A few babies have already arrived, with more due to make their entrance soon, and it's not even September yet!

white We have a foam mattress with a layer of memory foam on top and that came rolled. It wasn't smelly at all, just took couple of hours to get the right 'shape' from the squeezing before.

I'd probably got a different one from somewhere else as it might be from bad storage in the warehouse that it's so damp and you'd be risking mould growing in and out. It definitely shouldn't be like that!

lucidlady · 28/08/2014 17:06

Congratulations Twos! He's adorable and I love the name! Hope you are ok?

velvetlilithi · 28/08/2014 17:08

Twos Congratulation!! That wasn't a long waiting for you then. Happy birthday Cassius and welcome. Such a cuttie!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/08/2014 17:13

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/08/2014 17:14

Sorry meant Twos not Top, brain still ain't working today x

whiteblossom · 28/08/2014 17:28

Thanks velvet that was what I was thinking too. Its finally been collected so Im airing off the house and Ill buy a nice candle tomorrow. Can I ask what make your bed is?

Its meant that Im left with the old crappy mattress to sleep on and Im worried about my back hence buying a new one. Ive just lost the will to live with it to be honest so Im thinking just get a topper but they are just as expensive as a new mattress!!

DearDinah · 28/08/2014 17:32

Congrats twos what a beautiful baby! Love the name!

Cindy5389 · 28/08/2014 17:38

Congratulations twos!!

Amazing all the baby boys born. (Not sure if the parents of all the babies born so far knew the sex before hand) I wonder if the girl stats will start to pick up or if it's going to b a baby boy dominated thread.

CumbrianExile · 28/08/2014 17:43

Congrats Two, another cutie for the thread Grin

polkadotdelight · 28/08/2014 17:47

Congratulations twos he is beautiful and I love his name.

Thank you for taking the time to update the stats list Red

I saw my own consultant today to discuss my concerns after last weeks huge growth scan and not so nice Doctors appointment. She was fab, Im being scanned again next week (38) as she is on leave when I woukd be having 39 week scan and I will seeing her after to discuss the plan. If his growth has slowed then Im cracking on with a natural birth (still terrified of this now) but if growth is still ridiculous then she is happy for me to have an elective section. So time will tell!

velvetlilithi · 28/08/2014 17:49

white We have exactly this one www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6341134.htm and from Argos as well. Delivered to our door and we've had it for a year now and no problem with it. It's really comfy to sleep on (well, now I don't sleep comfy anywhere but no fault of mattress Smile ).

The only thing we struggled was to put back on the cover after washing.. It rubs against the foam so it's really horrible to put it back on. But only reason for taking it off was that we had the mattress on the floor for 2 weeks after we moved and were without a bed. Without that, no reason for washing.

lilone1234 · 28/08/2014 18:10

twos Congratulations on the arrival of Cassius! He's a real cutie!

Oh wooow, things happening fast here and I can't catch up as just trying to adjust to my new born schedule :) very tired really...

Twos congrats, he is a cutie - and he is exactly the same weight as my baby boy at birth...

Cookie , I had problems bf and I found the bf specialists in hospital very helpful... I may still need to go to bf clinic as I also have problems with sore nipples, etc.. Have you tried them ?

I just read about a loss in August thread- that is heart breaking- I am still not over the drama we went through - we recieved the hospital report today and just reading through what happened made us very upset again; Not having my little baby boy in my arm was really a possibility as I read through the report... It is also nerverackign to know they were not even 100% sure if they should go for C-Section immdiately and I am so glad I insisted on it now, given I was no where near labour... Dara has lost lots of blood inside me which made him very unwell... But they didn't realise any of this before he was born... On a positive side, these little babies are so strong... He made it through so quickly and so nicely given everything that went on... And I am so glad and thankful about how things progressed ... I am hoping his next test results are going to be OK too...

Cookie, top, bug, ilove, kicks, tea, congrats on your babies xx

Red, nice stat, thanks

Ladies, are we going to have a baby thread soon? I.e. Are we all going to move to a baby thread together soon?

IAteSomeofthePies · 28/08/2014 19:29

Congrats Twos. He's gorgeous!

Thanks for the updated stats, Red.

That's very scary, Nazly. I'm getting more and more paranoid about tracking movements.

I finished what I hope is my last day of work today at 39+6. It's about time! I'm supposed to be on annual leave this week, but ended up having to do a couple days of work. Out of office is on now, hurrah!

slithytove · 28/08/2014 20:11

DD1 was stillborn.

It's heartbreaking and terrifying and I don't think there is a loss quite like it.

KitKat1985 · 28/08/2014 20:49

Congratulations twos on the birth of cassius. Can't believe how many babies we've has already and we're not even in September yet!

Thank you red for updating the stats.

I am nearly done with work. I have to go to a training day tomorrow and then that's it, but it was my last day on the ward today so my colleagues gave me a lovely send-off and bought me loads of presents (and some funny ones)! I have really mixed views on it all. Sometimes I feel like I've been counting the days down for ages as I'm pretty knackered now (I'm over 37 weeks) and looking forward to a few days with my feet up pre-baby and a year away from work stress, but on the other hand I'm lucky to work with really nice people and I don't have many people near to where I live in terms of friends and family, so a lot of daily social contact is through work if you see what I mean. Kind of anxious that I'm going to go stir-crazy in the house for a year with no adult conversation apart from when DH is home from work! Confused Also I really don't think I've got my head around how potentially imminent baby is now. I've spent so long focusing on work stuff that to find myself suddenly at full-term is a bit of a shock! x

AlwaysandForever09 · 28/08/2014 21:05

Congrats two! Lovely name too.
Thanks for being really organised and sorting the stats out red it's good to see what's coming up with everyone! Well I saw the midwife for the headaches today, slight protein in my wee apparently and blood pressure was slightly up, but she said she wasn't overally concerned, and I'm seeing my own midwife next week so will see what she says, still measuring big and looks like the little monkey isn't engaged anymore either :( so feeling little bit dissapointed, I'm feeling so much pressure down there though it doesn't feel like he's changed position.

AlwaysandForever09 · 28/08/2014 21:07

Bet your relieved to of finished work too kitkat admire you working on till then especially in our job too! Enjoy some rest now before baby comes!

AlwaysandForever09 · 28/08/2014 21:07

your

Topsyloulou · 28/08/2014 21:12

Kitkat I felt the same when I finished work last week. Have been trying to book something in every day to get me out of the house. We live in a small village & all my friends / family are a 20 minute plus drive away so I'm worried about the lack of adult company too. Planning to go to some of the local baby groups next week so I can start to meet some local mums even before he arrives. The ladies on my nct class were all lovely and planning on seeing them regularly too. Everyone at work has been asking how soon I'll bring the baby in & they are sending me our weekly newsletter thing so I can keep up to date with all the gossip / business news.

Teabiscuits · 28/08/2014 21:33

Congrats twos, well done!

Thanks red for the list Smile

nazly sorry if you have already posted what happened and I missed it but I see that your little boy lost blood inside you. Was that down to an abruption? I had one with my DS and the experience too a long time for me to get over. Whatever caused it, don't bottle things up, talking it over really helped me.

Bottle feeding was definitely the right decision. Even on the bottles Emma has only gained 1 oz in 3 days. Midwife wasn't worried as at least she had gained, but I'm almost certain she would have lost more weight on brea standard feeding.

Hope everyone is getting on ok X

Teabiscuits · 28/08/2014 21:37

Stupid phone! Breast feeding, not standard feeding. What a weird auto correct.

Beccus · 28/08/2014 21:40

slithytove, that is so so sad, i am so sorry. I can't imagine how anxious that must make u feel during ur pregnancy.
tea, really glad u made the right decision about feeding and it's working out so well for u both
congratulations two

KatharineClover · 28/08/2014 21:43

I'm so sorry to hear about your DD1 slithytove x I can't imagine your pain.
I nearly cried today talking to the midwife about my twin's stillbirth and that's not even my grief, it's my mum's.

Sorry to hear how difficult things were for your little one Nazly - I had a birth debrief after DS1's birth where the head midwife came to see me & took me through what had happened, it was really helpful. X

Congratulations on the birth of Cassius Twosacrowd :)

slithytove · 28/08/2014 21:47

Thank you Thanks
I'm lucky enough to have had a rainbow DS since DD was taken from us, so I've been a bit calmer with this pregnancy.

We lost her at 39+3 during labour, and DS was born by CS at 36 weeks, so I think when I hit 39 weeks and also when labour starts I'll be struggling mentally then.

But ive had monthly scans and dopplers, the baby is so healthy, and I have a terribly supportive midwife, so I don't really have anything to worry about except an emergency scenario, same as everything else. History repeating itself (placental failure causing iugr) is not going to happen.

I'm not in the August group, but I know what that poor mum is going through, and i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
