Yeah I'm taking a year too tout Some will be unpaid so that will be weird. If I could take more I would. I don't think I will miss work but if you have good workmates you would miss the banter?
My job was physical but got put on desk duty. It's the doing 10hr shifts that I can't take. Cos it means leaving house at 0830 and getting home after nine. Yuck!

Hidingthefear · 25/02/2015 23:05

Your right smogs they can be pretty tiresome!
you've all just reminded me that I still need to buy an exercise ball. Ordered my nursing pillow today and proudly announced to DH that I had everything now, but then I remembered we want the iso fix base and now I need to add ball to my list lol
I will be mega bored if I go over due but I'm only finishing in 4 weeks because with hols it's either use em or loose em. Used a week already when I was off sick the other week but it's better than sick pay.
Hope alls well while your OH is in Scotland daholster and bump can hang on until he gets back!

Hope everyone has a good night's kip. Na night.

FiRaffe · 25/02/2015 23:08

What size exercise ball do those of you who have them use?
The lady at NCT had one which was really comfy but mine feels really small and i'm pretty sure she said it was 65cm as well

mswibble · 25/02/2015 23:36

I'm using my nursing pillow as a back support on the sofa at the moment, it makes such a difference! I got a Woolibaloo one, it was on offer on an email from Emma's Diary so it was £24.99 which is pricey but I love the sheep skin cover.www.woolibaloo.com/all-products/woolibaloo-nursing-feeding-pillow/

daholster · 26/02/2015 00:30

Have worked out with the shift I am booked for on 18th March I have got my "out of hours" time required before end of contract down to 18hrs... Hopefully that will be easy to do over 7 weeks when I return; 2 night shifts or 3 weekday evenings. Phew! Given the logistical difficulties now with dh being away maybe I'll leave it at that.

Fi pretty sure mine is a 65cm too.

Just had a look on mini boden. Some nice things but super expensive!!! Shock

Wineandchoccy · 26/02/2015 02:01

I can't sleep Sad I'm sat downstairs because I'm hot and have heartburn.

daholster I got the mini boden catalogue the other day and I loved pretty much everything but would need to win the lottery to pay for it all!

Hidingthefear · 26/02/2015 07:17

I think the hormones are finally having their warming affect on me. DH is usually always hot and I'm freezing but I've turned the heating off and I'm still toasty all the time and DH keeps complaining about how cold it is. Told him to put a jumper on and stop moaning :)
Didn't realise there were different size balls, I'll have a look what argos ones argos are.
hope you managed to get some kip wine

My NCT teacher said 65cm balls are for people who are 5ft 4 to 5ft 8 and 75cm balls are for people taller than 5ft 8.

skyra13 · 26/02/2015 07:28

I got my ball from charity shop for 3 pound never been used, was scared it might pop but not really found I have needed to sit on it much but it does freak my dog out!

I am 5.4 and feel my ball might be little to big so I deflated it a little but I think I over done it in the first place. It is a 65cm one pumped to about 60cm.

Do braxtion Hicks feel like period pains? Had pain a lot last night some times in my back when I went to bed kept getting shooty period type pains in my left side :( kept thinking I would go into labour lol

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2015 07:28

Hope you got back to sleep Wineandchoccy!

I have no idea what size my ball is, I thought they were all the same Blush I got mine from the yoga teacher when I had ds1.

I actually slept all night, yay! I meet my friend for a run on Thursday mornings most weeks so my alarm went off at 5.30 though unfortunately! Doesn't feel like it at the time but so worth it for how I feel now!

Wineandchoccy · 26/02/2015 07:49

Went back to bed at 4am and managed a couple more hours sleep, feel rubbish this morning though and got a training session with work today, yuk!

My ball is from Sports Direct and it is 70cm and I am 5' 7".

Hidingthefear · 26/02/2015 07:59

hmm i'm only 5ft (5ft 1 at a push), so now i'm thinking a ball might be too big for me anyway. Might do what you suggested skyra and just not pump a 65 one up fully.

Nunkie · 26/02/2015 08:00

Morning All,

How are you finding your running now Cinnamon? Sounds like you're still going great guns? I am mostly still down to a slow-arse mile or two with some stops and stretches :0D
Went to the gym for a change last night as DP goes, and had a very leisurely crack on the elliptical and their exercise bikes. Still finding it very helpful for any aches and pains (particularly my hips which are kicking off a bit!)

Another one here who wants an exercise ball! (I can remember our NHS lady telling us mentioning the different sizes but only remember that I'm 5ft 6 and therefore medium)

Oh dear, really could do with another wax before Peanut arrives - that should be interesting tho, as I found I couldn't stay on my back for more than about 3 minutes at a time last time without feeling squiffy. I wonder if I should suggest all fours next time?Shock

Hidingthefear · 26/02/2015 08:01

oo, if anyone else is a short arse, they do a 55cm ball. think i'm going to get one of those.
found one on Ebay and it's only £7 so gonna get one today.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2015 08:25

I'm still doing 3-4miles 3-4 times a week Nunkie, my friend I run with Thursday mornings like a few stops and with the dogs we stop to put the back on/off leads depending on where we are so it took 49 mins to do 4 miles with the dogs going in he river once too this morning :) I do parkrun non-stop in 31-32mins (pb 27mins) and a canicross run Sunday and/or mon too so dogs help!

RL20 · 26/02/2015 09:16

Morning everyone.

Have my Whooping Cough jab later on this morning.
Felt like since yesterday afternoon baby hasn't been moving as much, but has still been moving so not quite sure what to do. Have been to see midwives twice before, once they came out to me and second time I went to the hospital at around 6am in the morning after panicking about no movement. But this time I just don't feel like the movements are as strong as they have been for the past week as he's been really active. I feel like he has moved position but I just don't know.
Feel like it's becoming a fortnightly/3 weekly thing of me worrying Sad
I didn't know whether to wait until the whooping cough jab at the doctors to see if the nurse will be able to check anything (although I don't know if she would, and midwives are only in on Wednesdays as far as I know).
Or call the midwife office beforehand, which means calling my partner whilst he's at work and then also letting my mum know as I'm due to go round to hers afterwards.
I hate worrying other people but obviously I can't just go without telling anyone.
Please help

Nunkie · 26/02/2015 09:16

That's bonkers, I am super-impressed! :0D The question is: how do you manage the 4 milers without needing to stop and wee, cos I can't even manage two without that happening? (Luckily the route takes me past the local uni so I can dive into their toilets!!)
No more dirty looks off anyone I hope? :0)
(Tbh I don't think a whole lot of folk notice i'm preggers as I have a big baggy hoody on a lot of the time. They're probably wondering why I'm huffing and puffing a bit more than usual tho :0)

RL20 · 26/02/2015 09:17

I'll add that my whooping cough appointment is due at 10.45

RL go back to the hospital or call the midwife if you're worried and don't feel bad - that's what they're there for!

I'm the same actually, keeping an eye on Peanut as they're moving but more quietly since yesterday evening (maybe I clonked them on the head with the gym session? :0o) but I'm leaving it a couple more hours before I panic. (Oop, as if on cue, they are starting to stir more now!)
But if you're worried, just go or ring! :0) ??

I would give them a quick ring RL better to be safe then sorry.
I panic a lot but that's due to my little one being lazy she hardly moves she also goes dead quiet on fridays seems to be her patten Hmm hoping she this chilled when she arrives lol

Nunkie · 26/02/2015 09:37

PS: Cinnamon, and other runners on the thread, have you seen this? I expect so since you do Parkrun anyway:
www.parkrun.com/research/current-projects/recreational-running-during-pregnancy/

I went to fill it in the other day, but then realised you had to have actually had the baby first - dur! :0D
