Well done, detective, you have done the right thing if he can't be arsed with the little things then how do you trust him over the biggies? Wish I could give you a massive big hug. Your baby is going to be a dream, zen-like baby, I've decided. Xxx

belle I'd say boy too.

Bellejessleo · 13/12/2014 18:27

Thanks everyone..hubby thinks boy too :-) we will see! sun I will remember nye and look for your post!

cuphat · 13/12/2014 19:44

Thanks everyone. Has anyone else managed to post on ingender yet? Some of the posters really seem to know their stuff. With boys, 'stacking' can be a clue, as well as angle (a boy nub can still rise if your scan is before 13 weeks so angle can be misleading).

Sorry you're going through this detective. I agree with everyone else, you do have to do what is best for you and the children.

TheDetective · 13/12/2014 19:56

Thank you for the support :) He's not bothered to contact me at all since. Says all I need to know really.

I managed to post mine on ingender cuphat but only by doing it on the laptop. Phone wouldn't post at all.

All the guesses for mine said boy! So looks like I'm having a third boy!

And Hexy that made me giggle. I bloody hope you are right!

StopEatingThatMud · 13/12/2014 19:59

Glad you're sounding positive about your decision detective and I hope you have some good RL support and hugs around you.

DD had reflux and I feel your fear (probably to a lesser extent) regarding sleep too. I saw the perinatal mental health nurse recently about my anxiety issues following the m/c and going back over my recent history she said if you can survive a baby with reflux, there's not much you can't get through which made me smile Smile

Today I admitted defeat and let MIL take DD for the day so I could rest whilst DP was at work, bloody marvellous woman that she is - my parents sadly wouldn't think to offer. Not out of any unkindness, it just genuinely wouldn't occur to them I don't think. I slept on the sofa 10.30-4 ignoring all housework and Christmas shopping I had planned. I think it's safe to say I've not been this ill in years!

jazzyjenbo · 13/12/2014 20:34

Evening all, yay to more great scans and genders! Laptop is dead so can't see the scans from today but will charge and check before bed!

I couldnt get a post on ingender but posted on that other site i linked to yesterday.. Only had 2 guesses. I'm getting impatient. Was going to start a thread on the FB group so we can log guesses!

Great to hear more scan news Smile

Although sorry your H has continued to be a prize arse, Detective. Sounds like you're best shot of him, though it's easy for me to say.

I'm fairly certain I'm getting some movement now. I felt dd bang on 17 weeks and I'm 14+5 now so I guess that's about right to start feeling number 2.

Not impressed, though, that my tummy button has started poking out already!! Def got a bit of a bump now. I bought a nursing dress from seraphine to wear to this wedding in January. I thought it would be the best way of catering for unflatteringly small bump that wouldn't fit a proper maternity dress. It arrived today and I'm pleased with it in theory but I just look fat Hmm DH has comfortingly pointed out that I'll be three weeks further in then so might look more proper pg and less just like a lump!

Went to my exercise class today for the first time in about a month and my sports bra hardly fits! Rib cage and boobs have definitely grown, then!

Newgirl33 · 14/12/2014 00:16

Hi all,

Hope you're all well.

I decided to tell my manager and colleagues that I am pregnant yesterday. No one suspected and everyone happy for me so all good there. Smile

Noticed this morning that I had been tagged in a post on Facebook by a colleague congratulating me and obviously indicating that I'm pregnant. Not v. happy as we haven't announced it on there as we are only telling people when we see them face to face! I've now changed my settings. Am I overreacting by being upset about it? Maybe I should have said something about not posting on Facebook...

Tranquilitybaby · 14/12/2014 07:07

Social media at it's best new girl, you poor thing. People just don't think. I saw a big group of friends last night so told them and beforehand my aunt and uncles plus my cousins and their families. Everyone was totally shocked and thrilled for us. Smile

I then text several close friends to tell them, mostly because I was worried it might get out on facebook. Wanted to wait and tell them face to face, but didn't want to risk it. I've also changed my settings so no one can post on my wall at the moment.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 14/12/2014 08:27

Yep, it's amazing how Facebook et al can get in the way of such things. I've still got a few people I want to tell personally as well.

My father in law was nearly in tears. Smile I feel I may have put my brother-in-law s girlfriend's nose out of place as they are due in April. I didn't even know they were in the house otherwise I'd have told them all differently. Oh well.

Detective - only just read about your brave decision. Must have been a real idiot to lose you and the kids. You've done what's right for you and I hope all goes well now.

So exciting to see more gender confirmations rolling in! Congratulations. We'll be finding out, if we can, at our 20 week scan in Jan. My mum's busted out her knitting needles for the first time in 20 years. She's currently fretting as she's lost a stitch but doesn't know where. I just look blankly as I can barely remember how to cast on! Maybe a refresher after Christmas will be in order. Grin

Anyway, enough rambling from me. I need a cup of something hot and my cat wants breakfast. I stood on her last night by accident so she's wary of me this morning. I'm hoping I can make peace with her via food. BlushXmas Grin

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/12/2014 08:32

Ah newgirl, you're not overreacting. Why don't people think?! I feel it's obvious that kind of news doesn't go on fb until it's obvious that the "owner" of said news has outed it. Grr on your behalf.

Last time I remember one of my cousins just posted a Grin on my wall, and several other family members "liked" it. That was quite cool because I knew what they were getting at but no-one else did!

Newgirl33 · 14/12/2014 09:16

Thanks to those who replied. The post went on before 8am yesterday and I removed it within half an hour. So hopefully no one or not many people saw it! Dreading if someone now asks me why they haven't been told! I believe that everything doesn't need to be broadcasted on Facebook. What happened to other forms of communication?

BingoBonkers · 14/12/2014 09:34

People I've told I've made clear that not everyone knows and we won't be announcing on FB and please if they could do the same. One friend I've been trying to see for ages but had no luck so may have to resort to text but I know she will tell loads of people and a few of those Wil post on my wall so need to try and manage that somehow! Not sure how! At times I really hate FB. Also I tried to buy writing paper yesterday in town and can you believe that it's impossible to buy from a shop. Sad sign of the times that everything is electronic these days.

Newgirl33 · 14/12/2014 09:45

Bingo - you can change your settings so that only you can post on your wall and there is an option to approve all tags before they are posted.

I've seen writing paper in The Works. There's not much variety in shops.

I'm approaching week 14 and my skinny jeans are getting a bit tight! Whilst I'm not showing yet I think my waist is definitely filling out.

Picked up an Emma's diary pack from Boots yesterday - wasn't much in there. Hoping the bounty pack will be better if I can find somewhere that has stock!

ChatEnOeuf · 14/12/2014 09:51

We told everyone who knew before FB did that they were to keep it quiet on social media. Thankfully they have all respected that and we were able to do a nice announcement with scan pic. Mostly people were expecting it I think, DD is 3 and we've had two miscarriages this year, one resulting in us missing a friend's wedding so they were all hoping for/expecting a pregnancy announcement sometime :)

Chookford · 14/12/2014 10:23

cup congrats on your baby boy!

belle just to be different i'm guessing girl!

orville wow that lack of sleep must be debilitating! Enjoy your last flight, then some serious arse sleep!!

detective after everything you have been through I think you are awesome! If your H doesn't realise what he had lost then he is just proving how much of a selfish twat he is... You will cope amazingly on your own and this bubba will be like an angel! Grin

I'm 17wks today and seriously huge! I look about 6 months gone! Blush

jazzyjenbo · 14/12/2014 10:54

Morning all, 16 weeks today and now got a little pickle! Not feeling much movement after the early burst at 11/12 weeks. Was out on friday night and am def starting to look pregnant but i'm not ready to take a pic to the 'bump' yet as to me its still looking like a big gut!
4 week countdown to nxt scan and finding out... I know its only early but i'm getting myself stressed thinking about names and am constantly trawling the baby name threads looking for inspiration but so far i can't find anything i would actually name my child.. Theres loads of nice names just not the one! Anyone else like this?

OP posts:
htf2 · 14/12/2014 11:11

I really feel we are getting exciting now! I am waiting til the 20wk scan to find out but sooo looking forward to it! We told my BIL & SIL yesterday that we were planning to find out and not tell people and they were so indignant- all 'you can't seriously do that!!' Was quite funny, and they made a fair point that when we are home for another SILs wedding in March and DH has had a few beers it will all be over.... probably true :P
Such a shame these other family members who get touchy that someone else dares have a baby! My SIL is due in feb and we both think it is really exciting that there will be other babies around! I would love for one of my siblings to announce at the same time and am hoping for later children they will get cousins the same age. (my siblings are younger and not even close though)
detective it's good that you have made a decision, although sorry it had to be made and hope you are doing well, things will turn out for the best.

people on the baby names threads do you just randomly browse or are some amazing? I think I am nearly decided although would like to explore a few more ideas. and convince DH of course :P

PregnantAndEngaged · 14/12/2014 11:16

Hey guys, I am new to the thread, thought I'd drop in as my first baby is due on 19th June :) I had my scan on 11th December and it was the cutest and most amazing thing I have ever seen! It was kicking and stretching out, it reached it's arm out and flexed it's hand (which was adorable!) and it kept squirming as the lady was moving the around scanning me, hehe!

I want to see the baby again! :D Feel really happy :)

Htf2
I just go on and click on any new thread and read through the names.. There seems to be an alot of the same names suggested... Most not to my taste but occasionally a thread will come up with something different (thats what i'm after).. I also search the listing for e.g sibling of ...... Or if i hear a name i might search that and then read the opinions... I used to like ophelia until some on pointed out 'i feel ya'
Welcome pregnant x

Welcome to the thread pregnant

Oh sunbathing if love to delete my fb account and start again I really would! Lol

htf2 · 14/12/2014 11:54

jazzy my DH is the best at thinking of all the terrible ways people could make fun of names, I did suggest ophelia once and he replied instantly with 'i feel ya' ! I like Ida and he has made lots of silly suggestions about it ('I'da rather not...) but I am ignoring him :)

Orville82 · 14/12/2014 13:20

FINISHED!!! Last ever flight done and now a wonderful afternoon of well earned (in my opinion) jim jams, sofa, TV and dozing. Living the dream!

11 days leave now consisting of telling the rest of our family & friends and finally work. Unfortunately this means missing a New Year trip to Mauritius but baby belly swells up like a ballon on long haul so don't think s/he likes it. Plus it's not like I can take full advantage of the all inclusive or Gala dinner. Stupid sober holiday season!

Life is so good right now Grin
And sleep.....zzzzzzz
