Travis, my scan is a week on Thursday and I'm super nervous. We haven't bought anything yet but have been making a list and thinking about stuff we need over the last week, I want to be positive and excited but I just feel like I can't let myself yet. Also, this is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure if I'm feeling movement or not. Some days I feel stuff going on in there, but then I think it's just my stomach doing stomach things? I just want everything to be OK at the scan and to start feeling proper movement. And to start really showing. It feels like a really in between kind of time.

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 08:36

Thanks Knights I'll see about getting an appointment. It got so bad last night that I actually thought I was going to have to get DH to drive me to hospital to see if there was anything at all they could do for me but I eventually found that 2 paracetamol and a warm gel pack on my neck gave some relief. Still really sore around my eyes this morning though, which would fit with a sinus infection, I believe?

I need to get a sling too, will have to look into that Kari Me one, we live in a flat in town so a sling would be much more convenient for quick trips than lugging the pram down the stairs (we've no lift)

Hope everyone's scans go well, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about (don't remind me I said that when it's my turn!) my scan is still too far away to think/worry about yet.

eurochick · 11/03/2014 10:06

I'm also nervous about the scan. I'm nervous about everything about this pregnancy! After taking so long and so much to get here, I still can't quite believe it will all work out. Because of early bleeding and the Harmony test, I had 5 scans between 6 and 12 weeks, so the wait between the 12 and 20 week scans seems interminable! Mine won't be until mid-April as I'm bringing up the rear of this AN club. I have a mw appointment on Monday and am really hoping that she can find the heartbeat. I'm hoping it will all be a bit easier in a few weeks when I can feel movement.

Talking of which, when did you all first feel movement and what did you feel?

Owlysims · 11/03/2014 10:17

Lost you all for a while which made me realise I haven't posted for ages!! Hope you're all doing well.

Sling talk: my daughter loved being in her sling, my neck didn't but was definitely worth the purchase me and dh used it a lot in early days (he loved the attention he got when wearing it BlushGrinGrin)

I started feeling movements a few weeks ago, not often though and remained the same, mainly at night felt a few times during the day but not lots! (I'm 17+4 now)

I have the midwife in less than an hour where she has said she will listen in to the heart beat...hope she finds it quickly. Taking dd (3yo) with me think she'll love it, she loves doctors!!

Any scans today/this week? Mine is two weeks on Friday...coming up quickly!! Grin

Knight - check this link out for sling libraries: ukslinglibraries.wordpress.com/find-a-sling-library-near-you/

memedragon · 11/03/2014 10:26

I started feeling what I think is movement about a week ago, so 17 weeks. Honestly thought it could just be gas and other such things. I don't know. It sort of feels like muscle twitches and popping bubbles. It happens around the middle of the day, sometimes quite a lot. But not every day. I have come to the conclusion that some of it probably is the baby and some of it probably isn't.

flymo79 · 11/03/2014 10:27

good luck at the midwife appt Owly, hope you hear that heartbeat loud and clear!

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 10:28

I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat at my next appointment, I haven't felt any movement yet. I've heard a few people say that it feels like butterflies but lower down, a kind of fluttery feeling. I was poking my belly in the bath last night trying to encourage movement to see if I could feel anything, but nada so far.

flymo79 · 11/03/2014 10:42

I'm off to the spa on sunday, so excited (but a bit wary of looking like a right podge monster in front of skinny friends! Normally I would have spent weeks doing situps and running but that's all out the window and instead have, ahem, indulged a bit too much).

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 10:47

It's not podge flymo it's baby... that's what I keep saying and everyone believes it Grin

lucyfluff · 11/03/2014 11:18

Hiya ladies just popping in quickly Smile hope everyone is ok.

I have a Bjorn sling/carrier thingy which we used a few times with DS3 but to be honest I preferred the carrycot and letting him wriggle around PLUS its going to be summer and I dont want to feel too hot. I may use it for school runs occasionally again if ds is being a lazy bum and dosent want to walk. Im rambling now Wink

Feeling nervous about my scan too, sorted childcare yesterday so glad we can go on our own and concentrate lol. I just hope its all ok and healthy. I have been feeling definite movements for about a week now 16+3, and its def reassured me on days when I dont feel as pregnant. My boobs still hurt so much too Sad

Looking forward to hearing everyones scan news Smile

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 11:19

I must be the last of us to get their 20 weeks scan (17th April)

Secretlypregnant · 11/03/2014 11:26

Disney, Mrs Garlic is on the same day as you, so you two will be rounding things off for the group! Smile

Owlysims · 11/03/2014 11:35

midwife was lovely and got dd to turn on machine and turn it up so she was involved and she even pumped up the thing for my blood pressure! Was very sweet! Dd was saying 'I can hear baby!!' And also midwife assumed I had been feeling movements (which I have) so god knows why some of the other midwifes have been dismissing movements as gas!!!

Owlysims · 11/03/2014 11:51

Oh and also...didn't ask what heart beat was but looked in notes and under hb it says 125 is that it? Sounds low! Does that mean boy??!!

eurochick · 11/03/2014 12:00

Disney, I haven't booked mine yet but will be that week, so we can both bring up the rear.

DreamPhone · 11/03/2014 12:31

Afternoon ladies!

Thanks for the advice re. slings - will definitely look into the Kari Me one and also, sling libraries! I had no idea they existed Smile

I hope all the upcoming midwife appointments go well - fingers crossed for nice strong heartbeats all round.

flymo A spa day sounds absolutely lush! I can't think of anything nicer right now than being in a steam room.

I've got my 20 week scan on Thursday next week, feeling very nervous but excited. Still doesn't feel totally real so will be lovely to see the bubba on screen again.

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 12:55

Yay! I'll not be completely on my own Smile I had to book my 20 week scan at my 12 weeks one, so I feel like I've been waiting for ages.

We've booked a week away in a spa hotel in May and they have an adult only spa, me and DH are going to spoil ourselves. I can't wait to get the mum to be body treatment.

Cazbg · 11/03/2014 13:25

So reassuring to hear I am not the only one getting nervous about the 20 week scan : ) Mine is not till 3 weeks Friday when I will be about 21 weeks (as on holiday the week before).

Not feeling any movement yet either which also makes me nervous. trying to resist using the Doppler as it is very hit and miss if I hear the heartbeat mainly as the bump seems to be constantly moving around away from it (midwife confirmed this!).

Headache wise - mine seem to have passed now they were really bad from about 13 - 16 weeks :)

DisneyDiva87 · 11/03/2014 13:32

I'm 16 weeks on Thursday! I hope mine pass then too Cazbg, I'm actually going spare, the next available Dr's appointment isn't till nest Thursday!

Cazbg · 11/03/2014 13:35

I found with mine is was mainly tiredness and screens, make sure you eat little and often and drink lots of water. Fingers cross they go soon :)

eurochick · 11/03/2014 14:18

I just made my 20 week scan appointment for the 15th April.

Mitchell81 · 11/03/2014 14:32

I'm also that week. I'm the 14th April.

weeza13 · 11/03/2014 16:26

Euro, I worried about not feeling movement from baby but found out I have low anterior placenta and it may be another 2-3 weeks before I feel baby move.I am 20 weeks now so it feels ages away but in a way its something to look forward to as next thing is mw app on march 16th which is over a month away. Having 20wk scan did really put my mind at ease though finding out why I had not felt movement and everyone else seemed to weeks ago. I am sure everything will be fine but worrying is part of it!

HungryHorace · 11/03/2014 17:36

I'm also worried about my scan. I'm another member of the anterior placenta club, which I'm hating. I felt DD really early and all the time. I've felt barely anything with this one and I'm 18+5 today. My scan is 2 weeks tomorrow.

Owly, that's so cute of your DD. Glad you got to listen in. :-)

Flymo, a spa sounds awesome. I'm so stiff and achey now I'm back at work. Exhausted too. I think pampering would be fantastic. If not achievable right now!

I've bought a Moby wrap. I'm thinking it'll come in handy with a 13 month old and a baby!

Sorry if I missed anything...no memory and on my phone! :-)
