Morning all

Forty so sorry to hear your news, hope you are feeling ok.

Ems I totally understand your scanxiety! I remember my friend saying to me last time that I won’t sleep the night before my scan, and it’s totally true! Only 6 more sleeps to mine….

Fingers crossed for all the scans today.

I’m going to have to dig out the ‘baby on board’ badge I think. I commute into London and this morning I thought I was going to keel over because the train was delayed and I was squished in a carriage and it was so hot! Started to feel sick, then faint. If I had a badge people would have taken pity on me! Luckily a man got off so I could sit down before I fainted/puked!

Have you all had your flu jabs? I have got mine tomorrow but I’m not quite 12 weeks yet. Does it matter?? I can’t remember!

cuphat · 09/12/2014 10:20

Depends who you ask, Jackie. NHS site states you can have it at any time but my midwife said she wouldn't risk it before 12 weeks! I doubt a few days would make a difference though. I had it early last time and all was fine. I've noticed that some other countries advise waiting till 12 weeks though.

ememsmum · 09/12/2014 10:24

I had my flu jab at 7 weeks as that was when they were dolling them out at work.

Chookford · 09/12/2014 10:30

Good luck for all the scans today... we have quite a few! Will look forward to seeing lots of lovely scan pics later!

teeniedeenie34 · 09/12/2014 10:34

Jackie my midwife told me that you can get the flu jab at any time during pregnancy. I have my flu jab on Friday and my scan is next Tuesday, so like you, a few days beforehand.

Forty am so sorry to hear about your dog. Hugs to you Flowers x

sparkle17 · 09/12/2014 10:58

I had my flu jab a few weeks ago. I think its fine.

I've been sick in the work loos today. Thought i might manage to avoid being sick at work as the mornings and evenings have been my worst times. Thankfully nobody else was in at the time so think i got away with it. I'm 12+2......sickness should really be stopping soon.....right? Agghh

AnythingNotEverything · 09/12/2014 11:08

I had my flu jab after my booking appointment at 8 weeks. Midwife didn't advise me to wait.

In other news - big sale on maternity clothes at Mothercare. Free delivery to a store (although this can be quite slow in my experience!).

I had my flu jab at about 6/7 weeks because the GP jumped on me with it - didn't realise at the time that some people delayed having it. I've had positive scans since then so all seems fine, and I've not had a cold or flu which is great.

On a completely different note I was procrastinating at work the other day and decided to work out how long it would be till everyone in the thread was in the second trimester as you do. If you take going into week 14 as the 2nd trimester (I know some people call week 13, or 13+3 as the start, but I thought let's be conservative about the dates) then the whole thread will be in the second trimester around the 30th December! Definitely something to celebrate at new year!

newbie6 · 09/12/2014 11:25

Thanks everyone for your congrats and so lovely seeing everyone's scan news. Hope all our babies continue to flourish and for those of us who are struggling, that things start to improve soon. So sorry to hear about your dog forty, they are like members of the family so totally understandable. Xxx

Emz1989 · 09/12/2014 11:29

Hello all, really pleased to be able to attach a photo of my bouncing bean! Very wriggly and bouncy, sonographer took a while to do all her measurements because bean wouldn't get into the right position!! Measured 11+5 so edd is June 25th. Thanks for your kind words and wishes this morning!

Lovely pic Emz - many congrats (and very glam nails too!)

Just to warn you that your name is very visible on the scan when you click on the pic. You might be fine with that but I thought I'd let you know.

Jackiebrambles · 09/12/2014 11:52

Yay Emz that's wonderful! Bet you are so relieved after your worrying.

Tranquilitybaby · 09/12/2014 12:33

Congrats on the great scan Emz! Brilliant.

Thanks Chookford, just want to know now. Tempted to phone them to see if they have results in (as bingo has hers and they were done in the same day) but I know I have to wait!

Good luck scan peropd x

So sorry for you forty heartbreaking xx

Tranquilitybaby · 09/12/2014 12:34

My chest and back of my throat feels horrible today, I can taste the acid it's so high. Taken some gaviscon but it's not helping. Anyone else suffering?

Bellejessleo · 09/12/2014 13:16

emz congrats that's a lovely clear pic, from my est date we are due date buddies! Scan on fri so will find out for sure. tranquility I'm the same with the acid, I've had to start taking Zantac as the gaviscon was making me throw up. It's helping a bit I think. Although I still get it but not as bad as it was.
forty I'm so sorry about your dog Flowers

I've been getting a bit of heartburn, tranq, but not as bad as yours. I had it terribly from mid way through last time, even water made it flare up and I was mainlining gaviscon. Not looking forward to that, although it was the only thing I really struggled with so I suppose if that's all again it won't be so bad. They say it means your baby will have a full head of hair, but mine didn't!

Is it possible to have braxton hicks at 14 weeks?!! I got them from about 5 months last time quite regularly (at least twice a day) and when I woke up this morning my uterus was like a rock. DH says he thinks I'm expecting a turtle or some other shelled animal!! It had gone after I'd rolled over so that's the only explanation I can think of. It felt very strange!

I think I am beginning to feel better! Less constantly nauseous and I was quite productive this morning! Am having a rest now but fingers crossed I'll feel more like my normal self again soon Smile

JennyOfOldstones · 09/12/2014 13:22

Congrats emz lovely pic! That little foot!

Sorry about your news forty Flowers

tranquility I also have indigestion, thought this wasn't meant to happen until much later? God help us then!

ots · 09/12/2014 13:26

So I've got a date for my scan next Tuesday at 11 to check the length of my cervix. I'm really nervous as I really want to avoid having a stitch put in :(
Been really sick again today, which I think is due to nerves as been feeling fine for a week or so.

Glad your scan went well Emz. I think you have to report your post and HQ will delete it for you. I put mine on here without removing my name too, it doesn't really bother me though.

ots · 09/12/2014 13:26

So sorry to hear about your dog forty x

Chookford · 09/12/2014 13:40
