So sorry Safra Thanks

I finally have my booking in appointment for next Thursday & I think I'll be 12 weeks , I'm really rubbish with remembering dates etc Blush

I'm really nervous though as I don't really bother with Doctors etc unless it's a last resort so it's going to be fun Hmm

Sickness has gone for now
I just have horrid back ache & my bloody ribs are killing me Confused

Safra72 · 23/08/2014 00:00

Thanks all for your kind messages, it means a lot even though we've never actually met...... Isn't that strange? :)

Leaving topic now but may be brave in a few months and pop in to see how you are all doing - best of luck to you all. Xxx

Lifeisabeach · 23/08/2014 07:26

So sorry to hear Safra's sad news :-(

Pinksun12 · 23/08/2014 07:45

I had to leave the July ante natal thread after my mc and it meant so much knowing that I was in other people's thoughts, probably because hardly anyone in RL knew that I was pregnant.
Big hugs to you safra and I hope you get lots of support.

PickledPorcupine · 23/08/2014 08:09

Oh safra I'm so sorry xx

KeeperOfTheZoo · 23/08/2014 09:05

Safra there are no words, I'm so sorry Thanks

ZebraZeebra · 23/08/2014 09:15

Oh safra I'm so sorry. It's so bloody cruel :( Take care of yourself xxx

Posted in FB but the booking in appointment was pretty positive yesterday. I still feel a long way off trusting them and it's made me realise I'm going into this pregnancy with a lot of worries...last time I was ALL ABOUT the natural birth and believed in it fiercely. Now I'm so scared I'm a fake. How stupid is that? Anyway it's made realise I need to be active in this - get reading the same books, the same stories, talking to other women who had really positive natural labours..I just need to get a handle on it.

My scan is not until I'm 13 weeks - it was going to be at 5pm for two hours. 5pm! I have a child, I cannot be away 5-7pm. Luckily someone had cancelled just before I rang up and now booked in for 9.45 same day.

Welcome twittwoo :D

fourmonthstogo · 23/08/2014 09:33

I just wanted to send my thoughts and Flowers to safra if she pops back on, as someone else said there really are no words but we are thinking of you.

teaandbiscuitsforme · 23/08/2014 09:50

So sorry safra, take good care of yourself.

theonewiththenoisychild · 23/08/2014 10:03

so sorry safra Sad

Lifeisabeach · 23/08/2014 10:29

Going to a surprise 40th birthday party for a work colleague tonight. Not sure how I'll stay awake past 10pm and need some excuses for not drinking. Thought I could say I've had an awful headache on and off for the past couple of days and have dosed up on painkillers. It's partly true as I did have a bad headache, although it's better today. Do you think that would work?

m33r · 23/08/2014 12:51

After saying how 'normal' I felt, last night I cried at dinner table because I didn't have the energy to lift the food to my mouth. Poor husband was Confused trying to do much needed housework today but it's so hard to do anything!

lotsoftoast · 23/08/2014 12:53

I think you would get away with that life

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish m - I can't wait till we are all feeling normal again!

Safra so sorry thinking off you.

Had a scan yesterday and finally have a due date 6/3 :-)

Really tired today went to a kettle bell class this morning and DP has just sent me for a lie down as am so tired

coastergirl · 23/08/2014 13:43

Physical symptoms still minimal here but anxiety just seems to be spiralling. Finding myself thinking if I can't take care of myself how on earth am I supposed to take care of a baby? Feel like such an idiot for getting into this.

kittenmamma · 23/08/2014 14:13

Tired here too, doing 10 hour late shifts in wetherspoons is a nightmare. Really uncomfortable too with my extra padding round the middle. Boss doesn't seem to realise how tired I am but has told me I won't be on as many late shifts and apparently I've to wait till I'm about 4/5 months until I can get shorter shifts :( feeling like she's not really taking me seriously. Also everyone is getting annoyed that I won't lift anything. Which is a lot of the job.

HollyBen · 23/08/2014 14:25

So sorry safra Take care x

I was going to say I am feeling more or less normal at 12+5 albeit very tired. Then realised I have been feeling increasingly breathless over the last few days. I have had a cold though so this could be the reason

ZebraZeebra · 23/08/2014 14:35

kittenmamma do you feel like you can't lift things or that you're scared to? Our babies are very robust and well cushioned in our wombs. It's really only towards the third trimester when hormones relax our ligaments that heavy lifting becomes problematic. Certainly the adage in terms of exercise would apply here - you can do what you were able to do pre-pregnancy. If it reassures you, I continued with Olympic lifting in my previous pregnancy and am still using a 14kg kettle bell now.

Tiredness is another issue entirely but I just wanted to reassure you that you wouldn't be harming your baby by lifting heavy things. I have to pick up my 15kg toddler several times a day. I mean...dayuuuummm Wink

lotsoftoast · 23/08/2014 15:48

Last pregnancy I wouldn't lift. This one unfortunately I have no option (another one with a 15kg toddler) but I lifted him ok before so figured I'm ok to continue. I do have a sub choronioc haemotoma and it did concern me a little but a mw friend reassured me

Yeah I think once you get to second, third DC you don't really have much choice, do you! I'm trying to encourage DS to use the buggy less but I'm kinda hooked on it because I'm terrified he'll throw a massive wobbler if I don't carry him all the way home!

NotAQueef · 23/08/2014 17:25

Also can't avoid lifting 16kg DS even though he's 3.8 I still lift him several times a day for various things.

I haven't been sick today and have developed a new love of corn in the cob. Yummy

M27J5M · 23/08/2014 18:27

Have you all managed to avoid this ice bucket challenge?? I've been nominated twice and have just kinda ignored it but feeling bad cos people keep mentioning it but obv haven't told them the reason I'm not doing it! Really don't want to subject my body to that kinda shock incase it triggers anything!

littlemissy12345 · 23/08/2014 19:09

Safra, hope you are getting on ok, time is a great healer.

I've just got back from a 10 day hot but relaxing holiday (feeling nauseous constantly!) expecting to have my booking in letter but nada. Has anyone else got to 9 weeks without anything? I'm only a bit anxious to get it before I go back to school so I can let them know. I'll call on Tuesday just a bit peeved.

Right off to read a zillion posts and catch up properly!

lotsoftoast · 23/08/2014 19:30

Haven't been nominated M but won't be doing it either if I am. Hoping to announce post scan next Friday so will hopefully get away with it!

kittenmamma · 23/08/2014 19:32

Missy I only found out when I was nine weeks so I've done absolutely nothing yet!
M27, tell them all you've got a cold and get DH to do it for you ;)
Zebra there's a few things I physically can't do, I feel I cant.
The rest like the daily stuff is things that the company won't let me do, they're covering their own back really. Only need to wait a couple of weeks though and everyone will know so it won't be an issue.
