New thread ladies. I should really leave it to someone who can link the old one. Can someone add the edd list and whatnot? Or maybe we should start again now edds are changing after scan.

Sad mum2kiss that's really shitty. I hope they get the referral through soon. That happened to me last time I think. I remembered a good exercise yesterday (still haven't dug out my physio notes) holding the worktop stand with your feet in line with your hips and push your bum out so that you can feel a stretch in the arch of your back. Those muscles are very important for keeping your pelvis stable. Repeat 10 times a day or whenever you're waiting for the kettle to boil. Expect amusement and joy from your husband. Grin
When you do get to physio they will offer you the opportunity to buy a pelvic support belt. Hideous but so worthwhile. They're around £25 though so warning you now! They'll give you a tubigrip for your bump which is really worth wearing too, makes a big difference with the pulling pains as your bump grows, if I didn't wear one for a day I knew about it by the evening. I can see it being a pita if we have a hot summer though. feckin bound to aren't we, the first blood day year I don't want one

TroubleAndFyfe · 11/04/2014 11:18

blood day = bloody

TroubleAndFyfe · 11/04/2014 11:32

I'm going in to work for a meeting today (2 hour train journey) and I've just had to eat half my lunch. So hungry! I really want the rest of it but that will cause further problems at lunchtime!

magichandles · 11/04/2014 11:36

I'm the same at the moment Trouble - I basically have to have two (small) lunches, on at around 1130 and then one around 1330 - I can't manage on one!

binkybunny · 11/04/2014 11:40

Is everyone else having a 16 week appointment? I had an 8 week midwife one, my 12 week scan at the hospital and now nothing until my 20 week scan then the next Midwife appointment is 24 weeks.

Everyone else seems to be having 16 week appointments, I feel left out!

magichandles · 11/04/2014 11:46

Yes, I've got an appointment with the consultant's team at 13 weeks, MW at 16 then another GTT at 20 weeks and then I guess I'll have my anomaly scan around 22 weeks.

MundayCakes85 · 11/04/2014 12:30

Afternoon all! Glad to hear more good scans and sorry for those still feeling a little grim.
Had my 16 week appointment today and heard baby's heart beat (~150) as well as the placenta and baby wiggling and kicking, even though I can't feel anything yet!
Binky check your book of notes, it should give you a list of appointments, you need to ring up and book your 16 week one

robindeer · 11/04/2014 13:30

All good at the scan this morning, baby very wriggly and even waved at us! So exciting!

binkybunny · 11/04/2014 13:34

Munday I checked the list the midwife gave me and there's nothing between the 12 week scan and 20 week scan at the hospital and my midwife appointments are 12 weeks then 14.

Just feels like a very long time without seeing anyone!

Great news robin You'll be on a high for the rest of the day now! Grin

mrsb87 · 11/04/2014 13:36

binky you normally have to ring and make your 16wk appointment yourself at your surgery.

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 11/04/2014 13:37

My next ob/gyn appointment is at 16 weeks, but she's already warned me she won't do a scan, so I guess it'll just be a bp/urine/weight check. Is a 16 wk appt routine in the UK, or is it a private scan that some of you are choosing to have?

I had my in depth 12 week scan yesterday. Everything looked good, all soft markers there, but I have to wait until Monday for the blood test results and my individual risk calculation. I'm feeling relieved, though, especially as so many people already know I'm pg.

The dr sent me to the toilet just before the scan and said it should be done with an empty bladder which surprised me. I asked DH later (he's a gastroenterologist) and he said scanning through a full bladder is easier than scanning through the small intestine, because ultrasound waves pass easily through liquid but not through gas (if your bladder is full it pushes the intestine out of the way of the uterus). He said it's possible to push the intestine out of the way with the ultrasound probe - guess that's why the dr pressed really hard yesterday.

Sorry to hear some people are still feeling awful. I'm feeling a lot less nauseous, but have horrible hayfever and am sleeping really badly because of that. I really, really don't want to take anything for it while pg though, so am praying for a really rainy day!

Loulou888 · 11/04/2014 13:57

My scan was good too. Baby was waving away! Edd 10th oct

Loulou888 · 11/04/2014 13:58

Typo on phone sorry 20th oct!

pebble82 · 11/04/2014 14:01

Scan all went well for me, very wriggly baby and much friendlier staff than last time so feeling much better about the hospital choice now. EDD changed to 14th Oct.

Me23 · 11/04/2014 14:23

binky here's a link to the shedule of antenatal appointment usually there is an appt to see me at 16 weeks. If mw won't see you then you can always make appt with your gp for an antenatal check up.

I think I've pulled a muscle in my back, really hurts from Middle of shoulder blade down my right arm. Hope it goes away soon so annoying and painful.

Me23 · 11/04/2014 14:34

Mw not me

Shall we start a new list with updated Edds on?

mrsb87 · 11/04/2014 14:44

Sounds good me.
Mine is 29th September. I feel like a fraud being here now!

TroubleAndFyfe · 11/04/2014 14:47

Yay for good scans! Smile
binky I didn't have one at 14 weeks but have one booked for 16 weeks, could it be that your 14 week one is instead of the 16?
Poor you me23, that sounds painful! I watched the business of being born last night btw, really enjoyed it. The full documentary is on YouTube for anyone else interested.

RebeccaCloud9 · 11/04/2014 14:49

I can I join? Edd 26th Oct x

binkybunny · 11/04/2014 15:24

Just spoke to my MW, they don't do a scheduled 16 week appointment here unless there's a particular reason they need to see you after bloods, scan etc and mine were all okay. So just got a mahoosive long wait until the 20 week scan (which we are having at nearly 22 weeks due to DH being away with work).

I suppose I should be happy that they are happy with all my test results!

Sounds good having a new list me. Mine has changed to 10 October, but it's only a day or so out from the original date anyway.

Me23 · 11/04/2014 15:56

Welcome Rebecca is this your first baby? Have you had your scan yet?

Me23 · 11/04/2014 16:00
