3 I would really take it as it comes. Each time is different and with your DS there were extenuating circumstances that made it so much more difficult. But even then sometimes, it just doesn't work out. Three people in my other group had a terrible time and their babies just flat out refused the breast - they screamed and screamed at the sight of their mother's breasts. It was awful for my friends, they felt like something was wrong with them and from an evolutionary perspective it doesn't make sense - like baby, you need these to survive! But all three are pregnant and plan to try again but with a much more casual attitude - if it works out, great. If not, they know formula is fine.

I think it would be good for you to give it a shot. If it works out it would be so cathartic for you, like with me and a good labour this time will heal the wounds from my DS's birth. And even though I successfully BF'd long term, I still don't expect it to be in the bag this time. The amazing thing about these ante natal groups is the vast array of differences you get to observe and I've learnt so much not just from having my own baby but from other people's babies. It's made me see just how many variables there are in any given situation and how much of it is out of control - and how much we still beat ourselves up for!

Good morning all Smile

Hope your all doing well and sorry to all of you that are feeling lousy!

Told my ds last night that he's going to be a big brother, think it's still sinking in for him as he's been asking questions constantly then got up this morning and asked if it's a boy can we call him Jacob as there's a Jacob in his class and he likes him!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 05/09/2014 10:51

M27 bless, how old is he? Grin. At least he sees the new addition as a positive thing!

ZebraZeebra · 05/09/2014 10:52

Awwww! Jacob is a lovely name.

Rainbow555 · 05/09/2014 11:21

3 yes to gag reflex! particularly when brushing my teeth!

M27J5M · 05/09/2014 11:21

He's 5.5, it's not a name if have picked but it's nice and told him I'd consider it Smile

M27 Jacob is at the top of my boys name list. next is Sebastian.

PurplePest · 05/09/2014 11:40

Hello all! Checking in as been away for a couple of weeks.

Have just about caught up!

Sorry to hear about the losses within our group. And loving all the positive scan news and pics!

Twittwooo · 05/09/2014 12:21

Lovely to see the scan pics! Glad I'm not the only one thinking about names already! Sebastian is also a name we're considering, but we're chatting last night and can't decide if it works or not! I find girls names a bit easier. Jacob is lovely!

M27J5M · 05/09/2014 13:06

It is a lovely name just not sure of it with surname! Tbh I haven't even considered names yet!

m33r · 05/09/2014 14:11

Another successful scan here. We had the NT and it came up on screen as 1.5mm which I thought was good but when I asked if I was high or low risk she said she couldn't tell me anything because it was a combined test and I needed the bloods. Anyone else have this? I thought 1.5mm was good??

lotsoftoast · 05/09/2014 14:34

1.5 is a low measurement yes, anything under 3.5 is fine.

That's good news m33r! Mine was 1.7mm and I was happy even before I got the bloods / combined results back (they were fine thankfully and gave me a 1:1,900).

ZebraZeebra · 05/09/2014 17:34

So many lovely scan pics!! Congrats to you all on your successful scans. It's such a relief, isn't it!

We tend to go for cool-but-not-completely-out-there names. Living in London and them being mixed race, i think we can kinda get away with it. I have a TOTALLY OUT THERE name that was on our list from last time and I'd love to but I don't know if I dare.

Lifeisabeach · 05/09/2014 17:49

I've been AWOL for a few days, just trying to catch up.

Congratulations to everyone who has had their scans, so lovely to see the pics! I'm now 11+3 and have still not had a scan date through. I texted the MW this afternoon asking if I should phone the scan dept to chase it, and she said yes I should and that she would too on Monday morning. So hopefully I'll have a date soon - I feel like the only person on here who hasn't had a scan yet! Will phone first thing Monday.

Interesting to read all the BFing talk and to hear about people's experiences. I had an awful time of it with DS, terrible cracked nipples, which lead to mastitis that I didn't get treated for quickly enough, and then developed into a breast abscess. It was a nightmare and I still have a scar to show for it!! Luckily I was able to continue BFing and fed DS until he self-weaned at 18 months. In contrast, BFing DD was so easy, hardly any pain (although I was armed with the lansinoh before she was born!), and I fed her til she was 2.5. Didn't think she would ever stop!!

DD started school this week, sob sob! She's loved it so far and looks unbelievably cute in her uniform Smile

ZebraZeebra · 05/09/2014 17:50

Sob lifeisabeach!! I've seen so many photos on FB this week of little tiny four year olds in their new school uniform. Waaaaaaah. I will be a hot mess when it's DS's turn. I bet she looked so lovely.

littlemissy12345 · 05/09/2014 17:51

Can I have some reassurance please? I'm 10+6 and today is the first day I've had no nausea or sickness. Petrified that it's too early to be feeling better. My boobs are still sore and I had a nap today (day off with DD). Had a mmc before so that doesn't help. I'm sure this happened with my DD too but I'm stressing myself out.

M27J5M · 05/09/2014 17:56

Littlemissy I started feeling more human around then, felt awful at the beginning of week 10 then it eased off completely and have barely any symptoms at all now to the extent I don't feel pregnant except for th big boobs and bump! Luckily have had my scan so know all is ok

m33r · 05/09/2014 18:09

little I had a few random days where I felt great. Nausea then came back but not as bad before. I am 12+1, had my scan today and am totally fine. Try to enjoy feeling ok

littlemissy12345 · 05/09/2014 18:18

Thank you girls. I can be rational and understand but then part of me keeps worrying. But I'll try and just enjoy it !

MGFM · 05/09/2014 18:32

I felt fine for my whole holiday which was week 9- 12 and now I am home I am suffering with nausea again and I am 13 weeks. I think my nausea is time zone specific! lol

ZebraZeebra · 05/09/2014 19:48

Yes definitely had a few random days around 10 weeks of feeling fine. Try not to worry - it might just mean it's passing for you and that's a really good thing! You're practically 11 weeks so it would be coming up to that time.

junkfoodaddict · 05/09/2014 20:34

Hopefully it won't be next Friday before I catch up again! Work is crazy. We're going into an OFSTED year and our HT has gone observation/book scrutniy obsessed. We're being observed on average every 4 weeks and our books scrutinised 3/4 weeks! If she isn't careful, she'll send a lot of staff into sick leave which would make things even worse for her if OFSTED turn up and her staff are all ill. I am exhausted. Having a night off. I need to.
I have my 12-week scan on Monday. I think I am getting movements but can nly describe them as gentle pressure/pushing feeling.
