by the way it's occurred to me is it mega selfish and insensitive to still be using this thread to chat away about our bumps bfps etc when we are in conception. as it's really just the 3 of us do you think we should move to pregnancy or antenatal?

OP posts:
woodwaj · 28/11/2014 13:23

Ooh thanks ill look later! Yeah we can do. I will give it a go?!

woodwaj · 28/11/2014 15:31

Broody, they said they won't change it for me because its your decision as the op (even though the message above this one shows it's your suggestion!! Hmm)

I will leave it in your capable hands

broodysnoopstie · 28/11/2014 19:29

So, I've been thinking about you ladies for the last couple of weeks, I'm so sorry to have disappeared, it's a little hectic with mini V but that's no excuse at all. I think of you all a lot actually.

Anyways, I thought I'd check in and see how you were getting on and OMG........one I am sooooooooooooo bloomin happy for you!!! I've only read back a few posts but i'm already sat here in tears! (Those hormones are still going strong) I'm so very pleased to hear your exciting news!!! Wishing you and mini one all the very best indeed. Enjoy that first scan

And broody and wood I'm so pleased to see your bumps are coming along nicely, just brilliant!!

Glad I checked in now otherwise I wouldn't have been able to find you in ante-natal.

Mini v is upstairs sleeping at the moment, she's almost 6 months, has sprouted some teeth and is rolling about and generally becoming a little person which is amazing. Trying to crawl but not strong enough yet.

I'm so pleased I checked in and I hope you find this post before you move to the new board. Sorry again for being AWOL but so fab that you all got there! Wishing you all the very best for your pregnancies and let 2015 be a very happy year indeed for all of you :)

woodwaj · 29/11/2014 21:30

Ahh vicky!! I am so glad you checked in!! I was thinking it would be perfect if you did!! Are you looking forward to your first Christmas with your little family? Im glad you're all doing well!!

Yes, really looking forward to christmas thanks, mini v won't really have a clue this year but I've still been buying lots of pressies :) can't wait to get the tree up.....and have a glass of wine or two (sorry!!), I was sober last year so know what that feels like :)

Bet you're looking forward to christmas too, with bump. I can't believe your due date is so close, time flies!

One, best of luck tomorrow evening for your scan will be thinking of you and will have everything crossed

woodwaj · 02/12/2014 07:50

Haha! I'm here! OMG it was AMAZING!!!!!! Grin Measuring bang on dates, good heartbeat, s/he even did a little wiggle for us, it was hilarious!!! Still can't quite believe it but starting to let myself now, and as a result I can't take this ridiculous grin off my face!!! Grin

woodwaj · 02/12/2014 09:17

Thats brilliant one i am so happy for you!! And how did your midwife appointment go? How many weeks did they measure you at? So many questions!! Did you get a picture?
Vicky i may be sober but people are starting to come in work with monster hangovers and i must admit i am enjoying it!! Haha!

Whooping cough vaccine Thursday for me. Is it a big nasty one?!

broodysnoopstie · 02/12/2014 14:48

Eeek hello ladies I must check in more often!

wood I know what you mean about nothing fitting and being grumpy. I've got a dinner thing with dp on Friday and I couldn't be less excited. I haven't had whooping cough vaccine I must ask gp about that. had flu jab but no one has mentioned whooping cough! let me know what it's like!

vicky Yay I'm so glad you found us! mini v 6 months old no way! teeth, rolling, & nearly crawling I can't believe it! I know what you mean about excitement of 1st Christmas and buying pressies even though they don't know what's going on!! I did that for my neice last year just sooo irrisistable!

one woo hoo your scan sounds perfect I had that grin on my face for a good couple of days afterwards I just loved our first scan it was soo reassuring and exciting. aww I'm so happy for you and us all!!

I've spent most of the day at my hospital bit of a long story but the news is I've got Obstetric cholestasis which is the liver making too much bile salts (I think) and is making me itch...My results were really high so they've prescribed me tablets to start taking straight away to help.. they have done more liver related blood tests and ive got to phone for those results after 4.

I've been on a trace for an hour this morning and they are happy with beanies size heartbeat and movements. Grin

The diabetes consultant isn't happy with my blood sugar results being so changeable though and because of liver can't give me tablets so they are giving me insulin. I have to be back in diabetes unit at 3.30 to get pen to inject.. Confused

This all means they want me induced by 37/38 weeks. And I can't have a water birth :(

I said I hadn't planned to start maternity until 38 weeks she said you will need to move it earlier as you won't still be pregnant at 38 weeks! !

I'm 32 weeks on Thursday so that seems really really close!

think that's me up to date for now!

xx

OP posts:
woodwaj · 02/12/2014 15:20

Broody i booked in whooping vaccine myself at my docs got to be done between 28 and 38 weeks. I think it needs time to work so id ask at the hospital whilst you're there if they still recommend it what with everything going on!!

Sounds like one hell of a day! Glad that baby is happy where they are and i hope it stays that way. I did presume they would induce early because of the GD but didn't think it would rule out a water birth :( have you thought about an alternative like tens? Not as glamorous i know :(

have a think about not going back to work from 2nd Jan if my mind is working (its prob not) i think that takes you to around 37 weeks? Its a lot to take in! Keep us posted.

I read the part of the thread where we got our bfps yesterday it made me smile!! Not long now!

Vickyvix2 · 02/12/2014 17:28

Oh One, how amazing for you! Fantastic fantastic news, those first scans are precious I am so pleased it went well. Now you can sit back and smile, the weeks will pass by quickly.

Wood, the whooping cough vaccine was ok for me. I had it around 30 weeks I think and apart from a slightly sore arm the next day I didn't suffer, but I know some of the mums in my antenatal group had it and got ill afterwards, just a high temp and feeling rotten for a few days so nothing major but I hope you don't suffer. I would definitely have it though as it protects you now and baby once it's born for those first few weeks.

Broody, that sounds like a traumatic day! Sorry to hear you've got GD and also the OC, that's a bit of a worry but so good they have diagnosed it. So it sounds like you don't have long to go then!! Exciting times!

It's a pain you won't be able to have the water birth you wanted (I wanted one of those too) but some things can't be helped. Don't worry yourself with scary induction stories either. I was induced at 36 weeks and it was fine, took a few days but really was still a positive experience for me. If you've got any questions about induction feel free to ask I'll be happy to help :)

broodysnoopstie · 02/12/2014 17:48

Wood I asked they said I can still have it just to book at my gp for it so think I will. I'll defo look at hiring a tens now and see how things go..

vicky Thanks love idea of induction is a bit scary. Did you have an epidural?

It is good they've picked it all up and are monitoring me and means it suddenly seems really soon when I'll meet little beanie! Grin

OP posts:
woodwaj · 02/12/2014 18:21

I was perfectly fine from the flu jab i dont know why i seem to think this one will be any different. In the back of my mind i know my boss will be an arse if i end up ill (even though she is off ill!!) And its a bit off putting! Defo having it though its so worth it.

I haven't done a birth plan yet but mine will say all the drugs + Epidural!! Haha. I think if you go in with a positive attitude towards an induction hopefully it won't be so bad. Everyone is different i ignore anyone that feels the need to share horror stories when i haven't asked!!

So whats the plan now? Are you having to go back more often or will the midwife look after you?

broodysnoopstie · 02/12/2014 18:28

Plan now is see consultant once a week and not see midwife at all. They can monitor liver, diabetes and baby all in same clinic so said no point going to midwife especially as I won't be allowed into mlu and will have to go to labour Ward. They'll be making all decisions so just seeing them from now on.
