I'm the same mrsb. Well I can get to sleep but I can't stay asleep.
I wake up every morning feeling ridiculously hungover and grumpy! Envy

mum2kiss · 02/07/2014 09:33

I was somehow still awake at 1am...just didn't feel tired once I got in bed!

Slipped on the stairs at about 5am when I I was heading to the loo...was on the bottom 3 steps and landed on my ass but my hip immediately started hurting! Woke up feeling very sore this morning so have taken the day off work to rest up.

bugger I really don't think that's too much weight, I have gained that and more...here is a link to see where you are versus the guidelines: www.direct2mum.co.uk/WebPages/weight-gain-calculator (one of the girls on the facebook group v helpfully posted it!)

MundayCakes85 · 02/07/2014 10:19

Bugger don't worry about weight gain, if you're being sensible eating wise you'll gain what your body needs. I put on about 2 stone by 20 weeks and I don't think I'm over eating Smile

LondonJen · 02/07/2014 10:30

Thank you for that tip Fedup it never occurred to me they might go back down was just thinking how they are supposed to balloon up for bf. I will def get nursing version of soft cup ones in this size if that's going to happen.

Another late driver here. Passed I think was 2008? Same here re being in London meaning I just don't need to drive much and so don't feel so confident to do it these days. I wanted to learn to drive and swim before I had kids and used Paul McKenna hypno to help me overcome fear about both. It worked so I am hoping for the same result from the natal hypnotherapy!! God bless my easily manipulated brain!

Sorry to hear people are feeling a bit shit. Cake for you all

MrsTibbs · 02/07/2014 10:37

Hello all :) I'm due 19th Oct with first baby! Just thought I'd say hello, I've not quite got the hang of this yet!
Xx

YellowWellies · 02/07/2014 10:41

I was dreading a bad night as DH is working in London and I was flying solo with the toddler, but despite two tooth related wake ups before midnight - he then gave me a nice 8 hour stretch (thank you anbesol!). I'm wondering if I'm so knackered from looking after him that I'm not getting many preggo symptom wake ups at all this pregnancy. I used to be up 3-4 times a night for a wee or with a sore leg / hip / back / restless legs / indigestion etc last time. I have those symptoms this time but am shattered so seem to be sleeping through them. Maybe there is an advantage to toddler herding after all.

Yes to the comment about boobs going back down - I was racked like a porn star the first month of BF (day 2-3 after labour when my milk came in DH's eyes were on stalks Shock)- but then when my boobs had got the supply / demand thing sorted they went back down to a size above my pre-pregnancy boobies for the rest of BF. I'm still there now. They haven't really changed this pregnancy at all.

YellowWellies · 02/07/2014 10:48

My pals' sister has gone into labour - two days after her due date. I'm so excited! She's at my best pal's house, in a lot of pain as the wee bugger is back to back. We've just suggested she scrub the floors to turn the baby (and ducked to avoid a slap). They won't let her into hospital for another 6-8 hours at least as her contractions are so irregular, so she's surviving on paracetamol. I'm so excited. It's a good thing I'm preggers as I'm ridiculously broody.

Me23 · 02/07/2014 10:57

I have a poorly toddler with d&v! Not much sleep for me last night either. Ds is exhausted too poor thing, I'm hoping he falls asleep is currently laying on sofa watching peppa pig.

I got an email yesterday for the preview of mothercare sale I was not impressed wasn't much on there.

I've had acid indigestion from the beginning I got on the Ranitidine and plenty of milk straight away Rennes and the like don't touch it.

Yoga 2x per week, walking about 30 mins a day

YellowWellies · 02/07/2014 12:53

Yoga once a week and I'm walking 5 miles a day probably 5 days a week (less at weekends when we have the car).

mum2kiss · 02/07/2014 12:55

Exercise? What is this thing you speak of bugs?!

Hi All.

I'm a first timer and due on the 13th October.

I was looking for some advice/reassurance. I was going to do a google search but realised that could freak me out a bit and thought this would be the best place to come.

I spoke to my midwife who was really helpful and obviously referred to my bible "what to expect". I have had some serious cramp whilst walking not continuous, no spotting, baby kicking away as per usual. My midwife told me it was ligament pain. Is this common? You have so many threads its taken me ages to find the end!

Hi Mrs Tibbs - glad to see there are other newbees to the thread!

Welcome on board tibbs and lin :)

lin ligament pain is very common. Sometimes mine can slow me to a stand still...guess our bodies are just telling us to slow down a bit whilst it grows a baby!

Kirstipops · 02/07/2014 14:00

Hi Tibbs and Lin
Yep I get ligament pain now and again too, it's horrible but thankfully not had it too bad the last couple of weeks.

Exercise-wise my commute involves about a 2 mile walk per day, and I've been trying to do my pre-natal pilates DVD for half an hour every day. Bugger I also wouldnt worry too much about weight gain, it'll come off at the other side; I'd gained the same as you by 24 weeks if not more!
Exciting times Yellow, keep us updated on your friend's sis gets on!

5 miles a day isn't very glamorous - trips to Aldi, toddlers, nursery, running after a toddler and a dog walk. I don't drive (am part way through lessons) so have always walked everywhere - normally I'd be doing 7+ miles (that way I can eat whatever I want and not put on weight!!) but have slowed down a bit in pregnancy. I get ligament pain much worse when I've been sedentary so slowing down might not always be answer - depending on when you get it. A slow stroll might help if sitting down doesn't?

YellowWellies · 02/07/2014 14:02

After 9 hours labouring at home - my pal's sis has just gone into hospital. Woo exciting!!! Knowing her, and back to back labours - I bet she's toking on that gas and air and is screeching for an epidural! Fingers crossed it's smooth. Can't wait to find out if its a boy or girl. You don't get many surprises these days with folks often announcing the sex and name of their baby before its born.

mum2kiss · 02/07/2014 14:14

Lol I love how you sound almost gleeful about your friends agonising pain yellow. I'm getting images of you patting your bump and saying "bring it on!"

fatpony · 02/07/2014 14:45

Those who have babies already can you explain how the sleeping thing works in terms of covers? Obviously there are the sleeping bags which their arms stick out of - underneath the bag would they just wear a single layer baby suit (i.e. long arms and legs one)?

What about blankets or does the sleeping bag replace the need for those?

And I've seen these sleeping gown things which are meant to be good for quick nappy changes (like this one - not that I would spend £60 on one! www.naturebaby.com/uk/merino-essentials-sleeping-gown-p-262.html). Are they an 'instead' of sleeping bag as presumably you couldn't fit them in their gown inside the bag (or could you)?

Clueless! But wanting to start shopping for the sleepwear stuff!

Kirstipops · 02/07/2014 15:04

Fatpony I ordered one of these www.naturalbabyshower.co.uk/love-to-dream-swaddle-white.html
and I'm also wondering what would be worn underneath and/or on top!

Hi Lin, i have a book called 'my pregnancy' which gives week by week info & 26 weeks is titled 'ligament pain' so i think your fine :)

Sorry people are feeling rubbish atm, it does make me feel a bit more justified when complaining to DH though! I am finding achey legs at night the worse, i wake up feeling like I've been hill walking all night!

Had my 25 week appointment today, midwife did not tell me off like i was expecting so feeling better now Smile. I think my area must just be really hot on bmi's (lucky me!)
