Morning all, well escaped without going up the hospital last night although my mum insisted i phoned. Bump feels a bit heavier today but no more spotting so will just take it easy. Have got the whole family checking up on me litteraly every hour or so while dh is at work. This could get annoying .

MGLP - Poor you, i know how it feel's when the chores need doing, the kids are playing up and DP is not being as helpful as he could, hmmm pretty much like my house is now! I hope things get better for you especially with your painfull bits aswell.

I have 4 children under 5 running riot and trashing the place after i spent hours cleaning it this moring, The gardener is here burning all the garen waste, the sewage man is due anytime to empy the very full cess pit, we have a 13 week old puppy running around like a loon. I think im going crazy

On the subject of midwifes i would like to nominate my community midwife i had with ds for an award as she was fantastic! She came to my house everyday or the hospital depending where i was as i was so ill to check on me and she cancelled her holiday so she could be on duty to deliver ds when i was induced. She was so nice and kind and really made my last pregnancy bareable.

The one i have this time is nice not quite as helpfull but none the less she's friendly and kind although her answer for everything is ask the consultant. (Who is useless)

Someone asked about ds's brain scan, he has had it done and we are seeing the pediatrician on Friday after i have seen my consultant, it's going to be a busy busy day! But they gave me no indication of what they found if anything, although im really hoping they get to the bottom of his constant infections and illness.

I think dp has given up on sex usually if he hinted and i said no he would carry on asking but last night he did and i said 'well if you can think of a comfortable position then ok' he said 'ok don't worry about it and went to sleep.'
I think he's finally given up on me which is a shame i kind of enjoy the chase!

Catty - nope, not a prayer of anything that costs any more than about 5p at the moment, we are really tight at the moment, what isn't being spent on the baby and christmas is being saved for the dreadful month of January, DH's company really f*cks us over in January, not only will we be waiting for an extra two weeks for the wages, but he will be down by two weeks overtime, if the baby is on time or there abouts, so if we don't get prepared for it now, we won't even have enough to cover the bills! Also our car will be three years old in Jan, so needs a big huge and expensive service and the first MOT. else we won't be able to drive it. So every penny is being counted for at the moment!

Debz, I know it doesn't help, but you really will know the difference between a BH and a contraction, even if you haven't had a single BH before.

Mygirl, Sorry you are feeling bad, and I would give your DH a big kick up the jacksie if I were you, I know they get it wrong sometimes, but don't let him get away with it!! And no MIL didn't ring, but we went to see her on Saturday (DS was asking to go) and she didn't mention it at all, or even the fact that I am pregnant, not even a quick how are you? Or I bet you're fed up now! Nothing at all was mentioned about any of it, even though I was sat there having contractions, OK so I wasn't sat there making mooing noises or anything, but DH could tell by the look on my face and said 'is it a contraction?' I said yes, and his mum just carried on moaning about how much her head hurt - she was hung over...

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 12:20

Also forgot to add! (I will shut up after this i promise!)

Does anyone who's having contractions/braxton hicks find certain things set them off or make them stronger? I have found this last couple of days that when i do my pelvic floor excersises and when i go to the toilet it makes them start or get stronger?

schmizaj · 24/10/2006 12:22

Wow it's been about a week or so since I've checked in and the babies have started arriving!! Congratulations to the new parents and thanks for letting us know so quickly.

Given up work last week which was quite emotional, wasn't feasible to carry on any longer but have been in a little bit of denial about my life changing so much. So now it's the cleaning, washing, shopping, organising etc which isn't quite as fun....

Also been told by consultant that my pelvic pain was in fact SPD. Boo, bit worried about what delivery and recovery will be like now. Will have to check out whether there has been other threads on this already. Going to see Osteopath tomorrow to see if they can give me some advice etc. Daytime I can control but nightime I can't move and everytime I do I am clicking and cluncking away...

Also stepping up the fight about website who I ordered some baby stuff from who haven't delivered after 7 weeks but taken the money!! No phone number to call just email address which i've emailed 6 times with varying degrees of anger and never heard back from. Anyone dealt with this before? Going to call consumer advice line. Never, NEVER, order from site without published phone number or address. I did get some stuff out of these people and it is a big website.

Sorry it's a moan today but lovely to check in with the gals. Keep them babies coming!!!

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 12:24

I am glad you haven't got much longer to wait for DS's results Charlee, I am sure that will help you relax a bit more

I forgot to say, it is 11 days until I hit the 37 weeks mark and can finally have sex, but it has already been two weeks since we last did it!! It was the Tuesday night before I started with the strong contractions on the Friday, because on Wednesday I had what I thought at the time was his, ahem, contribution come out, but now I am wondering if it was the start of my show... LMAO I am so sorry, I have said it before, but please remind me never ever ever to turn up to a meet up anywhere!! LOL

Debz99 · 24/10/2006 12:26

I know it must be hard to explain a pain ... I know that it's going to the most painful experience I will ever encounter. But wondered what the early contractions / pains were like, i'm getting a few niggles in my back and side this morning but nothing I can't handle, feels like stabbing pain lasting 10 seconds then goes away then come back within a few mins has completely eased off for a bit now.

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 12:31

Charlee, with this irritable uterus thing, everytime I have a wee I get at least one contraction, it will sometimes set them off properly though, also if I have been sat down for a while and I stand up they start, or if I have been stood up for a while and I sit down they start. The consultant said the baby can set it off with movements, she basically said to just rest and relax as much as poss. I am literally getting DS up and ready and getting him to school (although I'm not even doing that now it is half term) and then taking him, up to bed at night. I can't hoover, bend up and down to empty/load the dishwasher, carry a load of washing down stairs, stretch over to make DS's bed properly, ours isn't so bad because I can get to each side of it, but DS's is up against the wall so I would have to stretch over to put his duvet straight. All of this means that I am managing the contractions, if I had to carry on and get on with it, I don't think they would ever stop!

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 12:31

Debz - I don;t know about anyone else but my contractions are very noticable! My whole bump tightens untill it feel's like it wont get any harder, its painfull in my back, bump and right into my bottom causing pressure 'down below'.

I used to get niggles with DS which at the time are what i thought were Braxton Hicks but after having the contractions this time i realise they were not.

Sorry that's not to descriptive but like you say it's hard to describe a pain!

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 12:36

schmizaj - What website was it?

Debz, bearing in mind I was induced so I don't know if it starts differently for a natural start, but, I started with what first felt like strong period pain in my back, it was a constant ache, that over about 2 hours turned into a stop/start type pain that by then had changed from my back to very very very low down in my belly. The ones I have now are always very low down in my belly, starts off feeling very tight, quickly turns to feeling heavy and hurts like mad, then wears off again quite slowly, my belly goes rock hard in a matter of 3-4 seconds but it might take a good 20-30 seconds for it to go soft again after.

Debz99 · 24/10/2006 12:48

Thanks NJ and Charlee

Its returned again going for a walk at lunchtime so will hopefully kill or cure if you get my drift LOL

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 12:53

Well, if it starts don't forget to go back to the office to let us know one way or the other!!

Where's Stacey? I don't think she has been back since she said the contractions had worn off, I wonder if she has been too busy giving birth?!

Afternoon everyone. Sorry to hear the painful contractions are still causing some of you pain. Great to hear that some babies have started arriving though! I thought I was in labour on Sunday night but just turned out to be a bad stomach and an incredible bout of chronic indigestion. Gave me quite a scare though - am 37 weeks from this Thurs though so home birth is still looking likely. Finish work next Thurs, cant wait an so tired and not sleeping well. Had a hynobirthing session though and the relaxation tape she made me is just bliss, and really helped....We moved at the weekend so think I was just a bit stressed out, plus we were living in the country and now on a busy main road!

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 13:59

Just got my weekly update email i have 27 days to go before im actually due! It doesn't seem that long untill you think of it as 4 weeks then it sounds an age!!

Debz99 · 24/10/2006 14:00

Well I'm back at the office and no pains so far, feeling very uncomfortable the pressure when I stand up is quite bad but the pain has worn off !

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 14:07

I hate the pressure 'down below' it does litterally feel like the baby is actually there ready to pop out like carrying a bowling ball in your knickers!

I keep getting a very strong sudden urge to go to the toilet (number 2) and then i go stand up and think uh oh need to go again but nothing ever comes of it it scares me becuase that's what my sister had shortly beofore she delivered her second baby on the bathroom floor!

Tinasan · 24/10/2006 14:10

Congratulations to the ladies who have given birth! I'm not far behind you - my waters broke yesterday and are still dribbling out along with a show. I've to go into hospital tomorrow at 7am if my labour hasn't started in earnest - I hope it does before then. I'm having quite intense period-type pain really low down in my bump, but it's not long or regular yet - is this what early contractions feel like?

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 14:10

Congrats Tinsan sounds to me like your in early labour! Happy labouring

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 14:20

Good luck Tinasan Keep us updated as and when you can please. I don't know about anyone else but it is only baby news getting me through the day now!! LOL Makes it all seem a bit better to remember that there will be a baby at the end of it!

Debz99 · 24/10/2006 14:20

Someone I know who recently had a LO who didn't actually know she was in labour she just spent a heck of a long time backwards and forwards to the loo and when she was finally in agony she had her baby in 20 mins ! lucky cow !

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 14:23

Debz, when my mum had my sister, we were round my grans house having one of those big sunday roasts with all the family, mum always did the cooking, she put the potatoes in the oven, told my gran she was nipping up to the loo, came down stairs 10 minutes later holding my sister!! It was her fifth though, probably didn't take much to get her out!!! LMAO!! And she carried on cooking dinner not because she had to or anything, she just felt that good that she wanted to finish 'her job' LOL

Charleesunnysunsun · 24/10/2006 14:25

My sister's pretty much fall out now! After the bathroom floor one the next was deliverd in the lift in the hospital becuase it was to late to get any further. She doesn't seem to have contractions or anything she just drops them! I wish i were the same

NatalieJane · 24/10/2006 14:27

LMAO Charlee, nomination for the quote of the month

"My sister's pretty much fall out now"
