Cookie and ILove hope you are both ok Thanks

I didn't sleep too well last night, but I do think that was just the 'going to work Sunday night blues' as at the minute I am not doing too bad. The only issue is if I do wake up I have to get up and go to the toilet haha.

:( Feel v sorry for those of you with lack of sleep at the mo. I do wake up a bit to roll over as I also get really sore hip/bum area easily but can't complain much more than that. Manage to hold in my wee somehow but by the morning I am busting lol. DH recorded my snoring on his phone last night Blush oops!

I hope it's just because I've had a long day at work and not eaten tea yet but I'm currently laid on the sofa as I just had a quite bad feeling dizzy episode. Really felt like I was going to fall over. Luckily DH was close and I grabbed hold of him. Not nice :(

Hope you're back from the hospital & ok now cookie

ilovemonstersInc · 07/07/2014 19:23

Thank you.

Cookie how are you feeling

OP posts:
cookielove · 07/07/2014 20:17

I'm back from the hospital I waa put on a monitor and the baby was very kicky, his little heart kept speeding up and slowing down so they monitored him for extra to make sure he is ok.

The cramps are still there and they said that if it gets worse to go back, they stop when I lie down so I didn't have any in hospital!

topmammy · 07/07/2014 21:51

Gosh, hope the cramps disappear for you both of you cookie and I love

Hope everyone sleeps better tonight :) Its feeling rather warm here though!

Fairypants · 08/07/2014 07:39

I hope things have settled down overnight cookie and ilove.

ilovemonstersInc · 08/07/2014 08:01

It was typical. As soon as I put the app on to time contractions everything stopped Confused
I see the consultant tomorrow so will get her to check everything again

How is everyone?

Morning,

Hope everyone got some sleep, I'm finding it either too hot, or to uncomfortable to sleep all that well, and youngest is having another of her can't sleep/won't sleep episodes, so it's a bit hit and miss. DH keeps telling me how tired he us, and wondering how on earth we will cope if DD doesn't start to sleep through fully soon, and how the pre-schooler is going to cope sharing a room, with shorty baby! (Tbh) she'd sleep through most things, so I'm hoping it all works out).

Hope things have settled for you cookie and ilove
GD ladies-reading back, don't forget that fat content affects how quickly your sugars rise too, so chips are usually better than say mash potatoe, and chocolate (dare I say it) is better than sweets like haribo.
Trick is, I've found, to reduce carb portions- as they contain high levels of sugars, eat very little white carbs, limit sugar, eat fruit after meals, not as a snack, and increase protein intake and salad stuff.
Oh and as a cheat, if I need a bit of chocolate, I'll always have that early in the morning, after my breakfast level is done, then it almost always is ok again by the pre lunch one Wink
I was told yesterday, that everyone becomes more diabetic as pregnancy progresses, those of us with GD need more help controlling it, but it does mean that the plancenta is working well and therefore it's not so much a bad thing, it just needs to be controlled a bit.

Hi all,

I've been lurking on this thread pretty much everyday since I was just five weeks, and just had the guts to join MN and this board! It feels like I know quite a few of you already Grin

So far, things have gone quite smoothly, other than a horrendous two weeks of morning sickness at the beginning. I'm now 29 weeks with our first and we're expecting a girl.

Found out this morning that Sainbury's does some really nice girls clothes that aren't too girlie and pink. Yay!!!

Holiday? What's one of them? Lol.
Not been away for nearly3 years as ds has just been too poorly.

Wont be going away for at least a year or 2 now otherwise we were planning on going to visit dh family in December but theres no way we are taking a baby on a 10hour flight. Did it with ds when he was a baby but he slept through. I know It will be harder with 3!

Welcome team! Congratulations! A little princess Grin

Welcome teameponine. Am also 29 weeks and expecting a girl (well, 30 weeks tomorrow). Nice to have you on board!

Would also dearly love a holiday but it's not going to happen this year unfortunately, as we just don't have the spare time or money. Sob sob.

Hope all you other ladies with health issues are feeling a bit better. Thanks

Have been told by some of my friends who have kids that a lot of local nurseries (we're in the South-East) have 12 month plus waiting lists for child places (!). As such I'm having to spend my day off e-mailing nurseries and asking their waiting list times etc, as it's possible that in order to have a nursery lined up for when my maternity leave finishes, I'm going to have to put our name down for a nursery already before my maternity leave even starts and before DD is even born!!! It's crazy! Has anyone else in a similar predicament? xxx

TeamEponine · 08/07/2014 16:47

Thanks Ella and KitKat!

We're having a few days away by the coast in the UK in a couple of week's time. I was too scared to fly at this stage, and the thought of being somewhere hot is (for the first time ever!) really off putting.

KitKat - we signed our little one up for the local nursery a couple of months ago! I'm also in the South East and had heard of long waiting lists. The nursery we've gotten her into is very convenient for both work and home, whereas the next nearest one is a good 25 minutes drive in each direction, which would have been a nightmare! It is totally crazy, but if you have limited choices near you or want a specific nursery, it might be worth looking into sooner rather than later. Confused

bugoven · 08/07/2014 17:35

I am so lucky to not have any GD worries and hoping to be a SAHM for at least the early years but today's moan is brought to you by..... issues with Mum =(

I am lucky to have my mum around and at tines she has been a generous and loving source of support. However, she has mental health problems that mean she is sometimes determined to fall out with me and cause upset which she will then only see from her perspective. Today she was putting down my OH's mum (who is a loving and kind lady) and a lack of sleep and hormone overload meant I said "I think you're over thinking this". As a result she called me unkind, burst into tears and hung up on me. I have had my own anxieties and difficulties so can empathise with her but this long awaited pregnancy has made me far less tolerant when she is being unreasonable. Anyone else any experience or advice? I have already sent Mum a loving, peaceful text and don't want to fall out.

topmammy · 08/07/2014 17:36

Welcome tea :)

Tbh I haven't really thought about nurseries yet. I'm further up north though so hopefully waiting lists might not be quite as long... ? Will probably only need to use a nursery once or twice a week at the most anyway so hoping it won't be a problem getting somewhere. I just know I won't want to go back to work though :(

Hope everyone has had a good day. 8 more working days left for me Shock Can't quite believe it!

CumbrianExile · 08/07/2014 18:51

Oh my, havent even thought about nurseries! Might have to look into it soon, although I am further north so hopefully not as busy!

Sorry to hear about your problems with your mum Bug, afraid I have no advice, but hope she doesn't fall out with you once she has calmed down Thanks

Had an annoying day at work today - colleagues seem to have reverted back to the 'same old questions' routine and I was asked at least 10 times 'How long do you have to go?' 'When are you finishing work?' 'Did you find out the sex?' I think I will get a badge for tomorrow!

BooSurprise · 08/07/2014 19:43

Aww ella I didn't mean to scare you! I was diet controlled in my second pregnancy, so although it does worsen! it doesn't necessarily mean you will have to have treatment. I'm feeling dogged off with mine, having just upped my insulin again, and had a dinner with fairly small carbs, and I'm still 8.4 Sad.
bug no advice really! just to stay a step above and continue to be nice! having MH issues shouldn't be an excuse, for her to be difficult or not nice.
kitkat I was also scared into a nursery place early on with DD1, however when I fully looked into it, with the exception of the NHS on site ones, I found that 3 months in advance was plenty, so hopefully that might be the case for you too- also in south east here.
Just 3 shifts left at work, plus a couple of meetings, but seriously I'm already over it! I feel enormous all of a sudden, tired and I can't concentrate on being enthusiastic at work, and I'm only 30 weeks!

boo I found your info really helpful!

kitkat I work in a nursery in the south east, baby has been on waitinfg list for about 3 months but I am guaranteed a place. Going to start looking at other nurserie soon as my place is very expensive and won't give me a discount!

bug how tough it must be for you, not sure on advice but (hug)

Hello team

Had a little bit of cramp today, but nothing like yesterday so hopefully that was the worst of it.

bugoven · 08/07/2014 22:44

Thanks so much for your support ladies. Ella you have said exactly what things are like, that's so reassuring, and I have been through this so many times. I never leave Mum to stew on things and will send another text very soon. Have felt so down all day but looking forward to starting a new day tomorrow =)

Nazly · 09/07/2014 00:01

Haven't been posting for a while now but have been reading every single post- hope you are all OK ladies, another few weeks and babies will be here (8 for me today)

You managed to really scare me, I am In south east and have not thought about nursery! And my ML is really short so should I start getting worried? Won't get a chance to look properly because so many other baby stuff still waiting to be done...
By the way is there s list or something somewhere I could review nurseries? Don't have any idea what is around
