coco

I've just caught up.
so sorry to hear and big hugs.

listen, 37 weeks is nothing. baby won't even be technically premature, although might need a bit of ICU/SCBU (sp?) care.
twins are delivered around 36-38 weeks routinely (from memory) so early induction is nothing to worry about. honestly, that is not a big deal.

It's the OC itself that's a worry, especially if not caught or treatment delayed, but now you are being treated so there's every reason to believe that baby will be perfectly fine!Smile

I won't tell you not to worry, of course you are and so would I be (and everyone one of us).
But you are being looked after and that is very reassuring!

btw mine were all late, but NDN had 4 kids, all born early at 35 w, 36 w, 34w and 35 w again, naturally.
another friend had hers sons at 30 & 31 weeks.
scary when so little, but all fine now!

( big hugs )

coco sending huge hugs your way. You are in exactly the right place and your baby should be fine. Well done for following your instincts!

In the meantime feet up for Brew Cake and Flowers

AuntieMaggie · 12/05/2014 16:54

Saw GP today - they don't think it is carpal tunnel after all as its mainly in my knuckles but aren't sure what it is... waiting on physio to call me back...

Ipsumlorem · 12/05/2014 16:57

Ok confession time. I was very very sick this morning but since lunch at 12 I have practically inhaled cereal, cheese toastie, packet of wotsits, 3 choc chip cookies and 6 little m and s hor d'oeuvres Blush I'm still hungry - but only for carbs! Sad I'm hoping this signals a growth spurt and not just pure greed! Blush

Ipsumlorem · 12/05/2014 16:59

Just saw your post - hope you get an answer soon auntie

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 12/05/2014 17:06

Coco just passing by and wanted to say you're in my thoughts. At least you're in the best possible place now, hopefully they'll let you go home before the birth too. Good luck, fingers crossed!

coco808 · 12/05/2014 18:01

Thank you everyone for such kind words! I am really reassured that 37 weeks is not too bad after reading all your posts.
So my liver functions tests are shot. One doctor said he wouldn't take the tablets to stabilize the toxins as the effect on the baby is unknown and the other doctor asked me to take the tablets. When I queried the conflicting advice, they asked me to book an appointment to see my Consultant who wasn't in today. Been on the phone all afternoon but the consultant's secretary and the clinic receptionist would NOT give me an appointment and were so dismissive!!! They said to just wait for a letter in the post which might be 4 weeks!!! In the meanwhile I will be going to the hospital every week for liver function test. Sorry about the rant. Thank God I have obstetric consultant friends in London who I can contact and take advice whether to take the tablets or not. But it isn't really nice, is it?

Now just one last question and then I will stop monopolizing the thread Grin . I've lost weight over the last few weeks and they suspect I will continue to do so as the liver is not processing the fat and protein in diet. Which may mean low birth weight Sad. They reckon it will be around 5lb at birth at 37 weeks. Is that ok? Sounds terribly low to me

mixi82 · 12/05/2014 18:47

5lb seems like a good weight to me for 37wks :)

A few of my friends recently have had babies at due date that were around 6lb or so, plus my mum had my older brother on time and he was 4lb, me 5lb and younger brother 6lb and he was 2wks late. We're all very healthy!

icklekid · 12/05/2014 18:58

Oh coco it doesn't get Any better for you does it Sad glad you've got friends you can ask though. That birth weight doesn't sound too bad...friends have gone full term and still similar birth weight all are fine now -sounds better than a 10lb baby to me!

I'm so tired, not sure what I can do about it needed a nap on sat and sun obviously not possible whilst teaching! Only 9 more days until half term Smile

MrsA2 · 12/05/2014 19:08

Just catching up, Coco really thinking of you but all sounds very positive and well managed (apart from the stupidity over the Consultant booking, how frustrating). Take it very easy.

Shattered today, counting down the weeks now until maternity leave - this is wk 5 - but slightly panicked about the amount of work I need to do first!

AuntieMaggie · 12/05/2014 19:09

coco is it worth contacting your GP to get them to chase your consultant? mine sometimes does that for me if I'm getting no joy or the doctors you've seen at the hospital.

Also, not sure if you can take in pregnancy but milk thistle is supposed to be good for liver.

BlueC2 · 12/05/2014 20:19

Oh Coco so sorry consultants being useless-that's the last thing you need right now!

I've just dropped DM at the airport to fly out to see Gma- feel quite emotional about the whole thing and know DM struggling too - especially as they couldn't afford for my DSDad to go with her. I know I'm partly emotional as just exhausted after my lack of sleep last night but just feel :(

coco808 · 12/05/2014 21:36

Thank you everyone about the birth weight reassurance! I can feel the stress leaving me a bit after reading all your feedbacks. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

great idea about the gP, maggie, she is lovely so might be able to help!

Oh blue I feel for you, take care x

icklekid · 12/05/2014 22:05

So sorry that your going through this blue thinking of you Thanks

coco glad we're helping.

In need of a proper mn moan the last 20 mins..

Felt sick
Was sick
brushed teeth
Was sick
Brushed teeth
You get the idea
Had nose bleed!

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 12/05/2014 22:22

Just to add coco that my DS was born at 41 weeks at just over 6lb so 5lb at 37 weeks sounds ok. I hope you manage to get proper non-conflicting advice about your tablets. At a time like now you don't really need the extra stress checking if you can take them or not.

Blue thinking of you. Thanks

BlueC2 · 13/05/2014 04:22

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Coco glad you're feeling a bit more reassured.

It's currently 4am ish and I'm wide awake-grrr (again!). Bump not behaving itself-with transverse lie baby basically doesn't like me lying down on my side as I squash either it's head or bottom so it wriggles to wake me up-move Mummy!! Not helpful! Sooo I've just checked work emails and started updating the house budget-what every 'normal' person does at 4am Hmm will try and sleep again soon.

mixi82 · 13/05/2014 09:09

Hey blue just read your post about baby squishing! I'm going through the same thing at the moment, posted a thread about it on another forum here but it got taken the wrong way.....SIGH!!

My only comfy position is being on my right side but baby kicks and wriggles like mad as if to say, you're squashing me, get off!! You don't think we are squishing bubba do you?? I need sleeeeeeeep and worrying about baby keeps me awake :(

BlueC2 · 13/05/2014 09:57

mixi I think baby will be ok-i remember DS although head down had a definite preference for me to lie on my right side and not my left-he's just a stubborn little man! Funnily enough after I'd posted and went back to bed baby had either moved or gone to sleep as didn't moan/kick at all so I got some sleep. I think they'll move if they're uncomfortable but will first try and get us to move :)

DM has arrived safely so just waiting for news on Gma now.

ickle sorry you've been so sick again-not fun!

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 13/05/2014 12:15

I really hate the teeth brushing vomits. Have taken to only brushing once a day and flossing later on. Dentist says teeth are ok so to just carry on best I can.

Had awful sicky tired day yesterday so no work done, have so much to do and really cannot be bothered today. Have to go into office tomorrow and really need to work today but currently on sofa with popcorn. argh!

BlueC2 · 13/05/2014 12:27

Anyone else seen this thread on socket covers I'm about to go and take all of ours out- hadn't realised they actually made the sockets more dangerous Blush

Right...must stop surfing and get on with some work!

fifi669 · 13/05/2014 12:35

Check your covers first. If you see what I've posted you could stick anything in the earth to open the shutters. I think it's more likely a child would poke something in two if the holes than take off a cover, turn it upside down, plug it in the earth and then poke something in another hole....

Ipsumlorem · 13/05/2014 13:21

blue hope everything goes well with your mum and grandma.

Had morning sickness this morning and have a sinus infection today - sore ears, throat, face Sad Have resorted to paracetamol and ribena for vit c. Its been coming on for a while but thought id dodged the worst of it. Instead of working am on sofa with the dog Sad Have soooo much to do but just can't move atm. Must do a bit later tonight.

BlueC2 · 13/05/2014 14:19

ips if there's a chance it might be sinusitis get yourself to the docs for some antibiotics! I haven't felt as ill as I did with that the other week for a long long time and paracetamol barely touches the pain. Hope you feel better soon

Patchworking9til5 · 13/05/2014 14:51

coco hope you've had some joy via the gp. How are you feeling? Symptoms still bad? Just hope you're not in pain or too uncomfortable.

To all those early July people why is time running so quickly now?!! 7 weeks to go for me, which seems such a small number Confused Have realised I should start packing the bag, for some reason this has been missed from my great organisation levels! I'm sure some of you started ages ago...my main tip picked up from nct is that you can never have enough pillows and cushions!

Ipsumlorem · 13/05/2014 15:14

I've a midwife app tomorrow anyway blue so hoping to get one then from my gp. I do suffer mildly from them from time to time anyway but think it needs an antibiotic because my phlegm is sticky green and has traces of blood in it Sad Had to start work as I've a bit I need to get done for a dealine Sad Hoping I'll be finished soon and can relax tonight again.

ps sorry for whining but it's sore stamps feet in childish fashion
