Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 16th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 33rd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Also Viroids looooooooook at the new Pink Lining nursery ranges: www.pinklining.com/uk/baby-nursery Bump is getting a dragon and nappy stacker and musical mobile and sleeping bags in the 'one starry night' range regardless of their flavour because it's so damned cute... shame the quilt set is daylight robbery...

freshstart4us · 25/11/2014 15:51

Boo I've never heard of Xmas Eve Hampers or North Pole Breakfast... I clearly don't read enough MN... Wink (tbh I only have time to hang out with you guys a couple of hours a week!)

I also have DDs bday on Friday and party on Saturday before Christmas really hits my radar. I'm never that organised anyway, haven't sent paper cards back to Australia since DD arrived, just can't seem to get myself together before the post deadline these days! As previously stated, I love Christmas, but do think it's a little over-hyped and commercialised; it is just one day after all!!! DD (and DH and DSS for that matter) gets clothes, toys, books, DVDs, etc on a weekly basis through the year, as and when the mood takes me, for no particular reason, and I don't see any point in swamping her one day of the year! Or am I missing something?

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 16:25

Yeah I don't get the Christmas Eve thing. Presents on Christmas Day. Stocking.

No sacks.

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 16:31

Very sweet boo! Adorable :)

I'm not looking at anything until I get all clear from scan. But I know exactly what my nursery is going to look like Grin

teejayem · 25/11/2014 16:39

oh boo I love the dragon themed bits!! I made a secret pinterest board when I first found out I was pregnant and have been adding anything cute I especially liked as I went along with a view to buy a few bits once I got past my scan.

There are over 200 items on the board. Whoops. Blush

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 16:51

Our (rented) spare room is tiny so I'm not going to have a lot of space to play with. I'd love my own house again. How many of you live in rented?

teejayem · 25/11/2014 16:57

We rent la - and have done since I was 17 so the last 14 odd years. I had a job that moved me around a lot so I'm on my 12th address in that time!! I like the flexibility of being able to up sticks and have someone come and fix appliances when they go wrong (like our oven has just gone kaput, and I know it will be resolved inside this week). renting with three cats is a bit of a mare tho....

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 16:57

I've been in bed all afternoon. I was sent home from work coz apparently I looked awful and obviously needed to rest. Wasn't going to object, I was barely able to hold my head up.

Bought fish for tea tonight and now can't think of anything worse. Do you think dh will understand if I ask for Chinese instead?

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 16:59

Yeah we bought our house in Scotland then a year later I got job down south. It's been nothing but a headache renting it out but we finally sold it last month.

I do miss having space though. Houses round here are very small. Buggy will have to live in the lounge :(

Pisghetti · 25/11/2014 17:12

I finally bought earlier this year after renting for the last 16 years. We didn't want to TTC while I was still renting - largely as the house suffered a lot with damp which several remedial works over the years had not cured. Houses here are cheap so it made sense to buy.

TheBooMonster · 25/11/2014 17:24

Ooh tee a pinterest board of baby things! There is a use for pinterest after all!

We have our own place but spent 5 years in rented accommodation before I fell pregnant with Alex and we moved in with DH's parents (babies and houses full of students don't mix particularly well) we were very lucky to get help from DH's parents, if it weren't for them then we'd still be about 5 years off being able to even think about owning our own home because my credit score causes banks to have an awkward moment where they're not sure whether to laugh or run away...

FurryScoob · 25/11/2014 17:25

Congratulations on the birth of Stanley la & your unnamed turd baby dulcet

I've bought DD a gruffalo top & legging set for Xmas that will fit her by march, I'm a scrooge to compared to that thread but I want DD to grow up a appreciate the whole of christmas not just one day! if I wasn't so knackered my tree would be going up on Saturday

Flabby belly was normal for me minion it's really bad now the bumps empty!

Minion · 25/11/2014 17:30

Ooh with any luck I won't go well over then scoobs.. Yeah right.
I have however got my appetite back.!
After 8 long months is good to enjoy my dinner again!
I think I'm actually going to die from this bad back.. Ish.
Good dammed no ibuprofen.. Boooo

Christmas Eve presents are a tradition in our house - my dad's mate used to come around on Christmas Eve dressed as Santa and give us our new PJs and a jigsaw puzzle. He'd congratulate us on being so good, and told us if we went to bed nicely he would maybe sneak back later with some more presents!

Our tree is going up next week - very excited Grin

La, we're renting at the moment and renting out our owned house back home. It's a pain in the ass. We're responsible for all the maintenance in both properties. Can't wait to get back into our house and have it all nice and straightforward again!

FurryScoob · 25/11/2014 17:54

Wrote out a mini version of my birth story last night, can't believe it's nearly a week ago!

Monday: high BP at midwife appointment for 3rd visit running. Sent off to hospital, doctor decided to induce me Tuesday morning.
Tuesday: Waters break 1am, can't do induction as waters gone so sent home to encourage contractions to start, BP Returned to normal. 7.40pm humongous contractions start, head to hospital about midnight for pain relief but contractions stop on arrival to hospital.
Wednesday: contractions on & off all day, never getting more than 6mins appart. 6pm sent to labour ward to have synoxytocin drip. Drip in 7.15pm baby out 11.14pm! Did the whole thing on gas & air, really wanted an epidural but was 8cm dialated by the time the midwife had a look & it was too late. Angry Skyla was born at 41 weeks & 4 days.

All the pain was worth it in the end!

Hop aboard the good ship JS Grads for it's sweet 16th pregnancy party. Don your party hats, grab a bouncy ball and quaff copious amounts of raspberry leaf to celebrate our coming of age!

Our DCs ask every year for a sausage and banana/orange from the big red man. They really enjoy eating them in bed christmas morning! Sion Corn (santa in welsh) doesn't bring a lot with him, last year I think eldest had a mouse in a matchbox, middle had dinosaur stamps to paint with and something else and youngest had a book.
They do tend to get a lot from family, the only children in the family so far, and they have great-grandparents as well.
furry she is adorable.

Fleurchamp · 25/11/2014 18:34

We own la but it's a tiny little terraced house. DH is panicking and alternating between contacting builders about an extension and bring glued to rightmove Grin

Unfortunately we live in an expensive area and to buy a bigger place nearby would require a huge mortgage. I would rather stay where we are and have money to spare.

Our pram will also need to live in the living room but it's not for ever.

I may also have a secret Pinterest board

Fleurchamp · 25/11/2014 18:37

Aww congrats furry

I have found a trove of OBEM on channel 4 OD. Do I? Never seen one Shock

RPopz · 25/11/2014 18:53

Wow, chatty ladies!!

We also own a tiny terrace... Not sure how shits gonna go down with a dog, two cats and a baby.... I'm all about the storage! Wink

Hope you're feeling better La - Chinese is a first trimester necessity I'm afraid, dont let Mr La tell you otherwise Wink

Am I actually the only person on the planet who hasn't seen sodding Frozen!? Angry Wtaf is all the fuss about? Heard one of next door's kids singing the song through the wall, v loudly and tunelessly, while I was in the bath last night. Bless her.

OBEM is good in a soap opera type way fleur - But there's lots of drama and laid on the back labours and purple pushing and the like... Not a v good advert for active birth. Still bloody addictive though Wink

Do I need to to find this Christmas Fred? Will it give me the rage?! I do love buying Christmas pressies though...

RPopz · 25/11/2014 18:54

I have a secret pintrest board too... Wink Though tbh no-one else I know is on pintrest so I prob would've been safe!!

wilmabedrock · 25/11/2014 19:11

I haven't seen Frozen Popz. Well have seen about 20 mins of it. Which I'm quite proud of considering I am always surrounded by children. I hate the bloody song though.

I will check out this Christmas thread later. We got zillions of presents when we were kids. Mostly small stuff but still far too much really. I am aiming not to pass this tradition on but my family do go a bit overboard. I told my mum just to give money for MiniWil this year to avoid more toys. However from what you have said about the thread, I don't think we got anywhere near that amount.

God I managed to do a Dulcet this evening thank god. Was almost at the point of not being able to walk Shock .

We own a house. Bought it a few months before MiniWil was born. It should have enough space in theory but I'm a bit of a hoarder so it needs a clear out.

Fuck got to go out. Would rather go to bed.

laurenamium · 25/11/2014 19:12

I rent la, but I rent off my parents so have pretty much free run of what I do to the house. Ill be looking to move next year though as this is only a 2 bedroom bungalow and I would like the DC to have their own room, especially if I end up with one of each! I keep trying to talk my mum and step dad into building me an extension Grin

laurenamium · 25/11/2014 19:27

Boo indie gets a Christmas Eve hamper "from the elf to say thank you" ..we do elf on the shelf here too throughout December after I read on MN Grin. In it is some Christmas pyjamas, hot chocolate, a Christmas DVD, a carrot for Rudolph and pies for Santa and a bed time Christmas book. So all things I would get anyway really but just shoved in a box. It arrives just after lunch on Christmas Eve so there's enough time for us to watch the film and drink our hot chocolate!

ZylaB · 25/11/2014 20:53

furry she's lovely!

I'm feeling more organised for Christmas now :) just ordered a couple online, already have DH's main present, and am going shopping for the rest tomorrow (but I know what I want to get so should be fairly straight forward!). We ordered our meat from the local farm shop a couple of weekends ago so just veg and wrapping and crackers etc to sort :)

Leela5 · 25/11/2014 21:12

Awww furry she's gorgeous!
Good story - apart from lack of pain relief Shock

I watched Frozen. It was crap. I love Disney but found it really dull! Poor Mr La sat through it and hated it.

We had a lovely big flat in Scotland with tonnes of space but here the houses are tiny. We are hoping to move back once I've gone back to work and recouped a bit of money after the baby, hopefully 2 years from now.

I've never done Christmas Eve stuff but yours all sounds fun!

Just watched Elf and cried at the end then packed for tomorrow. I thought it must be 10pm but it's only 9! Oh my god!
