xxmissbrightsidexx · 18/06/2014 18:08

hi ladies just checking in, not been on much as been away for a few days- we had a funeral to go to on OH side of the family. hope everyones okay! xx Brew

27 weeks today, had a scan/consultant appointment, and things are really looking up. consultant couldn't see an echogenic bowel, babys growing perfectly, in fact she weighs 2lb 2oz already! he wants us to have another scan in 4 weeks time but all being well he'll discharge us. was really nice to hear something positive for a change :) even made him check that baby was still a girl, which she is lol. a willy would surely be noticeable by now lol, xx

Inbl00m · 18/06/2014 18:47

Great news missbright - you must be so happy, hope you've got a good evening planned to celebrate!

topmammy · 18/06/2014 18:53

white I just bought the birth preparation natal hypnotherapy cd separately from amazon for about 11. I think there is a little booklet inside too to read. Will start listening to it in a few weeks. I hope its as effective as if I went to an actual hypnotherapy class or teacher!

Had my last antenatal class this afternoon... Its all zooming by!

KatharineClover · 18/06/2014 19:19

I was just going to suggest buying the same thing topmammy :)

xxmissbrightsidexx · 18/06/2014 19:34

I bought the natal hypnotherapy birth preparation cd too, and the book. Just need to actually use them though!

Bit fed up of this heat, mostly just at nighttime thankfully.

karigan · 18/06/2014 21:13

Hi all. Been caught up in teacher training placement as well as my job for last few weeks. :)

Developed really bad pain in coccyx when sitting/lying a few weeks ago. I was referred to a physio and went last Friday. She was lovely but can't do a damn thing (it's all down to extra pressure as well as hips shifting apparently) However I thought I'd pass on that the physio didn't recommend using the ring cushions as they apparently concentrate force downwards - she instead recommended creating two piles of cushions with a 'valley' in the middle and sitting on that instead.

whiteblossom · 19/06/2014 12:00

miss bright so happy for you xx

Katharine Ive just ordered two of the Maggie howell cd's, the birth prep and the relaxation one, Ill see how I get on with those, thanks for the recommendation. Grin Now I need to make room for them on my ipod!

Im suffering with acid reflux after I go to bed, any idea what I can take to prevent that??

whiteblossom · 19/06/2014 12:38

oh shit, Ive just had a phone calls from my GP's receptionist saying that my bloods are back and they indicate raised white blood cell count and want me to have bloods re-done on Monday.

Given that I had mw yesterday and she checked my pee so not a UTI....what the hell could be going on?

Ive got the consultant apt next week on tues so hopefully they will have new results through for then and they can compare and see whats going on. Great a weekend of worry ahead. Sad

whiteblossom · 19/06/2014 12:43

im glad I ordered the stress and relaxation cd then!

Eastwiththem · 19/06/2014 13:12

Probably nothing Whiteblossom. I had a health screening check up a few years ago and got referred for extra tests due to high white blood cells. Went back and levels were still high. Went back again a third time and everything was normal and has been ever since. They reckoned it was a little infection somewhere that I was fighting off well enough to not have any symptoms.

Do you have hayfever? That could cause a heightened immune response as well.

whiteblossom · 19/06/2014 14:21

Thanks east yes I do get hayfever...Its not at all bad this year though. I shall have to wait and see. Other than tiredness I feel alright and tiredness could be normal pg or low iron/b12.

Just had a fight with the vacuum cleaner.

It won.

Teabiscuits · 19/06/2014 16:35

white don't stress too much, if you were harbouring anything really nasty you would almost certainly feel dreadful as well. As long as you feel ok and baby is moving well I wouldn't worry x

whiteblossom · 19/06/2014 16:46

thanks ella & tea baby is moving well and like I say its just the tiredness. fx its nothing. I need that relaxation cd now....should have done next day delivery Grin

chippy or salad for dinner....hmmmm I should probably choose salad.

KitKat1985 · 19/06/2014 17:54

White like others have said there's a good chance it's just something minor (especially if you feel okay in yourself) so try not to worry. Thanks

I've being having some back problems recently. Spoke to GP yesterday who has agreed to make physio referral but in terms of painkillers there's pretty much nothing other than paracetamol I can take (codeine is an option if I get desperate but apparently baby also becomes dependent on it so I have said I don't want it at the moment). Also said to GP about an ear problem I have had recently. Again, there is treatment available but not advised in pregnancy so just going to have to suffer on for the next 3 months. Hmm

Other than that all I want to do is eat!! Especially sugary things. I'm really worried about how much weight I'm going to end up putting on. I've already gained just over a stone and a half, and I've got another 3 months to go yet! Shock

Cindy5389 · 19/06/2014 18:36

White I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Had my 28 week mw appt today. I'm measuring small so may have to go for a growth scan if no difference at next appt in 3 weeks time. I had a different mw today as my normal one was on al. She didn't know how the computer system worked or where anything was bless her.. She didn't seem to concerned about the growth at this stage saying it could be baby's position, but when I got home after work and looked at the chart in my notes, I am below the 10th percentile line by a little way. Anyone knows if this is really bad or not?

Teabiscuits · 19/06/2014 19:44

cindy in all my previous pregnancies I measured up small. With the last one I was so small I had to go for growth scans. They took measurements of the baby, then I was in every 2 weeks for scans until the end. Mine showed that baby was growing, he was just on the small side. They let me go to full term, and he was born at 40+1 and weighed 6lb5, so on the small side, but within normal range. At nearly 39 weeks I was only 32cm, everyone measures differently so try not to worry.

This time I'm measuring bang on for the first time in 4 pregnancies. Slightly concerned that this ones enormous, Considering I'm usually so small Confused .

Inbl00m · 19/06/2014 20:21

white a few consultants spoke to me about raised white blood count when I was hospitalised for a night in early pregnancy (just food poisoning).

They said it's a pretty standard response to having a foreign body, if that's the right term for a baby??, growing in your body so hopefully they just want to double check it's that!

Inbl00m · 19/06/2014 20:23

karigan thanks for the cushions tip, was just about to fork out for a doughnut/ring cushion but will save my pennies Smile

topmammy · 19/06/2014 20:29

Can a stressful day effect babies movements? Had a bit of a full on day today at work and I feel like I've felt less movements, but have felt some. I have been distracted and busy though. Usually in the evening there is more wiggling going on by now so it's making me worry :( Might try eating something sugary and a cold drink.

Days like today make me panic a bit about how I'll manage full time teaching and a small child, as well as housework which I do the majority of. My sociology teacher was right, it really is the triple shift!

Sorry for being moany! Worrying sucks! Where did I put that chocolate....

Nazly · 19/06/2014 22:11

Ladies I am just about to do my maternity leave paper work (I know, it is late, isn't it?) and I was wondering if ML can be extended later?
My plan is to have only 3months of leave and then back to work full time; but I am just thinking what if things don't go to plan, you know, what if something goes wrong, or simply what if I change my mind when I am in the situation... Would I be able to extend my ML then or will I be in trouble? Should I apply for the whole 9 months or whatever it is we get paid for and then If everything went to plan go back to work according to my plan instead?
