Thanks to all who wished me well for my scan. Everything was fine and I had bloods taken. My EDD is now 16/6.

They couldn't do the nuchal scan so I have to go back when 15 weeks for a blood test.

Having had the scan everything seems so much more real now!

Kyz · 03/12/2014 22:40

Evening everyone :)

Today has been busy, DS isn't well alongside me not being well and fell down the stairs twice this morning! He's ok, but I took him to the doctors and it looks like he has the start of an ear infection so that would explain the loss of balance, as he's usually fine with stairs!

mummymog that's brilliant :)

I would let your MW know smiling just to be on the safe side :) I mean it can't hurt to mention it, right?

very exciting sunbathing NYE isn't that far away :D

bless you phryn i hate the vivid dreams, ugh. Been ok so far but I can still remember some of the ones I had when pregnant with DS

forty hopefully it'll get easier for you and some of the other ladies that are really struggling - big hugs - you're growing an entire other person, it's ok to feel washed out and emotional :)

sunbathing they're good results :)

glad your scan went well deutschy :) congratulations on the impending wedding too, hope you have a lovely day!

glad you've finally got a date Det

glad your scan went well newgirl

junebug23 · 03/12/2014 22:48

thanks Trying, that sounds very similar, fingers crossed it won't last!

Night everyone, hope you escape the vivid dreams!

forty my stats are 1:265. My age has an impact. So I was 1:90 even before my scan. Scan showed that no nasal bone currently present however the five other soft markers are all present which then moved my figures up. I've had the Harmony and awaiting the results next Friday. Lots of lovely MNers have reassured me as did the Dr who did the scan that it's not uncommon for the nasal bone to be delayed in growth and can appear at 20weeks. Needless to say it's constantly on my mind. DH says I'm behaving like I've already received confirmation that I am that one when we the risk factor is currently considered to be low risk even if it is by 15. Wish next week would hurry up. I look pregnant now and have done for quite awhile. I'm probably worrying about nothing but I don't know whether to start telling people we are pregnant or not. Tbh if they look close enough it's there for all to see. Nine days til we find out. Fingers crossed it's a morning phone call and good news.

Sorry for my ramblings and woe is me. Again.

Osney · 04/12/2014 02:50

Pain got much worse and out of hours doctor came out. He spoke to hospital and I'm going in 8am tomorrow morning - they think it's one of my fibroids that is causing the pain...at least i just had a big dose of codeine, so hopefully will get some sleep. He assures me baby is fine.

Osney · 04/12/2014 05:09

Thats the codeine worn off, whimpering trying not to wake DH. Send me love ladies!

junebug23 · 04/12/2014 07:14

Hope you're ok Osney, 8am is fast approaching!

Zaccheryquack · 04/12/2014 07:48

Hope all ok this morning Osney

ots · 04/12/2014 08:07

Hope you're ok osney.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 04/12/2014 08:31

Osney - Hope docs have been and all is okay!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 04/12/2014 08:32

Misread that as usual. Hope you got to hospital on time and all is well.

twinkles11 · 04/12/2014 09:09

marking my place on new thread :) have been mega busy so not been on for a week! so much to catch up on. next scan is 6th jan but have booked a private scan for 20th dec to fi d out gender (im just too impatient to find out pink or blue!)
hope everyone is ok x

fortywinx · 04/12/2014 09:30

Osney hope they've been able to help with the pain and all is well with baba. Flowers

Ah Bingo, I feel for you. At least your stats went up above the threshold rather than dropping.
I have no idea about nasal bone, I assume it was there as the sonographer didn't mention anything! Looking back at my sheet and doing a bit of Googling (dangerous I know), I think my lowered stat is from my bloods.
I had a low paap-a score and high hcg which can be soft markers I think. Going to mention the low paap-a to midwife when I see her on the 31st, as it can also be an indicator of low birth weight. Hopefully she'll tell me to calm the eff down and there's nothing wrong lol!
Fingers crossed for you that you get good news next week. I'm sure it will all be fine!

Chookford · 04/12/2014 09:38

osney really sorry you are suffering and hope hospital can get it sorted for you.

bingo completely understand your fear I was the same and getting that call I was driving so was praying I wouldn't crash the car! I'm sure everything is just fine and soon you can relax and enjoy telling the world!

teeniedeenie34 · 04/12/2014 09:38

Hope all goes ok this morning Osney, let us know how you get on.

Kyz Hope you and DS are feeling a bit better today.

Have been keeping up with you ladies most days but not too much happening here at the very back of the bus. I had my booking apt last week and the midwife was lovely. My first scan date also came through a few days later, so I have that on 16th Dec which I think is the same as you Sparkle? 10+2 today and am definitely starting to notice a more rounded stomach. It's not too bad in the morning but by night time it's quite obvious, well to me it is Smile.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 04/12/2014 09:40

Everyone seems to be talking about serious things so I feel a bit trivial and silly for noticing this fact this morning....I booked some tickets to go see Bill Bailey next year without really thinking. Then had to go in to hubs and tell him its highly likely we'd need a babysitter. That was a hard dose of realisation...no more random nights out after June. Shock

I have my scan next week so I'll make sure I pay attention to when they say things like "nasal bones" etc.

sparkle17 · 04/12/2014 10:03

It is indeed teenie glad i have some company at the back of the bus.

Hope you are ok osney.

Phryn · 04/12/2014 11:05

Trying I know how you feel - I go to a lot of gigs and it was very weird as I had to make the decision not to buy Foo Fighter's tickets for the middle of June next year! I'll either have only just have given birth or will be overdue and due to drop any moment. Had to make the sensible decision and not buy this time around. Thankfully I've seem them lots before and they so no signs of stopping touring so I'm sure I'll be there again in the future - but it will take more planning!

Osney hope the hospital can offer some help and reassurance and that the baby is fine.

croon979 · 04/12/2014 11:22

hello all, I have had a week of feeling completely knackered, sore back and a bit off colour so haven't been online much. However, I ahve woken up today a completely different person, I feel great, loads of energy, no back ache...long may it continue. I am praying that I have hit the "glowing" stage!

Hello new June mums to be and congratulations to those with good scan results. Best of luck Osney.

re downs results, thanks JackieBrambles and Sunbathing, you have reassured me as I had nothing to compare it to. Sunbathing, your results look really good too.

I have dceided that 20 weeks is too long to wait to find out the gender and to see the baby again, so I am going to travel to UK in January for a little sales shopping and have a private scan with Harmony test at the same time. Mum is going to come with me for a little girls trip. Really excited!

Quick question, I am now 13+2 - does that mean I am now in my second trimester? Can't find a definitive answer on that, sources range from 12-14 weeks. Just interested as it will feel like achieving a mini-milestone if i have made it to second tri! May have to celebrate with...ooh a ginger beer or something, rock and roll!

Jackiebrambles · 04/12/2014 12:07

Morning all!

Oh Bingo I do feel your pain re the nasal bone. I had exactly the same thing last time. The nasal bone was absent but as my risk was better than 1/250 (I wish I could remember the exact odds) no other tests were offered to me (now my hospital does Harmony but I didn’t even know about it then!). So my only choice was to worry until my 20 week scan. The sonographer was pretty reassuring, she said that it happened several times a day (ie the nasal bone being absent) and that it really wasn't a concern.

I was so naïve I didn’t even know about private scanning!

I really worried about it/googled like mad. In the end I did tell people about my pregnancy but it was a concern in the back of my mind until the 20 week scan.

I’m feeling pretty good today, but I do seem to get my nausea towards the end of the day now.

Jackiebrambles · 04/12/2014 12:13

Is mayo on the 'avoid' NHS list now?

I don't think Hellmans etc contains raw egg. I guess it would only be homemade mayo?

Jackiebrambles · 04/12/2014 12:14

Bah, sorry about that, wrong thread talking about what you can eat in pregnancy! < goes to re-post >

jazzyjenbo · 04/12/2014 13:36

Afternoon all...
You girls have been busy with lots of scan dates finally arriving and 2 positive 12wk scans yesterday... Wiggly, i hope yours goes well today.
Sorry some of you are having new worries re the risk factors and pains.
I class 2nd trimester from 13 weeks.. Some say 12 some 14 so i go for the middle!

Shrek was amazing yesterday and we went out for 3 course meal after.. Was abit naughty and had some pate but i figure once in 9 mths is a treat.

How are you feeling Osney?

bingo hang in there, we've nearly got through a week of waiting, only one more to go. I'm with you every step of the way. X

I am ridiculously thirsty all the time, anyone else had this?
