chicken Its generally tender and i keep getting tightenings again, they're not as bad as the other week, and i think they're mostly because I've been sat copying notes from loose paper into a proper linked book most of the afternoon in a slightly crappy postured position. I suspect my hips hurt because the baby has finally found the right place to put her head, or at least the hiccups feel like they're quite low down in my foof now :/ Keep an eye on that itching, and mention it to the midwife if it continues, I remember there being a thing about itching frowns

he keeps offering me a back rub, I'm so sore right now I might just give in for the back rub... penguin I definitely don't have the energy, he does all the work Blush

lol cinnamon he emptied it today Shock and when he asked what was for dinner my reply was 'anything I haven't cooked' so he got pie and chips out of the freezer with a fair amount of grumbling, especially when he realised he'd used up all the good chips last time and forgot to tell the lady who does the shopping I'm wondering if I can get away with not cooking again tomorrow, but suspect there's now only veg and herbs left in the freezer...

kis you still have an inny?! Shock how is that possible?! at least DH has moved rather than forcing you out...

berb yay on finishing work!! And the workshop sounds interesting, we've got nothing like that here, I found some classes but they were hundreds of pounds :/ I found some seriously odd natal hypnotherapy mp3's online, so I'm fairly convinced the Maggie Howell stuff is probably the least distracting, there was one where I'd let myself get distracted for just long enough to come back to the woman talking about running lemon juice down your throat and I was like Hmm and another with a woman who had reaaaaaaaaaaly long 's's

ChickenMe · 20/02/2015 22:40

kismac I too was hoping for a temporary outie but mine has just stretched flat! My baby keeps trying to push its way out too-freaky.
Boo yeah it's defo getting hard to get comfy these days isn't it. I love my exercise ball. Does it ache your foof when you walk? Mine does, the ball helps. OH is laughing cos I'm waddling. The idea of slumping on the sofa seems enticing but it's actually not comfortable, weirdly!
The itching stopped after eating a curry. ConfusedTrue. I had a urine test today anyhow and nothing amiss so just shit pregnancy stuff.

daholster · 20/02/2015 22:52

You lot make me chuckle Grin

Am home after a looooong day til 8.30am til 10pm and now on the setter with achey feet and a very achey painful bump indeed! So sore... I even left 10 mins early and nearly had a mini cry about feeling so sore as I limped my way slowly back to the car!!!

How about Rory Jasper? Also considering Rory Caspian. Wish I could have an Aramis or Artemis though... Dh says no, of course! Perhaps sensibly...

Ooo lauren I'd meet you in Morecambe ;) never done afternoon tea, ever. I think London is way too scary for me :/ never even been on a train, wow my life seems dull.

Very true on the Orange juice Ewby OJ doesn't agree with me so I've been drinking innocent kiwi smoothie with mine, anything high in vitamin c helps you absorb it.

daholster Rory jasper sounds lovely! Never heard the name caspian before, I misread it as casper and thought of the friendly ghost Blush my eyes must be too tired for reading.

DH is snoozing away next to me after we just DTD but it made me feel awake. Think I'll put my rainbow relaxation on, that always gets me off to sleep.
let us know how your hypnobirthing workshop goes! Sorry can't remember username now I'm typing and it's on previous page Blush

PenguinPoser · 21/02/2015 00:03

Chicken if the itching persists you need bloods doing to check for cholestasis, mine wouldn't have been diagnosed if I hadn't asked for bloods and made a fuss. I know I keep going on about it but can affect baby so it's worth knowing about. The itching is bad though, like I could happily sit and scratch all day all over despite the medication. My boobs are one of the worst places. However it can be normal to itch in pregnancy so doesn't mean there's something wrong necessarily! Especially if it stopped with a curry Smile

Hmm if I was offered a back rub I might give in too Boo!

I do like Rory Jasper daholster. Glad your long day is over, at least it's not overnight tonight.

I keep thinking we have everything for the baby then thinking we need more. Is a baby gym/playmat a useful thing to have or am I being excessive? Confused

TheBooMonster · 21/02/2015 06:01

Oh my god my face hurts so much I could cry thanks to this crappy cold!! Someone take my effing face off!!! Not only that but DD and I were up before CBeebies this morning Shock

BrixtonBunny · 21/02/2015 06:51

I've been awake for over an hour here too - another absolutely crap night's sleep combined with my ears feeling sore after lying on my sides...Hmm Can't wait to be able to sleep in varied positions again. Also had a dream I went into labour and my hospital bag wasn't finished yet - think that's a task for this weekend then!

Boo sorry you're feeling poorly, can you palm DD off on DH and go back to bed?

Oh so tired... Feel bad because dh worries about snoring lots and tries all sorts of different things, he knows that he needs to lose weight... He's only started snoring since he put on a few stone. He knows. Bit I couldn't help mentioning this morning that part of my tiredness is the fact that he snores so loudly and it disturbs me! Plus that needs improving before ds arrives. And I worry if I wear wear plugs I won't hear dd... And he doesn't always either. Mean wife... But I am so frustrated about the super loud snoring!!! Confused

daholster · 21/02/2015 07:50

Sorry for everyone missing sleep and having a painful face is horrible!!! It makes everything so much harder doesn't it!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/02/2015 07:57

Both mine loved the baby gym PenguinPoser, neither liked being on their tummies despite my efforts so when they got bored in bouncy chair they went in gym for a bit. Don't spend loads because it won't last long!

My bump aches but in a my abs have worked too hard today way not in a contractiony way. It's worse on days when I've been on my feet a lot and I agree lounging on the sofa isn't comfy! The only thing that makes me feel better at that point is going to bed and starting again the next day!

I still have an inny too but have s very deep belly button!

Can't imagine Dh ever leaving our bed, we don't have a spare bed apart from dss's when he's not here so that may be why. But he's very cuddly in bed so I think he'd miss me!

Off shopping with my mum today for some baby bits, but parkrun first and then babysitting tonight so will be knackered I think!!!!!

FiRaffe · 21/02/2015 08:25

Am I the only one who still loves lounging on the sofa? the getting up again is tough, but it's usually the most comfortable seat in the house. I did buy a ball yesterday though so we'll see how I get on with that - sure it'll be better for my posture!
My belly button doesn't look like it'll pop any time soon but I guess i'm a bit behind you other ladies!

AnniaFausta · 21/02/2015 08:29

Morning all! Had a good night's sleep after a rotten one the night before, leading to minor grumpy-toddler syndrome yesterday evening (le sigh), while DH has been the other way around... we have the decorator coming at 9am to start on the nursery so I really should jump in the shower.

Also - is anyone else finding themselves just... really thirsty? I keep on wanting water. I don't think it's gestational diabetes because my sugar test was clear at my appt on Tuesday, so it might just be the body insisting on lots of water to keep hydrated, but I can't seem to get enough of it at the moment.

Lauren82000 · 21/02/2015 08:38

Ugh got in from the party at 12.30 last night (or should I say this morning!) DD fell asleep by 10 and DH said I'll have one more beer, he felt mean having her sleep while the music was so loud. Then in the next breath he said he didn't want to be the first to leave!

Got mauled by everyone all night and breathed on which turned my stomach. Nothing worse than drunk people talking to you when your sober. BIL was the worst he got proper close and had his hands on my bump for over half an hour shouting at it to dance! Eventually DH came over and told him to get off. He's harmless but an insane drunk, I was actually sat with his girlfriend while he was mauling me. Then DD woke up and wanted cuddles so she climbed on and slept on my shoulder which made my back hurt and baby kicked her loads. Grin So four beers later we got to leave. Least DD got up later than usual, so now I'm playing ponies with her before I wake DH up to watch her so I can crawl back in bed.

Siarie · 21/02/2015 08:46

Penguin my baby gym/playmat arrived this week and I acyially think it's going to be a huge favourite of hers. It was quite expressive at £89 but is the Mamas and Papas magic one, plus it was a present one of the family bought it off our wish list (although we would have either way).

Obviously she hasn't used it use but I'll eat my words if she doesn't love it after trying it out myself. I think I'll be able to keep her entertained with that and my 4moms Mamaroo.

Siarie · 21/02/2015 08:49

Here's a YouTube review, if anyone's intetested.

PenguinPoser · 21/02/2015 09:18

Morning ladies. Sorry you're feeling awful Boo. Early morning wake up will not have helped! Sleep not great here either due to nose being blocked when I lie down. I'm more worried about my snoring daholster I never used to but since being pregnant and bunged up I'm paranoid about keeping DH awake! Not enough for us to sleep apart though, I never sleep as well when he isn't there for some reason. Just hope my nose goes back to normal after having baby!

Firaffe lounging on the sofa is one of the only places I can get comfortable at the moment. Midwife told me it was bad for baby's position (want it to stay put in head down!) but when I'm so sore actually moving it's hard not to lounge around a bit.

cinnamon I really admire the fact that you're still running! And thanks re the baby gym - I'm going to look for one today. Have to say I adore the one you have Siarie - my friend has the same one and it is really lovely and nice music. Not sure I can justify the cost at the moment though, still trying to save up to cover my mat leave.

Annia I haven't especially been more thirsty but have been trying to drink more - was told at breast feeding class the other day that even antenatally we should be drinking way extra to prepare body for feeding. I'm finding it difficult as I just need to pee every 30 minutes Hmm

Lauren agree with ugh at being at a party with everyone else being drunk! Hope you get back to bed for a bit more sleep.

smogsville · 21/02/2015 09:21

Daholster I'm a big Narnia fan but I wonder if Caspian might be a stretch too far tbh? Artemis and Aramis are conjuring up thoughts of Greek gods and aftershave. Love Rory though! We have a friend called Rory, we all call him Rors.

What is rainbow relaxation?

When my DH needed to lose a bit of weight (he could still do with shifting a stone) I told him I hadn't married him so he could die early on me and suggested it was really selfish of him not to get with the programme. That seemed to motivate him although he does still buy kettle chips when he's in waitrose without me. I put him on the 5:2 diet and he seems to find it doable as only has to concentrate on not being greedy two days a week.

I am massively taking the piss and have let DD get mum up and do her bfast. Still in bed with tea!

Penguin yes get a gym. DD used to fall asleep on hers. We used to laugh that it can't have been v stimulating LOL. I was a Tomy one about fifty quid I think but that was in 2011. We just got it at our local toy shop when she was a few wks old.

Reminds me though it's worth buying a rechargeable battery kit for when baby here as you'll start needing them for everything.

Yeah Boo go back to bed. Just go don't ask.

I've had a few low down aches yday and this morning which is new. Hence lying in. A bit period painy but not contractions (I don't think!).

FiRaffe I still love the sofa.

DH is whatsapping me photos the view from the restaurant, the owl in the tree outside my bedroom window. I bloody love owls, quite cross not to be there now.

Lauren you're a good woman. I would have refused to go. From now on I am saying a firm no to anything that even remotely resembles effort as I reckon I need to build up my goodwill reserves for when baby here. So - invitation to Sunday lunch in a restaurant half an hour's drive away with easy parking yes please, sat night bday party south of the river no thanks.

kismac · 21/02/2015 09:23

Sorry to those not sleeping well. I've slept much better since I've started sleeping sitting up. Might be worth a try. I've also been sitting on my exercise ball in the evenings rather than the sofa and I now don't grunt as much when I move. Ha ha.

Boo, maybe try a warm face cloth to soothe your face.
Im actually starting to enjoy being pregnant. The vomiting seems to have stopped finally and Im sleeping well, 32 weeks must be my sweet spot. Ha ha.

Skipping yoga this morning as I've got a busy weekend and I was knackered after it last week. DH is taking of for a surprise outing, all I know is it involves food. Going bowling with the family tomorrow which sounded like a great idea at the time but I might just have to watch instead. Hmmm.

Lauren82000 · 21/02/2015 09:34

Well it was a family party but I should know better by now the inlaws are party animals and get drunk really fast and are loud and brash. Love them all to pieces but not what you need when you feel like an angry bear which is what this pregnancy has done to me.

I am now back in bed which is lovely but DD followed me upstairs which means I'll get pestered to play every 5 mins. She is currently doing a poo and giving me a full running commentary Confused no rest for the wicked eh?

kismac · 21/02/2015 09:36

Play gym we got a Bright Stars Sensory Safari. Think we got it in Mothercare in the sale.

Lauren82000 · 21/02/2015 09:45

Think my play gym is a bright stars one. It's a red/orange and black one. Not totally convinced all the dangly toys are in the bag. Might end up getting a new one if I can't find them.

ChickenMe · 21/02/2015 09:55

I agree, I also cannot wait to have my body back and be able to sleep on my front Brixton.

Thanks Penguin I did think of your posts about OC but it's gone today! You poor thing to be itching like that all the time; did they give you s/t for the itching?

I love slumping Fi but I either get stuck, get acid reflux or need a pee!! I love that ball. Hope you enjoy yours. I find it very comfortable.
Worst thing today was having to get up at 7 to go to work and sitting on a rail replacement bus. The vibrating engine is hell on the bladder! I find im too tired to want to drive long distances though.

Saw consultant yest and they said if baby's head not engaged (ie hasn't been able to pass the fibroid) by 36w scan then they will "discuss" C Section. She seems adamant it will engage although it hasnt yet, spose its a bit early. Waiting game. #rant.

I struggle slumping on the sofa. But if I'm knitting I tend to sit cross legged with my back straight and supported by loads of cushions. I find if I sort of lie on my side my pelvis aches on that side with the pressure of a baby head/bum.

Had to do swimming lesson on my own this morning what a faff. DH went golfing and nicked all my pound coins so can't use the lockers to put our stuff in. Had to cart coats and bags to the side of the pool to drop her off. Least it's mcdonalds for lunch if she does well and listens to the teacher. I'm starving!

FiRaffe · 21/02/2015 12:36

That's not good Lauren! We've started a pound coin pot for the hospital car park (and photo machine for the scan pics) so we have always got coins to raid but have to remember to top it up!
Off to watch our local team play rugby this afternoon - hope the rain holds off!
