It's a lovely name euro!

SinkyMalinks · 26/07/2014 12:18

Lovely name Euro! And fwiw, I like the order you've picked.

At the commonwealth games. Bit of a nightmare tbh- too hot and loud. I've had to come outside and am sat feeding on a fold up chair in the street. Awesome. Mister is asleep now, but if I went back in he'd wake so am sitting it out.

Ugly big knickers are the best. I ran out of my megapants the other day and had to do an emergency wash - tried my real pants and it was a total no-go: you need high waistlines with a c-section! They're totally hideous and v embarrassing on the washing line, but I don't care Grin

I did not have a cs and am still rocking the mega pant look. Fits the post natal jelly belly in and they are soooo comfy! My tip is to pad up your clean bra and pants before getting in the shower. I hate breast pads. The sticky bits keep getting stuck on my nipples.

Wtf??? Tomorrow we have a wedding to go to with a two year old and a five week old! Wish me luck! At least there will be wine :)

It's a lovely name Euro.

Big unsexy pants are definitely the way to go, comfort is everything post-birth.

Good luck with the wedding kat, enjoy the wine!

It's still super hot here too, 27 degrees when I went to bed last night in our room Hmm Thankfully it looks like it will cool off in the next few days. I don't begrudge a warm summer, just not a sticky, muggy one!

maamalady · 26/07/2014 13:36

That is a genius idea, kat, how have I not thought of it before?! I'm finding the lansinoh breast pads pretty good unless I get all hot and sweaty, when they come unstuck and roll up when I move my bra to feed. Definitely making a huge difference to sore nipple comfort though.

Good luck with the wedding! :)

Oh yes, v warm here too. The calf is just wearing short sleeved vests day and night and seems to be managing. I thought grobags were a no-no for newborns?

And lovely name, euro, and glad to hear centime is getting cuddles :) How are you? Has some of the stress gone now she's born?

eurochick · 26/07/2014 13:44

Blimey Kat. Good luck with that...

bugs I usually wear size 12 pants and bought a mix of M&S 14 and 16 granny pants. The 16s are definitely the most comfy.

It's a shame you are missing the Games, sinky but I can imagine it is just too hot and uncomfortable in there. At least the hospital is air conditioned.

We're just back from a visit. We gave her a little cotton wool bed bath and changed her outfit. We're feeling more like parents now. She had another quick go on the boob but was a bit tired and fretful to give it a proper go. We'll have another try later. We had a bit of an ARGH moment just as we were leaving though, when we noticed she was suddenly covered in blood. Her canula had come out and she was bleeding everywhere. Poor thing.

FrankelandFilly · 26/07/2014 13:45

Grobag use is judged by weight for newborns. IIRC it is 8lb6oz before you can use them. As E was a big 'un she was in them within a few weeks Grin

eurochick · 26/07/2014 13:48

draf some of the stress has definitely gone now that she is here and seems to be doing well.

My recovery has been amazing. Clearly surgeon who has a massively high opinion of himself was right. :) I suspect having a micro baby also helped (small incision). I'm hoping I will be signed off to drive on Monday. I've felt ready for a couple of days, tbh. How about you?

euro even going by the tone of your posts you seem much less stressed, it's great to see. I'm so pleased you and centime (love her name btw! Her first name would have been near the top of my list except it's HWCA's ex girlfriend's name :) )

draf grobags are for 8lb something, the baby was 9lb6 when she was weighed on Tuesday so I reckon we're fine!

Big knickers are tremendous. The sexiness factor is irrelevant as I am never letting anyone near my poor bits ever again.

kat good luck at the wedding. What will you be wearing? I'm going to a wedding on Thursday and had real trouble finding something to accommodate my big belly but let my boobs out.

Hideous day today. Tried to drive to a friend's house, she was hosting a bbq for my birthday. Traffic reports all said the roads were fine which was a LIE. The baby woke up hungry when we were stuck in stationary motorway traffic only halfway there. After a fair bit of screaming (her) and crying (me) I managed to get off and feed her and clean up a massive poosplosion in a burger king car park. When she finally settled and fell asleep I turned round and went home. What a shite way to spend an afternoon.

sinks sorry you're missing the games.

maamalady · 26/07/2014 18:05

Good to hear it, euro :) All fine here, though I don't fancy driving yet - I could probably manage the car but I doubt I'd be able to get the car seat in/out so there's not much point. I have quite a big scar though as she was a bit wedged (or at least, they were worried she was), so it'll take a while to mend. I have been astonished by the speed of recovery all the same.

That sounds utterly miserable, winks :( We went for a walk round the village just now and the calf started grizzling halfway (the village is minuscule) and screaming by the time we were 3/4 round, poor love. She's spark out on HOTB at the minute, hopefully she'll be nice and calm when she wakes up.

I may investigate our grobag collection and see if there's anything suitable - the calf was 8lb 11oz on Tuesday, so she is probably good to go too :)

Urgh. Back at in laws from games. Long day, everyone knackered, and perhaps unsurprisingly, R had a melt down. I was in the shower and in laws were dealing by sitting him infront of fecking cbebbies. He's fucking 16 weeks. He doesn't give a fuck about cbebbies.

I've eventually settled and fed him. Am now listening to angry whispering downstairs. Apparently I should be told. The baby should have a dummy and a bottle. And I shouldn't keep his feeding to myself. And I should come down now and eat dinner.

I'm hiding. GHJ is bringing me glasses of water. Think I can stay here all night?

SinkyMalinks · 26/07/2014 20:17

Oh, winks, that car journey sounds truly horrendous. I still cry when stuck in traffic if R is melting down. It just hurts doesn't it?

Oh, we've already had words today. I think they think I'm hormonal and mad. Sigh.

What can't they see that tired and over hungrey baby = tears. And don't even start me on the obsession (obsession I tell you) on fucking cbebbies.

Fuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk

SinkyMalinks · 26/07/2014 20:31

Big pants rock though.
