Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

OP posts:

binky I felt fine at 6 weeks to go, I did a 5 hour journey to Cornwall no probs. By the time I had 3 weeks to go I had sciatica and just felt super tired, there's no way I'd have done it then. The thing is when it comes to it, you'll know if you can/can't face it - not very helpful for forward planning I know! But be kind to yourself, don't do it if you feel at all uncomfortable about it.

FlipFantasia · 24/02/2014 18:56

Bingle when using the online calculators did you adjust your cycle length eg 25 days or 31 days? The wheel he used is based on a 28 day cycle whereas many online calculators let you adjust your cycle.

Cake also not a big obem fan. Have enjoyed it (crying when the baby arrives! Thinking some of the dads are knobs!) but I just never got into it. Now call the midwife on the other hand...I also had a traumatic induced labour & crash section first time around and a vbac (same hospital) second time around. Very personal decision and I found doctors and midwives supportive of either vbac or elcs (I was dead set on vbac though as I hatred the recovery from surgery).

ikeaismylocal · 24/02/2014 18:58

binkey I felt great with 6 weeks to go and then like death warmed up with 5 weeks to go (which lasted until the end of the pregnancy) for me it all got too much all of a sudden. Hopefully you will be fine with 6 weeks to go, also ds was 2 weeks late, I only started feeling terrible at 37ish weeks.

We are supposed to be getting married this August, we havn't actually sent out invites yet and it is going to be super casual but some days it just seems too much. I had told some of my family although not sent official invites and they are really excited so I feel like we should go ahead with it, also it's my 30th birthday, so the idea is a combined 30th and wedding.

Hello kels :) I drank a mini can of full fat coke every morning when I felt sick in my last pregnancy, I havn't felt thatsick yet this time but it's still early days. I usually hate coke but I would get paniky if we had no coke in.

I'm feeling rather sorry for myself today, I have a cold/chesty cough and I can't take anything for it apart from paracetamol, I just want to take some night nurse and go to sleep! Dp and ds have had the same virus, dp felt slightly ill for a day, ds is getting better, usually I have a super immune system, I wonder if it's because of the pregnancy that it's taking me a bit longer than usual to get better.

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 18:59

He might be reading is wrong Bingle! My last midwife (oh god, so glad I've moved) kept reading it wrong from the wheel! It's the same calculation as far as I'm aware (assuming you're using LMP) Grin
Binky, as I was reading your post I was thinking 'hope she's not a bridesmaid!' That would be exhausting! As a guest though I think you'll be just fine. Plan your journey so that you can make a few stops (for the toilet as well as for a stretch) you're bound to have a bit of a waddle by then but I (and I hope others) find it rather endearing! Everyone will look after and make a fuss of you at the wedding and you'll be looking amazing even if you don't feel it. Can you book somewhere nice to stay and make a long weekend of it? It could be a nice last pre-child holiday? I was feeling pretty good at that stage - we moved house when I was 34.5 weeks. DS was born at 37.

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 19:00

Binglesplodge, my GP had the same wheel thing. I thought I was 4+5 (as I know when I ovulated) but she said I was about 6 weeks (from last AF which is 5 days ahead).

My EDD on here is given as 10th October (last AF) but in reality it's probably 15th October.

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 19:05

(I had very severe PGP/SPD but it had eased a lot by then)

BlueberryPoppy123 · 24/02/2014 19:10

binky I'm a bridesmaid at 36-37 weeks!!! Only a 30 min drive for me but going to be a long day! With my DS pregnancy I was very active going on hikes til 42 weeks when I was finally taken to be induced, everyone's different just pace your journey maybe go down a day or 2 before x

binkybunny · 24/02/2014 19:13

Thanks everyone. I'm not v good at what will be will be I like having a plan but I guess we'll just have to see. I was meant to be doing her cake but I've put a stop to that. I'll be working til the day before we go down south then will prob just finish on mat leave.

munday omg that is close! At least I have a few extra weeks!

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 19:13

Wow! Sounds like you'll be fine then Blueberry. I'm impressed!

sazzlehopes · 24/02/2014 19:22

Binky - everyone is so different you just won't know how you'll feel. Hopefully though you'll be like most with a first and feel absolutely great, if a little large bump wise. My bump shot out like a torpedo making me look way bigger than I felt! I felt great though, right up to the end really so hopefully you too will be fine. I agree with Trouble - be lovely to make a proper weekend out of it, the last baby free possibly for a while too!!

Cake how funny that although we had the same thing, we watch the opposite bits on OBEM! And I'm not sure what to do actually....I always thought I'd defo opt for vbac this time because recovery from the cs was horrid - just long and annoying not being able to do things. With a 3 year old this time I'd love to feel ok the next day (obviously in an ideal world) but I am nervous too. I think like you I will a) hope I get that far! and b)make the decision when it comes to it based on how I'm feeling nearer the time...

binkybunny · 24/02/2014 19:25

Wow Blueberry! Feel like a bit of a wimp for worrying now. Can't wait to get my energy back to go hiking again. Hoping everyone is right about the second tri energy boost! Fed up of being on my backside. Did you do any hill walking when pg? Have been given conflicting advice on whether its ok or not with a bump because of the risk of falling. But to me I could trip walking down the road.

noimagination80 · 24/02/2014 19:45

Hey all!

Been mia as not much going on here but the desire to just crash at any possible moment.

Was going to tell my boss today but he pissed me off. And being the the reasonable well adjusted individual i clearly no longer am. I changed my mind. I really do want to tell them as I feel really guilty for some strange reason.

I sleep on my stomach and got told off by dh over the weekend for doing this. He must have been doing some sly reading....I think we may have to invest in one of those pillows so I can get used to being on my lhs.

I am based in SW London

CareBearWithFangs · 24/02/2014 19:45

I'm def watching one born tonight. I couldn't the series that was on not long after DD was born for similar reasons to everyone else. The bad births brought back flash backs and also the good births made me feel like I'd missed out and been robbed of a good experience. I've dealt with it all now though and love it again.

We'll be finding out the sex, simply to make choosing names easier. We have such different taste in names and DD was nearly 4 weeks when we finally settled on a name.

Binky, I agree with everyone else. I felt fine with 6 weeks to go.

Tiny, I really really hope everything goes well for you. It must be so heartbreakingly hard and you must be so strong.

Also wow blueberry!!

puppythedog · 24/02/2014 19:57

If we can drag ourselves away from Breaking bad on DVD (series four) we will watch OBEM. Might scare ourselves, who knows.

Only issue is BB is a bit like I hear crack cocaine is, you know bloody addictive.

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 20:06

Haha puppy. We're also watching Breaking Bad. Think there's time for one more before it starts :-)

My weird spotting seems to have stopped this evening. Still feeling very emotional though. So far hating early pregnancy for the stress alone. Not been sick yet though which is good but wondered, does anyone else feel nauseous and hotter than normal. I'm not sure but my office seems to feel loads warmer which is making me feel ill. Colleagues swear they haven't messed with any settings though and haven't noticed any changes themselves.

binkybunny · 24/02/2014 20:11

Pebble I sweating one minute shivering the next. I have got layering and scarf wearing down to a fine art at work. Struggling at night though. Keep waking up soaked with sweat and freezing cold! Also disliking early pregnancy nauseous, tired, cant sleep!

Cakebaker35 · 24/02/2014 20:14

sazzle just shows everyone and every experience is different doesn't it Smile well hopefully we can do some hand holding for each other when we do get to decision time.

puppythedog · 24/02/2014 20:15

Hey Pebble We're maybe gonna head to bed even before OBEM mrsthedog is knackere (me too but can use her excuse). Mrsthedog's temperature is all over the shop, feeling hot and cold all at the same time.

Glad things have settled down a bit for you. Bloody nerve wracking this bit.

KittyVonCatsington · 24/02/2014 20:20

Glad I am not the only one feeling hot too pebble as I just wrote on the November thread that last night I had the worst night sleep! I was boiling hot all night, horrid waves of nausea and I kept waking up. That, and I had to have my classroom windows open all day as was too hot (much to the grumblings of my pupils!)

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 20:24

It is indeed. Mrsthedog is very lucky to have you. My DP is supportive but slightly disinterested in the details. For example after letting him know about slight spotting today his response was "stop worrying, it'll be nothing". He's finding all this very easy as he knows nothing. Sure he'll be better at being involved after the scan and it really becomes real.

noimagination80 · 24/02/2014 20:29

I have been sweating one moment and shivering the next, cant seem to balance out my body temperature. I keep having hot showers to just try and warm up....I am not looking forward to summer if this is anything to go by Grin

Kels13 · 24/02/2014 20:40

Thanks Ikea!

Binky I'm supposed to be chief bm at my besties wedding 5 weeks before I'm due. She's getting married in France. 6 hour drive away! Not sure I'll make it...

puppythedog · 24/02/2014 20:51

I only look good on the internet, rest of the time I'm a normal insensitive man.

Regarding DH saying it'll be alright, though i hate to be a gender apologist he may have been saying that to himself as much as you.

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 20:59

True. He's a good man. I really don't want to paint him in a bad light. Suppose we all deal with things differently. If I didn't think he'd be a wonderful dad I'd never have allowed him to father our baby.
