Morning everyone!

Wow, lots of posting yesterday. Welcome to everyone that's new on here. I'm still waiting to feel genuine movements from the little dot but hopeful it'll start soon.

DH and I stumbled upon a handy baby shop on Saturday that had all sorts - travel systems, cots, high chairs, changing mats, buggies... Was really good to see some of the stuff in real life (!) rather than in a catalogue or online. It wasn't a massive place either so not too daunting an experience for either of us!

Anyone else a bit achy? When I was walking to my bus stop this morning I had this achy pain again. Hard to locate - sort of very top of my bottom near base of my spine. It's not desperately uncomfy so I'm not really inclined to do anything about it. Just wondered if anyone else has the same?

Have a great week. I'm working right up til Christmas Eve but sure it'll be here soon enough.

cuphat · 15/12/2014 11:16

Great news Winnie.

I was feeling flutters quite early on but I can't feel anything now as my placenta has grown and it is anterior (again Sad ). An anterior placenta caused me a lot of worry last time as I hardly felt anything and there was no pattern at all, even late on. I hope it's not as bad this time.

Peaky1 · 15/12/2014 14:45

Hi all. Great to be hearing all the good news and exciting stories!

Someone asked what first kicks feel like. For me, with DS1, it felt like a trump brewing (you know, when it bubbles up) but in the lower abdomen so at the front. Everyone told me it would be a beautiful flutter...nope...farty feeling for me!! Xmas Blush

Royalsteph · 15/12/2014 15:54

it's a boy. healthy and very active

Chookford · 15/12/2014 16:48

royal congrats on your boy! Lovely news

bradders85 · 15/12/2014 17:36

Congrats on your news royal - getting quite a few boys now it seems! dotty I have had some very low back pain for about 2 weeks, sort of low down almost top of my bottom too but just on the left side. Also on the top inside of my left leg!! I've just been using a hot water at night to try and ease it but can definately feel it when I get up and throughout the day Hmm

SmileyScooby · 15/12/2014 17:40

Welcome to all the newcomers!
I'm feeling so uncomfortable today, my roll of bloat/fat that is above belly button bump/bloat/fat has been so uncomfortable. Anyone else suffering with a sort of midriff ache/pain/general uncomfortableness?
Am now 19w and still haven't felt anything (well nothing that I think meets the descriptions ive read online of flutters etc) but dunno if because was a size 18 pre preg and therefore bit bigger in the middle anyway if I won't feel anything yet anyway...16 days until scan can't wait!! But at same time nervous until then as not feeling anything etc.
Anyway, in a way hope no one else has had the pains ive had today as hasn't made for a great day! But keep thinking nearly Christmas holidays 4 days to go!!!

piglet81 · 15/12/2014 17:56

Smiley and Dotty, I've had a really bloaty and achy day too - you're not alone! Generally feeling a bit rubbish today and was really emotional yesterday for no apparent reason (poor husband got cried on a bit). Just tired and run down, I think. Feel a bit anxious about my scan on Friday and am just keeping fingers crossed for good news.

Congratulations to those who've had their scans - lovely to hear about all the little wrigglers! All being well we are hoping to find out the sex on Friday too. Smile

Scottishgal78 · 15/12/2014 18:25

How pregnant does everyone look? I went for lunch with friends on Sunday. Hadn't seen them in a while and they were all shocked at how I didn't look pregnant at 17 weeks. Worrying me now!

mumxof3x · 15/12/2014 19:01

Not pregnant looking at all really scottish, I can tell im looking different but my family who dont know and my friends also havnt even noticed yet 18wks here. Dont worry about it I was tiny through all of my pregnancys and one was a 9ib little chubby (which I know its not that big but it is for me as I had a bmi of 17 at. Booking on that pregnancy) enjoy been small for now, we are all different after all :)

Welcome to the newcomers and congratulations

Congrats steph on your boy, and anyone else whos found out since iv not checked in.

Thats fab news winne :)

I will also join the achey bump and back club, feels like its really straining some days.

Scottishgal78 · 15/12/2014 19:19

Evening Ladies!

So nice to hear your results winnie you must be v. Relieved!

Yep, lots of aches and twinges here d0t -all part and parcel I think Xmas Grin

Sorry to hear that cuphat -must be extra worrying when you can detect movement easily. Fingers crossed it is to so bad this time x

The only way I can sometimes tell the difference between wind and flutters Peaky is if one ends in a quiet "Pfft" at the end! You are right-they are very similar!

Congratulations on your Baby Boy Steph - great news - glad everything went well at the scan

I think size and/or where baby is lying can affect how early movement can be felt. I'm sure everything is fine though and you will feel bubba very soon-19 weeks is still early for some.

It is so understandable to feel nervous about your scanner Friday piglet -just try and focus on thinking that you are going to see your little cutie pie soon!

I'm 20+1 and in certain tight tops, I have a small bump and in other tops, am certain you wouldn't be able to tell I am pregnant so don't worry Scottish!

Oh, a birthday to look forward to xmumx - you must be so excited!

KittyVonCatsington · 15/12/2014 19:35

X-post! Yay for your little boy Tori!! I hope you are letting yourself enjoy your pregnancy more and more as time goes on amd getting less and less scared. Sounds like things are progressing really well Xmas Grin

Chookford · 15/12/2014 19:38

I'm 17+1 and am huge! I look about 6months gone! But I did with my dd too and slowed down at the end so I did even out in the end! It doesn't help being 5"2 I look like a weeble when I'm pg!!

tori congrats on your baby boy!!! Great news

cuphat · 15/12/2014 19:38

Thanks kitty.

Congratulations Steph and Tori on your boys!

SmileyScooby · 15/12/2014 19:46

Reassuring to hear not the only one feeling achy and bloaty!
piglet ive also been emotional barely takes anything to set me off being tearful!
Scottish I don't think I look pregnant just bloated/fat rolls bit bigger than before which means work trousers are tight.

I have avoided wearing tight clothing at work and going for baggy tops - for comfort mainly - but think will need to go shopping in January sales for new work trousers as if bump/bloat area grows plus christmas (!!) will definitely need some.

Congrats Tori on your boy news!!

mumxof3x · 15/12/2014 20:27

Yay congrats tori :)

Scottishgal78 · 15/12/2014 21:21

Congratulations on the boys! Thanks for all the reassurance guys. I definitely share the back ache and stretchy feelings so something's definitely going on!

Turquoisetamborine · 16/12/2014 06:30

winnie so glad your results came back good news. You can relax now.

I wouldn't worry about bump sizes anyone. I think it depends on your stomach muscles and how you carry the baby.

I'm 18+5 and fairly big, there's no mistaking I'm pregnant which is making me a bit worried about work as I do a public facing role with some pretty unpredictable customers. So I'm trying to hide it as much as I can at work.

mumxof3x · 16/12/2014 09:20

Thats exactly true turquoise, my midwifes always said I carry towards, my back and muscles are quite strong. There is so many factors in bump sizes, also height is one of them too apparantly. Im fairly average height of 5'6.

Hope everyones ok. Do we have any scans today?

Kyz · 16/12/2014 20:04

evening all! looks like i have alot to catch up on from the weekend! Got my scan on Thursday, so nerves are creeping in but i'm sure it'll all be ok!

Do we have a tally of how many blue/pink/yellow we have?

Royalsteph · 16/12/2014 20:21

can someone link to the stats Please? Smile

LinaDee · 16/12/2014 21:15

Evening everyone,

Can anyone remember whether I should be taking a urine sample to my 20 wk scan appointment or is it just for appointments with the midwife?

Scottishgal78 · 16/12/2014 21:55

Hi Lina - I was told not for scans only midwife appt.
