Missb I met a fee women with small babies on the wardand a few of them were bbeing induced. 1 at 38 weeks nd 1 at 40weeks. They didnt know why baby wassmall llike I dont know why baby is big.

Ive got ecoli In my kidneys so thats started uterine contractions which has threatened early labour.

Its done some damage as to putting me at high risk for prem labour. The fact that the test came vack positive for prem labour means it could happen at any time and the knly thing theh can do is treat the infection and hope it helps the pain. If in 2 or 3 weeks im still like this will probably get a sweep. If I go into labour before thaf I have a proper birth plan as I hemorrhage after delivery so thats reassuring too.

Even though the infection is being treated still at risk of prem labour as test was positive Hmm

Ilove hope all went well at the consultant.
MissB I agree with White - if there was anything of real concern they would have explained it to you, but def speak to the midwife just to put your mind at rest.
White I am with you on wanting my body back. Sick of feeling hot and bothered all the time, and all I want is a really cold cider with lots of Ice. But only 7(or there abouts) weeks to go Grin

CumbrianExile · 16/07/2014 18:14

Spectacular cross post there Ilove. Good to hear you have a reason for the contractions and threatened prem labour. Hopefully the pain will ease with the treatment Thanks

xxmissbrightsidexx · 16/07/2014 18:22

Sorry ladies know I probably sound daft don't I :(

cookielove · 16/07/2014 20:58

missbright you don't sound daft you sound concerned, which I think we all should be, if we didn't worry about our babies, we wouldn't be good mummy's! Wow I can't believe I am actually going to be a mummy!

ilove so glad you have an answer and now can get the treatment you deserve!

white I am quite enjoying being pregnant, but I am really not enjoying this rubbish heat wave, it is too hot!

I had my first appointment with the diabetic midwife today, well after the initial meeting where she explained everything, and she is very happy with my sugar levels, whoop whoop! She has also told me to stop taking pills for my thyroid as my levels are correct for pregnancy :)

But she is slightly concerned about my blood pressure, as it is higher than it was before but still in the normal range! So she wants me to see the community midwife for a check!

ilovemonstersInc · 16/07/2014 21:07

Missb you sound like the other mums I mentioned.

They just wanted to know that their babies were ok.
One woman didnt want kids it was her hubby who did but once she got round the idea and the fact shes pregnant and then her being told her baby was om the small side with not enough fluid it really freaked her out.

She was induced at term.

Cookie hopefully your bp was a one off. Glad your off some meds x

Thanks ladies x I'm just overly sensitive atm and all this ain't helping :( trying to stay positive for the baby, and my little family, but really feel like I'm falling to pieces x but whatever will be will be xx

Anyhoooo, hope you're okay iLove , and everyone else too xx

I feel so paranoid about my weight! 2 women in the hospital today were openly staring at me and 1 of them was like 'sorry just looking at your bump' made me feel like a zoo animal glaring at me like that lol.. Which brings me to the subject of, get your bumps out ( if you want to that is lol )
Here's mine taken today 31w x

TeamEponine · 16/07/2014 22:06

ilove - So pleased that they have at least worked out why this is happening. Hopefully that will make it a little easier to help you and reduce the pain.

missb - A small baby isn't necessarily a problem at all. They can just vary a lot. Ours is measuring up small, particularly with the abdominal circumfrence. Her percentiles are from about 3 - 20, so some are well under the tenth percentile. However, she had been that tiny since the 20 week scan, so the midwife said that she's not worried as baby is obviously just a petite thing. Both DH and I were quite slight and small babies, so I think she is probably just how her genetics have made her.

The midwife said she'd only really worry if baby went from being big at the 20 week scan to being tiny at a later scan. So I get the impression that being small isn't necessarily a problem, but a rapid and big change in size (in either direction) could be worrying. We're going for a growth scan in a couple of weeks, just to check that she is still growing at the expected rate, but the midwife said it is just to reassure us!

Wow, these little things cause us do much worry. She's also causing me a fair amount of discomfort. I wonder why she finds it so comfy to shove her feet as high into my rib cage as she can? Ouch!!!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 16/07/2014 22:11

TeamEponine it's just a bit new to me this, I've had 2 boys and didn't have a problem with their growth or weight, they were 8lb 14 1/2, & 8lb, this little lady however has been worrying us since the 20w scan, putting us through our paces already lol xx

bugoven · 17/07/2014 01:02

Here is a recent pic at 32w1d. I am so big and baby is measuring a few weeks ahead. Another anxious mum-to-be here miss.

Baby woke up and wriggled around right at the top of my bump yesterday afternoon (I saw it rather than felt it) so he/she was obviously hiding behind my placenta hence the feeling a lack of movement. Thanks for the baby waking tips holls and whiteblossom.

Missb I know it's not the same but my bump looks tiny cause I'm so tall and I am constantly being told that I'm not big enough by all and sundry and that's enough to worry me between appointments so I don't think you are being daft at all, we all just want the best for our babies - it feels like a huge responsibility carrying them around and making sure they are ok. At least once they arrive it's easier to check on them (although I'm sure we will worry just as much).

Eponie I'm getting lots of rib pains too, mainly when I have been sat at my desk for any length of time, baby has still got plenty of room as I said above so it is clearly comfy for them to have their feet up there.....not so much for me!

misog2000 · 17/07/2014 08:13

Posted too soon

Ilove - glad you have an answer for what is causing the labour, fingers crossed they can hold it off for you for a bit longer once the ecoli is treated

Yes, I'm the same EllaBella - really need to buy some essential stuff like nappies, cotton wool and maternity pads so I can start to get my hospital bag packed. I think it definitely needs to be packed by the end of this month in case baby decides to turn up a bit early.

Will try to upload a bump pic. :)

whiteblossom · 17/07/2014 15:25

love the bump pics, will try and get one on tomorrow. Baby has finally moved up, I suddenly realised when I looked in the mirror this afternoon, im hoping this takes the pressure off my bellybutton.

Ive started putting hospital bag together and washing all the new stuff. Which is making it feel really real which sounds daft given that Im 33 weeks on sat!

I finding sleeping flat very uncomfortable so I tried sleeping on a couple of pillows and my v shaped feeding pillow and it was amazing!

My clothes and super tight (non mat, v stretchy) so Ive getting down to two maxi dresses and joggys....

cookielove · 17/07/2014 19:23

This is me in California when I was 27 weeks, I will get up in a min and do a current one!

Topsyloulou · 17/07/2014 22:22

Hope everyone is doing ok in the heat. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter, so pleased I work in an air conditioned office and really feel for those of you that don't. My lovely DP has even fixed up an air conditioning unit in our bedroom. It's the best eBay purchase ever!

Ilove - how are the pains now?

Teabiscuits · 17/07/2014 23:21

Just checking in for the first time in a while, hope everyone is doing ok.

ilove glad you have had at least some kind of answer - I hope this time they've got it right x

missb girls tend to be a bit smaller than boys, try not to worry too much. Our growth scan showed that baby has dropped from about 50th centile at 20 weeks to about the 10th, but they told us this is still normal and not to worry. In my last pregnancy DSs measurements weren't even making it on to the centiles, but because he was gaining with every scan they weren't worried - he was born at 40+1 and weighed 6lb5 so not as small as the scans showed anyway!

Going on holiday in just over a week Grin . Only to Cornwall and I will be 34 weeks when we go but I'm just looking forward to being somewhere else! Plus have in laws coming with us, so can palm the kids off on Grandma and Grandad Smile .

dontevenblink · 17/07/2014 23:36

Not sure if this will work as never posted pic from phone before! But if it does then just took this, I'm 32+4

Yay it worked!
Glad to hear you've seen the consultant ilove and they've given you some answers. Hope you're feeling better. Glad to hear you're feeling better too ella. missbrightside hope you get some proper answers soon.
Enjoy your holiday tea!

I feel for you all in the heat, it was in the 30s for a bit here when I was in the last few weeks of pregnancy with ds2 and I spent most of time stood in front of air con! Opposite problem this time as is winter and I can't get warm! We're even forecast snow at weekend!! Dc4 will be born (if c-section date stays same) on 1st Sep, the first day of spring here :)
