Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kittywits · 30/08/2006 18:12

Penny, I'm end of March sometime.
Although I'm Often 3 weeks late, well I'm not, it's just my children have no idea of decent time keeping !!!

morocco · 30/08/2006 22:59

hi all, welcome to newbies, it's great the way this group grows and grows.
pleased to hear dd1's appt went so well, eidsvold - you must be delighted! I guess it's good that they know to look for a heart prob on the scan too, at least it will get checked unlike the old days before scans.
how long are you back for, laidbackinasia? It's cold and wet up north - hope it's better down south for you.
no news here except I think I am 'blooming'. hurrah, about bl**dy time, didn't manage it for last 2 pregnancies. But I have more energy, skin looks less grey and more pink, and I'm not feeling sick. I'm quite chuffed really. Long may it last.
love to all

edd 13.3.07, ds1 3, ds2 2

LaidbackinAsia · 31/08/2006 06:55

Hi morocco - I am back for 5 weeks - hoorah !

Hoping to be blooming by then too MS appears to have gone (although I said that last week and it came back !) BUT this week I am weeping at the drop of a hat...DH was so lovely last night and was just holding me and saying - 'it's all going to be alright ' - I didn't even know why I was crying !! Weird - I feel very happy !? Is anyone else an emotional wreck ??

Good morning everyone, how are you all today, iim feeling a bit better but woke up with really painful ribs, mainly in my right side, im not sure if this is part of the pregnancy or if i just slept wrong???

Piffle · 31/08/2006 10:28

Hi everyone, great to see we're still getting some new mums to be on here!
And more twins How exciting and awe inspiring!
I'm feeling ok. No puking for nearly 2 weeks, was very bad at 8 weeks though. Now nearly 11 weeks I think (must check I'm total div at dates like this) edd 23/3 anyway up.
I am getting on/off nausea but am coping ok. Getting plenty of rest
Next week will be a killer, dd back at her pre school at 9am, ds back at secondary school.
How I am going to get out of the house I'm not quite sure yet....

novadandypowder · 31/08/2006 10:54

Penny - I'm 28th March by dating scan dates, so very of all those ladies feeling better and in the second trimester already. Saying that DD came 3 wks early, and I'll be very miffed if this one doesn't put in an early appearance too. Still soooo sick, and was sick til 28wks last time, so just taking each day as it comes. However, now someone has mentioned Walkers french fries I must go and find some - I really fancy the worcester sauce flavour (do they even still exist??)

Welcome to the newbies - we have a stats thread if you're able to put your details on that, then maybe we can keep tabs on everyone (I've lost track already...)

divastrop · 31/08/2006 11:40

hello every1.i had my dating scan today,im 12+1 apparantly now,i thought i was at least 12+3.im a bit bewildered now i think its only just hitting me that im going to have a baby...again.

fatfox · 31/08/2006 12:43

Hi everyone and for all those still suffering from MS

Welcome Annapanna and Oooooogs - anna, when I was pregnant with DD, I just used to lie on the bed and put lots of toys on the floor for DS, so he could play happily next to me without me having to do much When DD was born he was fascinated by her. He did stand on her once, but I won't go into that... he used to jump on me when I breastfed her . Eventually he got the message and stopped doing that though, thankfully. They're best of friends now - or rather partners in crime

OOgs congrats on your twins news WOW!

My MS had nearly gone 4 me now, managing to go up to 5 hours withoput food at a stretcch, but still totally exhausted.

Penny - I also lived on plain crisps and liquorice for a couple of weeks. I've a weakness for that Australian soft liquorice, which I'm sure is very fattening.

Mahide - nice to see you, I know just what you mean about being too tired to do anything. Its overwhelming isn't it?

Jaysecond · 31/08/2006 16:00

Who ever mentioned Woustershire sauce crips has a lot to answer too, i have sent DH out to try and find some!!!! bless him and he went! i just have to have some now, we nearky got into ww3 over it!!!

Anyway, hows everyone? Few newbeeies again! Welcome welcome to the growing masses of us, March is going to be a bumper month!

Diva, i too had my first scan today, they put me at 12 +6 which means my EDD is now March 9th, little earlier than i thought, but sonographer said , as i had only had to AF since birth of last baby the hospital will take scan dates more so than my dates.... anyway i dont care, whats a few days.

few details;

crown - rump - 67.5 mm
Nuchal translucency - 2.2mm ( bit higher than DD but still in range)

equates to 1:53 risk of DS
and 1:2011 risk of other chromosome abnormalities, so basically all is good. When they do an adjustment with the nuchal translucency it brings my age down to a 32 yr old, i am 35 so no further testing required or recommended.

Saw a VERY active bean, springing about all over the place, it wouldnt keep still for the measurments, then when it did it wasnt in the right place, so i had the joy of being n there for about 30 mins! i didnt mind, saw its heart , and brain, spine and hands, it even stretched out its little legs for me... it was so lovely, i feel like i can relax a bit now i know its all ok ... pheweeee. off out for Tapas with the antenatal girls ( from DD ) for a farewell meal tonight, might even have a glass of wine to celebrate!

Love to all xx

fatfox · 31/08/2006 16:30

Jaysecond

After reading the crisps message, I also ran out and bought some crisps

So glad your scan went well. Was the 1:53 a misprint? Did you mean 1:530?

Mine was 1:559 and was told it was the risk of a 31 year old. (I'm 43 so was well pleased )

Its SUCH a relief isn't it - I was so worried before my scan.

You can gave at your beany pic now and enjoy your pregnancy. Have you told people that you're PG yet?

Jaysecond · 31/08/2006 17:36

oops {blush] yes it was 1:533, not as i put it.. oops

yes we had told a few people about it but now we have told just about everyone!

I can breath now!

DollyP · 31/08/2006 17:37

Glad your scan went well Jaysecond. It must be a relief. Mine's not for another 2 weeks - feel very behind on this thread sometimes!

Went to the Dr's today and had a little weep. The Dr shed a tear in sympathy and signed me off work for 2 weeks. Feel relieved that at least I can rest a bit and take it easy without having to battle the nausea in public. Hope the other poorly ladies are feeling a bit better today. Must say that the idea of worcester sauce crisps is not for me today.

DD has been a bit of a challenge today. Will try your tip Fatfox for entertaining her whilst I lie on the bed. Does anyone else have any tips for coping with a 17month child whilst feeling pants? She refused her normal nap then had melt down at about 4.30pm. She's now conked out in bed but I feel ragged. How will I manage with 2? I really take my hat off to those of you with lots of children. You must have the patience of a saint! I had several sense of humour failures before it was even 12pm and I've only got one!

Hope all is well

Jaysecond · 31/08/2006 17:39

by the way DH couldnt find woustershire flavour crips (crap) so i got prawn cocktail which were equally as yummy!!!

fatfox · 31/08/2006 17:53

Mine were hoola hoops

Dolly - I find it easier with two because the older one now understands when I say "Mummy is sick" and he entertains the younger one

Mind you, by "entertains" I usually mean choosing which DVD to put on next

Put your feet up and make the most of the time over the next two weeks - make sure you get lots of daytime naps if you need them

pennygaff · 31/08/2006 19:07

novadandypowder, fatfox, & Jaysecond Sorry I sent you all on a French Fries Quest, I really want the Worchester Sauce flavour But I can't find them either!, Promise to post here for all when I do track them down. Bet it will be in one of those snack vending machines down my local swimming baths. In that case I need everyones Ten Pences and about 3 hours.
On another note does anyone find they are getting headaches? I get them on a night (for past week) and I'm worried about blood pressure although my MW said on the phone its unlikely at my stage (11wks) I drink loads of water and I think it might be down to the fact my Eyesight has suddenly got worse, what are your experiences?

divastrop · 31/08/2006 19:26

its alot easier having older ones as well as a toddler..when i was expecting dd2 last year ds2 was only 22months but i would get the older 2 to play with him while i lay down, and they were instructed to pour cold water over my head if i fell asleep.i cant remember how i coped when i was pg with dd1,ds1 was only 11 months old when she was born, and their father was a @*&^head so i was pretty much on my own.im sure i'll remember what it was like when dd2 starts crawling...
are nuchal(?) translucency scans standard practise in other areas or r they only offered if ur in a high risk group?

TheBlonde · 31/08/2006 19:43

Hi all, still feeling pretty bleurgh here

divastrop - nuchal is standard here in London

annaspanna · 31/08/2006 20:02

Thanx for the advise fatfox. I'm interested in your scan results & Jaysecond because i don't remember having the nuchal fold test to give you an age IYKWIM. Was it a special Nuchal fold scan? I'm a pauper from the west midlands so can't shell out I'm afraid. If its like last time i shall just be having the NHS on the couch & off beauty where you can't see the screen & have to beg for a picture or any information whatsoever!! i'M 34 so would have thort higher risk???

kittywits · 31/08/2006 20:50

Fatfox you been fighting with anyone lately?

morocco · 31/08/2006 21:33

kids are driving me mad today - I can't wait til nursery is back on. ds2 starts for a few mornings so I'll actually get some time all to myself. before getting preggers I wondered what I would do - ha! now I know - sleep!! I want to try and change them to an afternoon nursery session so I can get a kip then.
ds1 was 17 months when ds2 was born. For the last few months, I'm sure I used to doze on the sofa while he watched telly. I'd kind of lock us in and put everything dangerous away. Then after ds2 arrived, it was really hard work at first but got easier once ds2 got through the first few months. ds1 used to bite me when I was bf ds2! I hope they'll both be much better than that this time round cos they'll jsut be that bit older - helping with nappies/clothes and that kind of thing. And ds2 never need entertaining like ds1 did - he just liked watching his brother.

flannelettepyjamas · 01/09/2006 05:04

I was wondering about how I would cope with the 22 month age gap we'll have too. At the moment (with a 15 month old DD) there's certainly no sitting around even for a luxury 2 minutes, let alone for 45 minutes of feeding.
I keep thinking of a friend who had twins and then another when the twins were 13 months old!
Yikes!
Welcome to all the new preggie mums.
Is this the largest antenatal thread in the history of Mumsnet?

cazboldy · 01/09/2006 09:11

Morning everyone.......this is the first time I have woken up and not felt sick/been sick for about 3 weeks so am going to make the most of it and do some much needed cleaning. Congrats to any newbies! x

Booboobedoo · 01/09/2006 11:38

Morning everyone.

I wasn't sick this morning either. Rah. (Fingers crossed for the rest of the day).

Pennygaff: sorry to hear about your headaches. Only sympathy from me, I'm afraid: no helpful info. I do know that pre-eclampsia is very unlikely this early on in the pregnancy.

Feel sorry for all of you coping with little ones and MS. Watched my 36 weeks PG friend coping with her 2 and a bit year old boy the other day (I was too sick to do much), and thought about you all.

I'm starting back to work next Saturday. Bit worried, as I run my own school, and I'm very behind in all my prep as I've been so ill all summer.

Keep tellng myself that it'll all be ok, and once I've had the baby this stuff'll seem so much less important.
