hi joanne1973 sorry to hear about your loss that must of been awful for you....just like to say good luck with your first time on clomid and really hope you succeed and don't have any of the awful side affects is it the internal scan your having if so it just shows your ovaries and tells you if you have good folicals if you do then they give you an injection in your belly to start you off ovulating good luck and best wishesxxxxx

joanne1973 · 20/02/2008 20:21

Hi Catcarvell thank you for that only realised after i had left consultants office that i didn't know what the scan would show. fingers crossed i will have excellent folicals!! Good Luck to you xxxxx

catcarvell · 21/02/2008 16:19

yeah i hope you do...good luck and keep us updatedxxx

peanut23 · 25/02/2008 13:23

Hi Everyone, well i had my scan today (11th day) and i was told that i have over reacted to the clomid !! My folicals are 10 cm each 4 of them(last month i had 3 @ 2.5cm) and when they are this big they advise you to use protection due to multiple births but hey we dont go thorough all this to start using protection do we?
I have to go back for a scan on the first day of my period to check that everythin is ok b4 i start my third course, but fingers crossed i wont need my third course.
How is everyone else doin? and news yet? xx

catcarvell · 28/02/2008 14:00

peanut23 · 29/02/2008 08:37

Hi Catcarvell sorry to hear about your pain but keep your chin up cos it could just be that your folicals are huge and thats what is causin the pain (thats what the docs told me and i have one tube blocked). Hopefully you will get lucky this month which will be worth every second of pain. Take care and keep me posted xxxxx

catcarvell · 03/03/2008 14:41

Elasticwoman · 03/03/2008 14:53

I used Clomid after diagnosis of polycystic ovaries and hypothyroidism and it took 9 months for me to conceive. Am still on the thyroxine, 15 years later.

peanut23 · 04/03/2008 10:00

Hi catcarvell how you feelin? Its that time of month again for me. I am suppose to take a test tomorrow (wed 5th)but that works out to be 10 days b4 my period is due which i think is far to early to test, so im not too sure if i should wait or not! but saying that i have had real mild period pains all last night any advise would be great. Take care and i will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you xx

peanut23 · 04/03/2008 10:01

Hi Elasticwoman, a success story at last, its nice to hear as it gives us all a boost. Dont mean to sound really thick but what is thyroxine?

catcarvell · 04/03/2008 16:27

hi peanut....not too sure about the mild period pains i get them too now so it might just be the clomid...but yeah your right too early to take a test, i know how frustrated your feeling though i'm due on on monday and am desperate to find out we just have to be patient as hard as it is fingers and toes are crossed for you too xxxxx take carexxxx

Elasticwoman · 04/03/2008 20:43

Thyroxine is a hormone which you are short of if you are hypothyroid, as I am. The lack of this hormone makes you less likely to conceive and more likely to miscarry if you do. My blood was checked for this after I had a miscarriage and I've been on thyroxine ever since. If you are hyperthyroid, you have too much thyroxine and that's bad news too.

Not only did I conceive after 9 months of Clomid (I remember the young infertility dr saying to me, Don't worry Mrs Elasticwoman, we'll get you pregnant!) but I also went on to have 2 more dc without any more treatment.

sharlo · 04/03/2008 20:46

Hello, this is my first time on this site but ny husband thought it might help to communicate with people experiencing the same as us.

I've been on clomid for 7 months with no look. I am on 100mg and the doctor said I was getting 3 good follicles.

Bought a Boots ovulation test today, and after reading the info, it looks like we've been a bit early with our timings

Has anyone else used these tests, and if so, do they work???

catcarvell · 05/03/2008 14:30

hello sharlo i havn'tused those tests before i just have as much sex as we can fit in...the stress that comes with all of the treatment sometimes makes you loose sight of wot it is your trying for and i became a little obsessed about it all and my relationship started to suffer so we just try and relax(as easy as that sounds) and have fun along the way and try our best not to think about it as much as possible....lets face it waiting to take the pregnancy test is stressfull enough so we don't bother with the other ones....this site really helps me though so good luck sharlo and keep us updated and just remember it can work!!!and have lots of sex!!!!

squilly · 05/03/2008 19:34

I had 3 moonths of clomid after 3 miscarriages to speed up the conception thing (as I was heading towards 40) and bingo...baby! DD now 7. Best thing I ever did!

Hope it works for you!!!

waiting4amiracle · 07/03/2008 15:09

Hey everyone! After 1 round of clomid,no tubal blockage, large amount of egg supply left, but low prgesterone levels, I am officially pregnant!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
To make a long story short, I was prescribed in October 50 mg of clomid for a month and I went back to my doctor in February because I thought I needed clomid for more than a month. Well, in February my doctor gave me a pregnancy test and it was negative. After, he prescribed me 6 months worth of clomid and progesterone because my cycle was late. On Monday I felt so tired that I called in sick to work. I had one pregnancy test left and because my cycle still did not come on even after taking progesterone for 10 days, I thought I would just use the last pregnancy test. The test was positive and when I got to my doctor's office the same day they confirmed my pregnancy. So stick with the clomid, it really works! My husband and I are so excited and we are 7 almost 8 weeks along. Definitely keep the prayers going up!!!

catcarvell · 08/03/2008 18:05

Hi everyone. well i did my test and it was negative again, think i got my hopes up abit to much this month. I have one more months supply of 50mg clomid. What comes next, do you think the docs will just higher the dosage or do they normally try an alternative?. Great news to here about your pregnancy waiting4amiracle, keep us posted. xxx

sharlo · 10/03/2008 17:29

Thanks for replying catcarvell.

I've been using the ovulation test for a week now and got a positive reading on Saturday - day 17, which would work out about right as the clomid regulated me to 31 days. So I've got my fingers and toes crossed that we've got our timing right this month, as for the last 6 months we've been thinking days 10 to 13 are the main days. We usually do the deed every couple of days anyway, but by going on the ovualating kits, we have been able to pinpoint (hopefully) the right 36 hours. We're thinking positive.

Congratulations to waitingforamiracle on your news. I'm really pleased there are some success stories out there.

afra · 13/03/2008 14:21

hi everyone this is my secound time on the site, it really helps to no that there are people going through the same thing as me,i went to the hospital yesterday and thank god it was good news the nurse said i was about to ouvualate on the clomid, so fingers crossed i get preggers, this is my first month on clomid, had tubes unblocked aug 06,and when i went to have them checkd again the dye only went up one,doc said maybe it went into spasm?this is the most stressful thing ive gone through in my life,i also have pcos,im 29 and got preggers naturally at 18 but misscarried, was using ovualation kits but the doc said not to use them to soon after the clomid bcause it might give a false positive result, lots of baby dust to you all,xx

peanut23 · 13/03/2008 16:55

Hi Sharlo

Do the ovualating kits really work? I am just waiting to start my third month off clomid and my cycle is currently 33 days. i have been told by the docs that my main days are 12 - 14 day of my cycle, but i would like to see if they are right. Hope you get lucky x

Hi catcarvel, just thoughti would say a quick hi to see how your getting on. hope your good take care xx
