused. On two very similiar so if I ramble nonsense just ignore me. Most people do.
Have had a little stabby pain on the left side. It doesn't hurt lasts about a nano second and coincides with my coughs (have a horrible dry cough atm) But being the melodramatic that I am turning into I'm thinking ECTOPIC. I know it isn't. Ectopic is a excruciating pain that stops you in your tracks. Not this. but it won't leave my mind. Had period type pains this morning too. So convincing myself it is all going wrong. I SWEAR I'M GOING MAD.

Please help me see reason.
I have no bleeding
No real pain
Much darker test lines
Sore boobs

Oh on the sore boobs thing. My bras are getting too tight. I have the four boobs look going on. ( when material digs in and shows thru your top so instead of two lovely lady lumps you look like you have four) Never noticed this as much in previous pregnancies. Will they go back down in a bit or should I start buying new bras now.( I know they will get bigger near the end )

Chooster · 19/11/2006 14:46

Hi typhoonsmum - I dont know much about ectopics other than my friend who had one and she said it was really bad pain. I'd imagine if you're getting short stabbing pains, it may just be things stretching around a bit. But, am sure none of this will make you feel better. Have you got a doctor / midwife appt coming up? if so maybe ask about all your fears then. I'm going to be going into my appt with a list of questions / worries

helenmumof2 · 19/11/2006 14:52

hi all
i've not been on for ages, hideous morning sickness has wiped me out and it is a struggle to get through the day
typhoonsmum - i've now got the four boobs look too which is so not attractive, and i don't know about getting bigger bras either. last time i bought ones with no underwires which were hideous, do i really have to do that does anyone know?

earlyriser · 19/11/2006 14:58

I wore mostly underwires the whole of my last pregnancy. when i went into markies to get fitted for my nursing bras i got a right telling off from the assistant for wearing them. Didn't seem to do my milk production any harm though. I guess it maybe depends on how tight they are round the fleshy part of your boobs, mine seemed to sit on my ribcage, if that makes any sense.

typhoonsmum · 19/11/2006 15:56

Not been to see the Doctor yet as last time I went I miscarried a week later and had to go and cancel all the appointments he had so carefully made. Was going to leave the doctor until I was about six weeks. Or see how I feel. I feel more confident than last time. Just don't want to tempt fate.
That stabby thing has stopped now anyway. Was prob just panicking.

typhoonsmum · 19/11/2006 15:57

Wore underwire all last pregnancy with no problems. Breastfed for 10 days but it was mastitis that stopped me (TWICE)

emmyb · 19/11/2006 16:36

Hi all,
Not got the four boobs yet but the pain when i take my bra off at night is awful I have to carry my boobs to bed ( they are quite big to start with).
Dont know how Im going to manage at work tomorrow without my afternoon naps that I have had this weekend!!

Kyte, I've never had my weight monitored during pregnancy, don't worry about it! I know some places occasionally will weigh at booking in but it's unlikely

typhoonsmum · 19/11/2006 18:56

At my last booking in they weighed me ( and dp sniggered as he hadn't found out my weight until then - GIT) took a brief family medical history and then I had the scan. Gave me the date for my next scan and explained how the ante natal care would work during the pregnancy. That was nearly five years ago now so things may have changed

beartime · 19/11/2006 19:09

Kyte, I got an early scan thru ringing the doctor at the surgery. they say come in if you're worried. Then the doc refers you for the scan and to go to the Early pregnancy unit at the hospital where they talk to you about it. It's a bit scary goign there though cos there's lots of posters on the wall about how to deal with miscarriage and stuff At my booking in last time we went thru family history, previous pregnancies, health, blood tests, etc. and due dates, and where I wanted to give birth I think. They don't put too much on weight gain now.

I keep having pains, then they come out as stinky gas! My Dh isn't too impressed with that symptom of pregnancy I think he thinks I'm making it up that's it's related too - i'm just stinky generally or something!

dorisofdevon · 19/11/2006 20:00

Have another confession I too am stinky having THE most horrendous farts (If I was a man think I would be proud) I do remember this from last time and DH didn't believe it was pregnancy related NOW I HAVE PROOF!!!!!

As for all of you with pains crossed fingers it's just everything stretching down there! not pleasnt whilst it's happening though.

My sister confronted me this evening, was over at her house for a meal with "is that a baby bump" she must have been fairly confident that it was cos otherwise she was just calling me fat !!!(I can no longer get into my trousers) Is it just me overeating or is it 2nd pregs??? thought I started to show much much later last time??

Miaou · 19/11/2006 20:08

doris, when I was 5 months pg with dd2, I was in clothes that I only wore when 9 months pg with dd1 - sorry!

I haven't put on an ounce as yet - I tend to explode about month 5

jennster · 19/11/2006 21:42

Hmm me too with stinky farts

beartime · 20/11/2006 09:09

I'm in next size up jeans already and my tops are way too small - belly showing thing. Have to wear a long jumper over them! And when I go anywhere i try and wear layers so noone guesses!

earlyriser · 20/11/2006 09:58

Just made my dp read this thread (well the ones about the stinky farts) to prove it's not just me! I do try and blame some of them on my 13mo old but not much i can do once she is in bed.

Groveregg · 20/11/2006 12:21

Well that is weird, I was suffering with stinky farts too last week and did wonder if it was related. Luckily though my dh has no sense of smell. I did feel a bit bad though when I saw a friend and she kept sniffing her ds's nappy to see if it needed changing!

Mumpbump · 20/11/2006 12:22

Hello there! This thread grows so much over the weekend, I think I'm going to have to log in on Sunday nights to catch up with it all!! In relation to a couple of things that people have mentioned,

m/c - I asked my doctor if there was anything I could do to avoid another m/c and she said there was no real rhyme or reason, but to avoid heavy lifting!

b/f whilst pg (and this is simply for information) - When I asked my doctor about how much time to leave between babies, she did say that it was asking a bit much of your body to nurture one baby whilst growing another one and that there was a correlation between b/f whilst pg and low birth weights in the new baby...

Other than that, I am feeling pretty good today except for a slight headache. Two of ds' new teeth are through and only two more to go so I am hoping he will start sleeping better by the end of the week - fingers crossed. We told my sil yesterday who was very pleased for us both! Kind of nice, but still nervous about the potential for another m/c...

Baysmum · 20/11/2006 12:42

hello everyone, Im a newby. Complete surprise 2nd pregnancy (ds is 16mnths) and am due 22nd July - same as couple of others on this thread i think! hi all - just a quick one to say to typhoonsmum: don't worry, as you mentioned, pain from ectopic is much more severe - you wouldn't be able to get up or walk around normally. would very likely be accompanied by bleeding too.

i am now 5w1d and will be scanned next week to check i'm not having another ep - no more bleeding and no pain, but standard procedure. am feeling impatient

fido · 20/11/2006 13:50

hello all
just found this thread, I've never looked on the ante natal bit before. I'm due 17th July, have 2ds age 3 and 4. I also took a while persuading husband to try for number 3 and then one session later........
