I can't wait to go pram shopping g but will be leaving it for another few weeks yet, gonna try get organised and packed up for moving before I start looking

Lifeisabeach · 30/08/2014 20:41

I haven't got a date for my scan yet Coaster. Hoping I get it soon as I'm 10+4 already.

I'll have to look up the pram you got, I'm out of touch with the new ones that have come out recently as my youngest is 4. I've still got the Quinny Buzz I had for DS and the phil and teds sport double I had when DD came along, so I can't really justify buying another, although I'd like to!!

Rainbow555 · 30/08/2014 21:51

Keeper, just a word re iron tabs from doctor they are really strong and usually Ina form that is not well absorbed, causing digestive upsets and most commonly constipation. I really struggled with them , you might have no issues but just a heads up. You get get other forms in sachets or liquid from chemist that are easier to take!

My scan is a week away now, have had nothing yet and whilst I am not really thinking of mc too much I am wondering if there is really a baby in there!

Urg today we have church day, we waive at a school hostel and we are all off to church, it will go from 9.30 till 12 them a lunch that I know has no vegetarian food. How on earth will I get through that long without eating?? It is my major dilema today, it's hardly the done thing to whip out a sarnie in church!!! Maybe I could sneak off to the loo or something. No one at the hostel knows yet so makes it even more awkward!!

I think I'm going to have to dig out my pregnancy pilllw already - could not get comfy for love nor money last night! Back is aching this morning and I have to work later - wah!

Oh sweet pregnancy pillows. I had two - the sort of P shaped one you can also use for breast feeding and a Snoogle. I was thinking about them last night too. Getting a oroper sticky out bump now, I don't think it's all blubber.

Rainbow555 · 31/08/2014 09:20

zebra I am beginning to think mine is not all blubber either but it seems bit large for just over 11 weeks!
Maybe we should do some bump pics to see the variation between us all.

On another note, TMI, but does anyone else get sharp shorting pains going up side of who ha area? It's not pelvic like cramps it is a defo sharp shooting pain - is it all ligament things maybe? I must remember to ask midwife next time

theonewiththenoisychild · 31/08/2014 11:14

looking at prams again this morning. i have ruled out the quinny buzz xtra because i think the newborn insert makes it look ugly Sad i love quinnys too always wanted one but dont like it now with that insert. have been looking at the graco evo in yellow tho and i do like that and m&p pixo Smile

my friend offered me a cot not long ago that is in immaculate condition but she said she thought screws may be missing. well she needed it out of her way the other day as her son is going into his own room so we have it here. oh has put it together to see what if any screws are missing and its just 2 that hold the dropside bars stable so they dont wobble. well looked on ebay exact ones are £2.50 for 4 so will have spares too. getting new mattress of course. oh broke our m&p cot when he took it apart so was relieved when my friend offered me this one. we have oh and dd's birthday soon then christmas and baby to kit out

Marama · 31/08/2014 12:07

I've been lucky enough to have been offered a nearly new Bugaboo cameleon. We're going to get it refurbished, but so so grateful. Will be buying my friend chocs and flowers until the end of time!

M27J5M · 31/08/2014 12:33

I had a look I line at prams last night and a few mutsy ones stood out and a babystyle one! I jokingly showed my bf a hideous multi coloured thing that I hated and he actually loved it!!

Glad to hear some of you have been offered a few things Smile will save you some pennies! I'm lucky my pram is my only big thing I need to buy, still got my cot from DS

theonewiththenoisychild · 31/08/2014 13:23

m27 same here the pram is the only big spend for me too. i have a cot now and a moses basket from ds thats like new. i just need to get a new mattress for each of them. i have a big bag of bedding as always buy too much so it all looks like new Smile have a big bag of baby toys. i kept the best ones gave away the rest. still have a steriliser bottle warmer and 3 breast pumps

M27J5M · 31/08/2014 13:47

Oh my theone aren't you organised Smile my cot is the Only thing I have tho will manage to get the rest easily, I still have mattress for cot and it's still brand new as I always had a cover/protector on it and tbh it barely got used so unsure wether to just but new protector or go for full new mattress

muchostinky · 31/08/2014 13:49

We are quite lucky and still have DS's cotbed (just have to check if all the bits are there from when we took it apart) and I have DS's pushchair still. It is a Stokke and was very expensive (DS's Grandparents bought it, I dont think I would have spent so much on a pushchair!), so I would love to use that again to. Again, need to check it is all alright as it has been in the garage for four years. It is one of the first ones though I think so I am not sure if I can get new material bits for it. First world problems I know - the black and red that it is will be fine.

So really just need clothes, new mattress for cotbed and bottles if I dont manage to breastfeed. Oh and a lovely new changing bag! Grin

M27J5M · 31/08/2014 14:23

Hopefully everything still ok to use mucho Smile just reminded me I got bottles the other day, morrisons had a 6pack of tommy tipee down to 5.98 so got a wee bargain

Twittwooo · 31/08/2014 15:21

Afternoon ladies. Some of you are very organised! I haven't even thought about what I need to buy yet but will be waiting until things are quite a bit further along. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some advice or experience relating to my situation at the moment? I posted on pregnancy earlier as I wasn't sure about asking on here, but no luck on there so I hope you don't mind. I mentioned that I had a scan on Wednesday when they found I had a small bruise on my womb that is causing a small amount of bleeding. I've done a LOT of googling and think it's also called a subchorionic hematoma. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it? My main worry is the tissue that I'm passing - I've no idea what it is or where it's coming from. I've read lots about people bleeding to various degrees with this but nothing much about passing tissue. I'm trying not to worry but feel very much in the dark!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 31/08/2014 15:27

Dot will be in bed with me or in the moses basket my friend is lending me. We're breastfeeding, have cloth nappies and a several slings plus DS' s baby clothes so whilst I'd love to go on a shopping spree I think I'll have to restrain myself to just one little "first outfit" outfit for thw memory box.

DS' s was blue with little hot air balloons on. super cute

ZebraZeebra · 31/08/2014 15:47

Pretty much exactly the same here eats I have two Moses baskets as I'll mostly be doing solo bedtimes and have vague logistical worries about how to keep DS's bed time as it is while keeping a baby with me. If they happen to fall asleep in the Moses basket downstairs as we do bedtime for DS I'd probably leave them for the twenty minutes it takes to get DS to sleep. But what if they wake up?!

Can't think of a single reason to buy anything other than a couple of outfits. Much as I'd love a spending spree.

coastergirl · 31/08/2014 15:53

I have to admit I have bought a couple of little outfits for right at the very beginning. Definitely not going to be going crazy getting a whole wardrobe of stuff though. We're not finding out what we're having, and I know people will buy us stuff once baby is born, so we're just relying on that!

ZebraZeebra · 31/08/2014 16:02

No we didn't find out with DS either. I didn't go much for the blue anyway - hate that whole "boys and girls must be in blue or pink!" thing. When I was pregnant with DS I got lots of neutral sleep suits - whites, lemon, pale green, brightly coloured ones, animal motifs on them etc.

I got DS some quilted dungarees when he was about three months old - they're a pale grey colour with a koala bear on the front. He looked so beautiful in grey! So I mainly dressed him in white/grey/cream/stone/brown/pale teal. Oh he was such a beautiful baby!

Twittwooo · 31/08/2014 16:13

I keep checking in to in the hope that someone has some words of advice for me! I am quite worried, as I'm assuming this is quite unusual. I guess it's just a waiting game now, nothing much I can do.

M27J5M · 31/08/2014 16:29

Sorry I can't offer any advice twitt, it's something I know nothing about and the I'd never heard of it till you mentioned! Hope you get answers soon

ELA88 · 31/08/2014 16:52

Sorry twit same here I'm pretty clueless on everything pregnancy related :-(
I bought DH the expectant dads book and spent most of this morning reading it! Like how to bath a baby, I've never even changed a nappy in my life! Eek!
Got my bounty pack today so officially have my first baby items! Bibs and a nappy! And something that I think is a terry towel?! Not 100% sure! Xx

lotsoftoast · 31/08/2014 17:10

twitt I had one! It was seen on scan at 8 weeks, and had gone by 12 weeks. I had no symptoms other than a wee bit of spotting at 4 weeks. If you have bleeding, you are best to do pelvic rest so no sex or orgasms I'm afraid! Did they say how big yours was? They often shrivel up of their own accord and don't affect the rest of your pregnancy

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 31/08/2014 17:15

Ok I can't take this pain much longer surely it isn't normal ?

For the past two days I have had excruciating stomach pains , I can't stand because of it & I'm pretty much useless because of it Sad

I've no bleeding or anything touch wood

Any ideas ?

Twittwooo · 31/08/2014 17:27

Thanks toast and others! I've resigned myself to the fact that the tissue stuff is unusual, I'm just hoping it's not a bad sign. I'm a bit of a worrier about these things but I need to remember that, at the hospital, they didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about. There's really not much bleeding at all, slight spotting but more of a dark discharge. No pain either, so fingers crossed. Maybe it's part of the bruise? Who knows! MyPanda - no bleeding is good but if you're worried I'd contact the pregnancy unit if you haven't already, just to put your mind at rest more than anything.

Lifeisabeach · 31/08/2014 17:31

I don't have any personal experience, Twitt, but just had a quick google and there were lots of posts on various pregnancy sites where people had subchorionic haematoma and were passing clots and tissue, and their pregnancies progressed as normal despite the bleeding.

Could you speak to a midwife for reassurance?
