Get well soon tits. Finding out gender on dec 29th but enjoying guessing! Was just wondering from anyone's personal experience whether the theory about when you have sex in relation to ovulation has been accurate for anyone? Really don't mind if I'm having a boy or girl and after 8 months of trying am just ecstatic to be pregnant!
Apparently sex one day before or on ovulation increases the likelihood of a boy and sex two to four days before ovulation increases the likelihood of a girl. Apparently due to the physiology of the sperm. Anyway, just curious if anyone found this to be true!

KittyVonCatsington · 12/12/2014 18:58

Get better soon tits!

Blondie I DTD on the day of positive OPK and 2 days after and am having a baby girl. Not sure if that helps with the theory or not! Blush

Sunshine I'm getting quite fond of combing my hairy belly Wink

Chookford · 12/12/2014 19:00

kitty grin] do you have a belly comb?!

Chookford · 12/12/2014 19:00

Oops Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 12/12/2014 19:05

Ha ha Chook -no Smile but when I put stretch mark oil on after a shower, the hairs do stick up quite a bit and I have to pat down again Grin

mumxof3x · 12/12/2014 19:24

Blondie, I only DtD cycle day 10 according to dating scan at NHS I concieved 6 days later, private scan was 4 days later (my dates too) so either way a while after DTD...and im having a boy, so not true for me.

Chookford · 12/12/2014 19:25

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/12/2014 19:55

Haha!! kitty that made me laugh. Grin

Kyz · 12/12/2014 21:59

Evening ladies :)

bless you tits hope you're feeling better soon!

Buying stuff : i've not even written a list yet, but i'm not thinking of buying stuff until xmas is done with!

brilliant three - to start, what do you recommend for a total newbie, for a newborn? Ideally I don't want to have to buy a new sling every few months as baby grows, I don't mind buying one for the early stages and one for when baby is a bit bigger but I don't want to be constantly upgrading, so to speak

hope your dd is better soon fluffeh

lol kitty Grin

I've finally stopped being sick for more than an hour although I am slightly miffed that DP asked me to get up with DS3 this morning Hmm he got met with a rather blunt "ER NO"

I know he's been up all night doing various work bits on the computer but that's not my fault, I've been up vomiting imps too much saliva goes down my throat so in my mind, I win the right to rest today.

I've not attempted drinking or eating yet, I'm slightly scared to trigger it all again tbh.

Sadly my house looks like a bomb went off so I do need to do some minimal tidying today.

Baby is still wriggling away, oblivious though which is a good thing.

Roll on Wednesday for my scan. :)

Oh my goodness -what a rotten night for you, Tits huge hug coming your way. It's good you can feel Baby move which is reassuring and well done for telling DH to do one! Xmas Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/12/2014 07:57

I think he's just being grumpy because he's tired.

I muttered about the house being a tip whilst getting DS's ivs ready this morning so he's offended now because he spent 45 mins loading the dishwasher tiding the kitchen sides (they don't look all the tidied)

I'm not sure if my standards are too high when it comes to tidying or not but thus place is pretty grim right now.

Washing piled high in places, toys spread far and wide, bags of rubbish waiting to go out, bed need changing and making etc.
li think it might be 'one of those days ' Confused

Hope you feel better soon Tits, I'm pedantic about the tidiness of the house too so I know what you mean.

I can't bear it being a mess. H does follow my instructions to keep it tidy.

He dropped the bombshell on me last night after working away all week that he's asked his mother to come to my mam's on Christmas Day and she's accepted. This is not good. This will be along with his 31 yr old brother who still lives with her and is very weird. He holds a grudge against one of my brothers about something that happened 11 yrs ago, he's just odd, odd, odd.

My MIL is an utter narcissist who H can't stand the company of. We normally see her every two months and he goes in such a mood after every time but she has had cancer this year so that's why he's felt guilty and asked her to come.

Not looking forward to Christmas Day now.

Hello ladies! I'm a bit rubbish at keeping up on here. So lovely to hear about the next round of scans! I have my 16 week scan today eek!! Can't wait to find out if baby is a girl or boy. Had MW appt this week too and heard heartbeat lovely and strong. I'm seeing her again at 20 weeks which is lovely because being my 2nd baby shouldn't are another MW until 28 weeks. I can't remember who else is with one-2-one midwives but I am so pleased that I decided to go with them.

Jazzy I'm right at the back too, due 26th. I wonder when the actual last baby will be born, could be mid June!

CostaLotta · 13/12/2014 08:32

Ooh three and kyz I'm hoping to use sling a lot this time too. Had a stretchy wrap with DS but he wasn't keen and I didn't really try to keep using it. I've bought a ring sling to use this time as I thought that would be good for a spring/summer newborn. What do you think three? I've looked at the close caboo too which looks good but I worry baby will be too warm in the layers of fabric if it's a warm day.

Scottishgal78 · 13/12/2014 09:01

Hi all just checking in. Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Tits. Hope you're through the worst!

Had my 16w appt yesterday. Very uneventful. Didn't listen to hb just took my blood pressure and checked my wee. Bit of an anti-climax!

Chookford · 13/12/2014 09:36

tits hope you start to feel better as the day goes on...

turquoise oh no.... Sorry to hear you are now dreading Xmas day! That sucks! Sad

Threesoundslikealot · 13/12/2014 09:48

Aah. I wrote an epic sling post on my phone and then lost it. I'll rewrite it when on my laptop!

Tits, hope today does bring recovery.

Turqoise, sorry about the Christmas nightmare.

leanne963 · 13/12/2014 12:40

Hiya everyone!!! I am new to this thread!! Funnily enough i was thinking this morning how hairy my belly was looking and the first thing I see on the last page of this thread is 'hairy belly' so I feel I am in the right place!!

I'm due on the 24th of May. Suffered a MC in June so I have been a worrying mess these past 3 months.

Found out yesterday (through impatience and a private scan) that I am pregnant with a girl! So pleased!!

Hope you are all having successful and happy pregnancies. Please give me some tips on not being an overly paranoid and pessimistic pregnant lady as I would like to actually enjoy this experience Wink

KittyVonCatsington · 13/12/2014 13:07

Hi Leanne and welcome! Congratulations on your successful scan and hairy belly Xmas Grin There are lots of us here who have been through losses so understand the fear that seems to be cranked up a few notches that wasn't there before-the first trimester is the worst! Let yourself feel excited more and more and it will start to come more naturally.

leanne963 · 13/12/2014 13:09

Thanks kitty I'm a natural worrier and it's hard but I know that the odds are in my favour so I am trying to look forward to the future! Being a mum is all I have ever wanted and I can't wait to start the (tiring) adventure Smile

Royalsteph · 13/12/2014 13:12

welcome leanne Smile

cuphat · 13/12/2014 16:19

Just a quick update: as predicted, it's a boy! Nub theory was right! Very happy. Went out and bought the first outfit, as we did for DD on the day we found out she was a girl.

bradders85 · 13/12/2014 16:48

Congrats cuphat you must be delighted :)
I have been given a HUGE bag of baby clothes from my mum's friend daughter who had twins not so long ago......great as they are all neutral so I really don't think I will need to buy any clothes....very lucky!! Small baby clothes are so cute!!

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/12/2014 17:25

Welcome leanne and congrats!

Congrats on your baby boy cuphat lovely news. Grin

Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend, I'm now not back in until Thursday.......bliss.

That's great you've managed to get some clothes 'bradders* I love the neutral colours which is good as we will be buying lots of as we're not finding out the sex.

Sorry you didn't get to listen to the heartbeat scottish such a shame.

Hope your feeling brighter soon tits and turquoise I hope your Christmas Day is better than what your expecting currently!
