Hi haylz

Am on the second clomid, in my first cycle I though I was pg, I had all the signs, mild backache, frequent urinating, sore bubs, tiredness... I was so sure since my blood test showed I had ova, I did several tests nothing, when they came I was so sad and depressed.

Am sorry and I know it hurts badly..just be hopeful for God will give you, your perfect baby, and pray always for the medicine to work perfectly and to bring the desired results

skates77 · 26/08/2008 15:12

Oh Haylz I am sorry to hear that. its always so disheartening isnt it. I had another person tell me to relax and it will just happen today, I could have smacked her! People dont understand how upsetting it is not to get pregnant as easily as everyone else.

What were your levels? when i was tested before going on Clomid mine were 1.2, I go for my bloods on 1st september so am hoping they will be higher then.

put some sad music on and sing your heart out, it always makes me feel so better.

good luck honey xxx

Hi Skates77.

I totally agree with you i know peole mean well when they say relax and let it happen but its not that easy, My sister in law has just got pregnant again for the fourth time and wasnt even planned, instead of been happy for her i just cried, she did not want anymore children.
Us girls would give anything for a baby, lets support each other cause at least we now how the other feels.

Take care

MWmum · 26/08/2008 21:06

Hi girls!

It's such a bummer when you get excited even though you know you shouldn't then it turns out it's negative. People seem so insensitive but unless you've been there you don't really get it...and to be honest having had one already you do forget a bit. I fell pregnant a 2nd time straihgt off the pill but m/cd at 9 weeks. Still not conceived again a year later and ALL my postnatal group are either very preg or just had another so feel like fat freak at the min.
Haylz - is there any chance the blood test for Ov could've been taken too early (ie you have a longer cycle?) My doc has told me if day21 bloods neg to keep coming back at 28 and 35 incase I ov late?

haylz · 27/08/2008 09:50

hi mwmum
2 b honest i did think that but trying 2 talk 2 the doc yesterday was hard

he must have bn having a bad day cause he was so rude
ill wait 4 gyno 2 get in touch with me and go from there.
i will do another test in a few days if af aint arrived. will let u no
all the best 2 u all xx

haylz · 27/08/2008 13:41

hi girls
well i think its a defo i aint preggy cause gyno rang and said my blood result was only 1.2 and last month it was 12.9 so dont understand how it can drop that much even tho i upped my dose 2 100mg. just waiting 4 af 2 come so i can start round 5.
hope ur all feeling ok and dont get any false pos hpt like me. ill never trust them again lol
baby dust 2 u all xx

pixistar · 27/08/2008 13:52

Hi All,

I'm feeling a bit down today
Af is late, nothing unusual there . Did a test I'm not pregnant. I know that for sure now because I rang my clinic for my 21 results. My progersterone level is only 2 - so I did not ovulate. I knew that any way because I have not felt any different, what so ever this month. They have said that if I don't come on by Monday then I need to call, so they can induce my af and will then up my clomid to 100mg

I'm sick of my DH saying it will be ok, It'll happen. All right from him he already has a kid from a previous relationship! That does not make me feel any better. If any thing it makes me feel all the more desperate

jonahsgirl · 27/08/2008 14:51

Hello everyone,
Hope it's ok for someone new to join in your forum, would love to chat to you all knowing ur all going through the same things as me. We've been ttc for a couple of years and had all the investigations done which ended up with the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. I was given 3 cycles worth of clomid and referred to the IVF clinic (because I'm 35 they didn't want to wait too long before trying IVF). It didn't work in the first cycle and I'm now on day 9 of my second cycle (finished my clomid a few days ago). I had all the usual side effects but the worst was the headaches and my reproductive system felt like it was in overdrive! Not got the headaches this time up to now (but i'm taking painkillers at the moment cause I broke my big toe! so thats probably why!). I was a bit worried after reading some of ur stories on here cause I wasn't followed up with scans or blood tests was just given the clomid but we have to go to an open evening all about IVF on the 17th Sept so I'll ask about those then. Here's hoping the clomid works before we have to go down the IVF route. Best of luck to you all x

skates77 · 27/08/2008 15:17

Welcome Jonahsgirl, always nice to see someone else has the same problems as us all.

Haylz that is terrible, thats what my level was before I started Clomid. Lets hope af hurries up so you can get on the next round. chin up xx

Pixistar i totally agree with you, men dont get it do they? my boyfriend understands a little better now but thats only due to me having an enormous tantrum about his sister and sister in law falling within a month of coming off the pill and both of them finding it hard to make a decision! they both chose to keep the babies and as much as I love them I cant help but think that it isnt fair!

Marcy08 one of my friends gave birth to twins yesterday and as much as i am so very happy for her i couldnt help but think maybe she should give me one?!! think i am just being hormonal!

xx

wishinanhopin · 27/08/2008 15:40

Hey all!
I'm new to this site. I just stumbled upon you lovely ladies when I did a cold search on clomid after my doctor suggusted I may want to start on it.I'm 28 with no children, and have been TTC for 2 years. I rarely have periods, and had a ultrasound that proved all is in working order. So we've determined I'm not ovulating regularly and need some help.
So I start clomid tomorrow 50mg. I'm a bit unsure about the whole timing thing. Does everyone ovulate at different times on this drug? Is there an optimal time to ttc??

Pinkali37 · 27/08/2008 16:10

Hello

I keep looking at this thread because I was in your position last year. I feel for you all and the basic truth of it, is it is HELL and unless someone is in the same situation they DO NOT understand! Anyway, I am only poking my head in to say it can happen and it did to me! I was onmy 3rd round of clomid. first 2 months I didn't ovulate with results of 1.0 (so hey you lot beat me), then on my 3rd month I got a 67 and voila i'm pregnant and due November. I am merely telling you all this because I know how heart breaking it is. I was told I would never conceive naturally and my whole world fell in. I have severe endometriosis and I felt like a complete failure. I really do wish you all luck. My only tip is and was that I started acupuncture the 3rd month when I got pregnant and the one thing it did for me was allowed me to relax and what the guy was saying about making my womb fertile liek the soil on a veg plot started to actually make sense.

Good Luck xxx From a clomid success story (just looked at the thread title).

amanda2676 · 27/08/2008 16:17

Hey everyone,

I just wanna say that I got pregnant with DS after 3 cycles of Clomid. I had severe endo and PCOS. I'm starting on Clomid again next week to TTC baby #2. I know its hard but be patient, it will happen
xx

jonahsgirl · 27/08/2008 16:36

Hi Skates77 and thanks, it's going to be lovely talkin to you all and sharin our stories. I'm hopin it will make the waitin more bearable, as my last cycle, which was the first one on clomid, felt like the longest month ever!! I suppose I built my hopes up to much thinking it would work first time and was countin down the days til I could do a pregnancy test.
Hi wishinanhopin, I'm new to the site too. I have irregular periods also, my cycle can be anythin from 33 to 47 days so it's really hard for me to know when I'm ovulating. I've read that most women ovulate about 5 to 9 days after taking your last clomid tablet but our doctor just told us to have sex every other day for the whole of my cycle, which is rather exhausting and is easier said than done! (not that DP is complaining!!).

peju25 · 27/08/2008 16:39

Hi all just hoping you can HELP!! with a bit of info! Got a letter from doc saying they had heard from hospital (meant to be having a scan before going on clomid) to say they dont do these as routine for primary infertility. Spoke to doc and she wants to sort it out and make sure ok to put me on clomid without ultrasound - been waiting wekk n half for her to get back to me now. Problem is i have come on today and really dont want to have to wait another 6 weeks for next af before starting. Couldnt get appointment with doc till friday 5pm to speak to her but if i get her to prescribe it will i still be on time to start taking it this cycle?? I know it seems some of you start it on different days of cycle - how is it worked out what days you take it??? Sorry to rant but im getting bit impatient with these docs as went first of all nearly 3 months ago now!! Please help!!

Pinkali37 · 27/08/2008 16:48

Hello

I was told by my consultant to take it days 2-6. Also I never had a scan before i started to take it, so it depends on your Gp..

jonahsgirl · 27/08/2008 16:52

Hi peju25
I was told to take my clomid on day 2 to day 6 but this can vary and some people have taken it on day 5 to day 9 so if you get a prescription for some on fri you should be ok. I don't think the doctors work it out on an individual basis but it's just what they prefer. probably depending on which research they have read up on or the most recent NICE guidelines.

jonahsgirl · 27/08/2008 17:06

Also all hospitals and doctors have different routines and protocols, I had to have loads of blood tests, an ultrsound scan and a hycosy exam all before I was given clomid, whereas some people don't. I think your GP is just being cautious which I suppose is a good thing but I know how you feel peju25 the waiting is just horrible.

skates77 · 27/08/2008 17:34

Hi Peju I think you will be ok, I have to take mine days 2-6 but I think I am in the minority. I recommend you go to the surgery first thing and see what they say, if they cant offer you an appointment ask to have a phone consultation with the doctor, this is what i did and crying like a baby down the phone worked because my prescription was waiting for me.

I havent had a scan but had a blood test, if you call your surgery and just request a hormone blood test they will do it without the doctors having to know.

I got messed around for so many years with my doctors that I now realise the only way to get anything done is to be forceful with them!

Jonahsgirl this is my first cycle of Clomid and my 21 day bloods are booked for monday and my god this has been a long month! feel pregnant but i know this is just the side effects as i wouldnt feel anything this soon although i have been very tempted to do a test i need to wait and find out my blood results.

Have a nice evening everyone and baby dust to all

Happy baby making!!

xxxx

jonahsgirl · 27/08/2008 17:58

I know exactly how you feel skates77, the worse thing about these tablets is that they do make you think you're pregnant with all the side effects. Because I'm not having follow ups with blood tests or scans I haven't a clue whats going on so last time I did a test on day 30 then again on day 35, both bfn, then got af day 37. I've got a feeling I'm gonna be spendin alot of money on pregnancy tests!!
Let us know how you get on at the doctors peju25
Take care everyone xx

sarashy · 27/08/2008 19:47

well today has to be the worse day of all and i suppose i no longer qualify to write on this thread any more. went to see my consultant this morning and she has refused to start me on clomid as i dont have pcos and there is no evidence that it improves fertility (apparently). So we've been put on the ivf waiting list for the next 3 yrs. which dh isnt to happy about as he doesnt want it he says its impersonal. Am i being unreasonable to think that if this is the only way then we should give it a go???
I now feel like thats it. no where else to go, no baby for me.
