teaandbiscuits no midwife appointment here, I don't live in the uk anymore so here I'm with an obgyn, midwives are only optional (and not enough to go around for everyone so probably won't get one for the antenatal care)

lotsoftoast · 25/08/2014 07:11

Morning all - another Monday means another week closer to second tri! DS didn't sleep well last night but we are gathering energy for playgroup slowly!

Morning all Smile

Hating all these bloody dreams, they're so vivid/real and upsetting! Woke up this morning and had text my bf saying "please can we just talk and sort this out?" While I was sleeping! Needless to say he was a little confused ha ha

bradderswantsababy · 25/08/2014 08:29

Wow lots to catch up on place marked x

persepolis123 · 25/08/2014 10:56

Morning all. What are your plans for today? Miserable weather here so just seeing family.

I'm all booked in. The midwife has been round this morning and will now refer me for a scan. Should get it in the post soon. 10 weeks today and starting to get a bit excited now!

MooMaid · 25/08/2014 11:13

Morning all - no plans for today, thinking it's going to be a bit of a boring day as I'm on my own!

Scan is tomorrow and I'm really nervous - definitely more nervous than excited. I'm scared that it won't be OK yet of the tiny number of people that know, they all say it'll be fine and not to worry..... Just need to see it's all OK and to not read anything about MMC etc - I know that when you look online you only tend to see the 'bad' things because people don't constantly say "it's still OK" (if that makes sense) but I'm trying not to worry and it's not working Confused

M27J my dreams are SO vivid and feel constant - and it seems like I have so many in one night. I was SO angry with my husband when I woke up and took a minute to realise I wasn't really angry with him it was just the dream!!!

M27J5M · 25/08/2014 11:29

Glad your all booked in now perse Smile

Moo - wee all panic before our scan but like every1 else I'm sure it'll be fine Smile but it's still worrying, I was the same before reassurance scan and still a bit cautious till I get 12 wk scan next week! Glad I'm not the only 1 having crazy dreams

Mrsw123 · 25/08/2014 11:57

Moo- my scan is tomorrow too and I'm terrified! So worried that there's something wrong, or that I've imagined being pregnant! I know it's daft!

MooMaid · 25/08/2014 12:31

Mrsw that's exactly what I'm like - what happens if I'm not even pregnant LOL. No period, morning sickness, extreme tiredness, tummy puffing out, boobs getting bigger.... but I still think how do you know as the test was so long ago.

It's so long to wait and just feeling apprehensive - glad I'm not the only one!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow Smile

kittenmamma · 25/08/2014 13:25

Perse I'm ten weeks today too :) still no booking appt though :( I can't believe I was so late finding out. What does everyone think about the fact that I tested negative my first missed period? I must have been pregnant I think because otherwise I wouldn't have missed it, but I had about 4 neg tests up to two weeks late.
My plans today are to full on laze. I'm off for three days now and don't plan to get dressed the whole time! Got a friend coming for a movie later. She doesn't know so I had to fend off her offers of going out for drinks.
I had a really terrible dream where I used my cats head to bash in a spider, he went all wobbily, was sick and started bleeding out of his ears!! I'm still very disturbed by it.

junkfoodaddict · 25/08/2014 15:43

10 weeks today too!
I went to my local garden centre's family open day. It was crap. A bouncy slide, an aeroplane ride, circus skills which was simply toys anyone could get, 3 birds of prey, 3 tractors, go-karts with a foul-mouth moody man and an inflatable derby - that was it!
He's slept most of the afternoon whilst at home. It is so dreary and miserable that it's making me sleepy.

DuggiWontSleep · 25/08/2014 18:51

Hi ladies, I have a question which I was hoping somebody could help me with. I have my 12 week scan tomorrow but have caught a sickness bug from my lil 3 year old-should I cancel it still go ahead?!

lotsoftoast · 25/08/2014 19:10

When were you last sick? I'd phone and rearrange - you don't really want to make a pile of pregnant women unwell. Just stress you need one asap as you are already 12 weeks

OP posts:
PickledPorcupine · 25/08/2014 20:13

I think rearrange too. 48 hours clear would be ideal before being too close to anyone vulnerable.

DuggiWontSleep · 25/08/2014 20:17

Thank you for your reply lotsoftoast. Last threw up this morning. Yes, I was thinking the same, the last thing I'd want is to put others at risk. Will ring first thing to rearrange.

DuggiWontSleep · 25/08/2014 20:18

Thank you too PickledPorcupine!

M27J5M · 25/08/2014 20:33

Oh my I'm a grumpy git tonight! Hmm

Twittwooo · 25/08/2014 21:12

I'm also 10 weeks today - seems a few of us are at the same stage! Feeling very tired, but when I'm busy at work I feel less sick so that's a positive!

lotsoftoast · 26/08/2014 06:49

Morning all. DS seems determined to not let me sleep at the minute - so bloody tiring!

Anyone have scans today?

OP posts:
ZebraZeebra · 26/08/2014 08:07

lotsoftoast that made me laugh about slowly gathering energy to go to a playgroup. That's exactly how it is here. 12 weeks tomorrow. Scan next week. So tired. Poor you not getting much sleep though :( I got nine hours last night but have still woken up just dog tired.

I had the WORST sex dream. THE WORST. I won't go into details but it was sweaty and smelly and not in a good way. Why would my brain do that to me??

mariomadmum · 26/08/2014 08:10

every morning for about a week now I have been waking up with a blocked stuffy nose. goes away around lunch time but its weird.

ToAvoidConversation · 26/08/2014 08:15

Hi everyone. I'm 9w4 and been lurking for a while.

Currently signed off work with hyperemesis and so jealous of all those who are managing days out and no sickness Shock. Every day has been a duvet day for me for weeks and not in a good way.

How easy do people find they can get in touch with their midwives? I've been calling mine since last Wednesday and not had a reply to any of the messages I've left? Is that the norm?

lotsoftoast · 26/08/2014 08:23

Hello toavoid You poor thing have hg, horrible stuff.

mw's seem desperately hard to get hold of - are they based in your gp surgery?

mario it's the increased blood flow that gives you a stuffy nose, v common but no one tells you about it!

OP posts:
lotsoftoast · 26/08/2014 08:24

zebra you know you HAVE to tell us now don't you?!

We should be at peep group today but skiving that in favour of a trip to our local coffee shop for a second breakfast for both of us!

OP posts:
fourmonthstogo · 26/08/2014 08:28

Last night was my night to join the bad dreams club, woke up crying after a very strange dream about exercise classes! Hi toavoid, welcome and sorry to hear how much you are suffering. I haven't tried to call my midwife but don't forget she probably wasn't working over the weekend or yesterday.
