I usually wear stretchy phase eight dresses for work (bought for cheap in the sale) and they have been great this pregnancy not really had to get anything for work(just hope they don't over stretch and never go back but will wait and see).
I think I might need to get a couple pairs of leggings and a pair of jeans. My lovely sister in law gave me some of her clothes but she was pregnant over winter so is more like jumpers etc and also we are quite different sizes to start so don't really fit, still was so nice of her.

Someone brought in cakes to the office today and I just ate a huge wedge of lemon drizzle cake yum Grin it has definitely made my morning and I don't care that it is before 10am

Dazedconfused · 12/06/2014 10:09

also I cannot believe there is a February 2015 thread!! Time goes so fast Smile

DearDinah · 12/06/2014 10:26

I'm getting measured for the first time today, hope it's good news, I don't feel particularly big, but my SIL says to take the measurements with a pinch of salt so we'll see.
I need more dresses now just too hot for denim!

CoolCat2014 · 12/06/2014 15:26

I've got a couple non maternity maxi dresses that are doing me well - one from phase 8 sale, one from H&M and just bought a knee length summer dress from sainsburys, doesn't fit quite right but half the price of maternity stuff!

Think I need to buy maternity nightie and swimsuit though, my non maternity stuff just isn't long enough.

whiteblossom · 12/06/2014 16:22

Im too hot.

I'M TOOOOO BLOODY HOT!!

I put sandles on this morning with a small buckle....it was hard work, so much so I had to wait for ds to finish school to take them off for me.

I only have one nightie that fits and Im not sure for how much longer, I need a spare for the wash and one or two for hospital bag. I cant shop in this heat though will have to wait for rain!

ilovemonstersInc · 12/06/2014 16:59

Primark have a nightie for £4 and its maternity

Is there anywhere that sells good maternity swimsuits? I don't want a tankini, and I want one I can actually swim in - so no halternecks, no tie up straps, no "may be destroyed by chlorine" labels. I have loads of nice bikinis for quick dips/sunbathing but I always get a proper one piece for actual swimming as exercise. Given that it's the main form of exercise recommended for preggos I'm shocked at how hard it is to find anywhere that sells one!

I've tried all the usual suspects but all of them seemed to be designed for sunbathing rather than actual swimming.

I just had a quick google East and Asos & mothercare have some xx

Missbright was it you who mentioned non-alcoholic Kopperberg in a previous message? If so thank you so much! I didnt know it existed but now have a lovely chilled glass in hand. Hope you're all enjoying sunny summery evenings Smile

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/06/2014 19:44

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/06/2014 19:46

Teabiscuits · 12/06/2014 19:51

dinah in all 3 previous pregnancies I have measured small for dates, small enough last time to be sent for lots of growth scans. My babies were all born within 2 days of due dates and we're 6lb14, 7lb3, and 6lb 5 so smallish, but not worryingly tiny.

This time I'm measuring bang on, so I'm a bit worried I could have a whopper in there as I usually come up so small!

Inbl00m · 12/06/2014 19:59

Missbright yeah it's amazing, perfect with Orange is the new Black before the football!

Although we're Team Pink baby is firmly Team Footy - she goes mad during matches and I'm craving watching it Confused

Eastwiththem · 12/06/2014 20:28

Missbright I've looked at ASOS and Mothercare and neither of them have "swimming" swimsuits! Only 3 one pieces in mothercare, of which 2 are halterneck with ties, the other has detachable straps (because yeh, I want my boobs to flop out halfway through a length). ASOS appears to have more choice but 12 of the one-pieces have tied halternecks, 1 is a fixed halterneck, 1 looks ok but has decorative ties/ruffles which are annoying if you are actually trying to swim. Which leaves 2 possibles, 1 of which is sold out in normal sizes and the other one is plain black, which even with my level of fussiness is just a bit too dull!

I have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about how hard it is to find maternity clothes though, I may have complained to M&P head office about it until they gave me vouchers to go away... Blush

Bananapickle · 12/06/2014 20:46

Went shopping today and went into two shops within 5 minutes of each other, one lady thought my bump was big for 26 weeks and the second one thought I was really small...argh!!! I know it shouldn't bother me but why do people comment on the size of our bumps?! I don't get it.
Not doing too bad with the heat at the moment but I've become a maxi dress and maxi skirt wearer which is very unlike me!!

ilovemonstersInc · 12/06/2014 20:59

All these bump comments are confusing at times. Ive never actually been told I have a small bump lol.
My growth scan efw are almost always bang on so according to baby centre baby is 1.2kg and according to scan its a few oz of 2kg Shock

DearDinah · 12/06/2014 21:09

inbloom thanks for that, I measured normal so that was a relief, but baby is lying sideways, she told me not to worry at this point, but I can't help it! Will be getting on all fours as much as poss! Lol
east I bought a swimsuit from m/c a blooming marvellous one, didn't realise the straps were detachable and they pop off really easily! Had to get my mum to stitch them on, what's the point! Lol

topmammy · 12/06/2014 21:14

I'm with you there whiteblossom on the I'M TOO HOT!!!!! complaint. Only one window opens in my classroom so it's bit of a greenhouse. Although I shouldn't really complain as in my colleague's classroom precisely zero windows can open Shock

banana I think people comment on bump size just for something to say mostly but I agree it's a bit annoying!

Roll on the weekend :)

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/06/2014 21:15

What about m.figleaves.com/uk/ranges/maternity-and-nursing/swimwear/19738/20104/ East any of these good for you? Xx I'm shocked at the prices tbh, and it might just be me but no maternity clothes are to my taste :/ I'm currently living in leggins and stretchy long cami tops til I can get myself some nice summer bits lol xx

DearDinah · 12/06/2014 21:39

BTW anyone else struggling with sore skin from stretching? By the end of the day my tummy feels like it's going to split open, I'm moisturising everyday but wondered if there's any special lotions I can try?

petitverdot · 12/06/2014 22:11

M&S had some non-halterneck maternity swimming costumes, but they're still possibly a bit "fashion" for proper exercise: www.marksandspencer.com/maternity-spotted-swimsuit/p/p22274990 (they have it in plain black as well)
I got a nice one from Next too x

Nazly · 13/06/2014 00:42

Deardina have u used bio oil ?I feel better since I am using bio oil instead of moisturiser ;

Also ladies I ordered a new one called natural stretch oil -earth mama angel baby- which i got a only a few days ago and it is brilliant ; it feels similar to bio oil but it is cheaper (even after being dispatched from US), smells nicer and has a spray head which is a lot easier to use than bio oil - check the rating on Amazon US, its great

whiteblossom · 13/06/2014 07:34

I have to say good old baby oil is fab, I can always feel it on my skin the morning after in the shower, where as bio oil disappears by the afternoon. I a big fan of shea butters for the bump too.

I had someone ask me "if" I was expecting...she said I was small, but really IF?!. She really had no idea and Id had a conversation with her just the day before and she didn't notice. Im not small by the way!

ilovemonstersInc · 13/06/2014 08:27
